Chapter 517 I Am Your Wife 2
Unexpectedly, Francis just let go of his hand, then looked at Jessica and said calmly, "I'm sorry, it's my fault for making you misunderstand."
"Ms. Morgan, I have no recollection of the things you mentioned. I think you must have mistaken me for someone else."
"As for saving you, it was purely out of sympathy for a pregnant woman and her baby. I didn't want anything to happen to you and your baby, which would then blame my fiancée. There was no other intention, so please don't misunderstand."
After saying that, he walked towards Celia. "Let's go."
"Okay."
This time, Jessica knew she had no reason to stop them from leaving.
She had said everything she could to say.
But he didn't believe her at all.
What should she do?
"Baby, tell me, what should I do?"
"Baby, you're sad too, right? Your dad is right in front of us, but he doesn't recognize you. I'm sorry, baby, but I won't give up."
"Your dad belongs to us. I will bring him back to you and your brothers."
But even as she said this, Jessica's heart was breaking.
It was late, and Jessica watched as Francis and Celia's figures grew smaller and smaller, turning into tiny dots, and then disappearing completely.
Jessica thought about the recent events, especially how he defended Celia, and she was truly heartbroken.
Her whole heart was in excruciating pain.
Because she was pregnant, she couldn't squat down; otherwise, she would have squatted and cried her heart out.
There was a row of benches nearby, and Jessica walked over and sat down.
The breeze was colder, and the temperature had dropped.
Jessica could feel her body temperature gradually slipping away; her cheeks, hands, and almost her entire arms were cold.
When Vincent, Oscar, and Tina arrived, Jessica was sitting there in a daze.
Jessica leaned against the bench, staring far into the horizon, looking at the sea.
Jessica remained utterly silent, an unusual state of quietude for her.
But it was precisely Jessica's quiet demeanor that made everyone more worried and heartbroken.
"Jessica." Vincent was the first to arrive.
"Mrs. Walton, you must take care of yourself. Please don't be too sad." Oscar arrived shortly after.
Due to her gender and lower stamina, Tina ran somewhat slower and consequently arrived a bit later.
Tina immediately ran up and hugged her. "Jessica, don't be afraid. We're all here. No matter what happens, we'll be with you."
But Jessica just let Tina hug her, not saying a word for a long time.
When Tina touched her arm, she found that Jessica's whole body was extremely cold.
"Jessica, why are you so cold?"
As soon as Tina finished speaking, Vincent quickly took off his coat and handed it over.
Tina took it and immediately draped it over Jessica.
At the same time, Tina hugged Jessica with concern. "Jessica, let's go back, okay?"
Jessica still didn't speak.
Jessica didn't cry or make a fuss.
But the quieter Jessica was, the more worried everyone became.
"Jessica, don't be like this. Talk to me, okay? I know you're feeling pretty rough right now, and you can't accept this reality. We can't accept it either."
"But it's not your fault, and it's not Mr. Walton's fault. If anyone is to blame, it's fate. But I believe Mr. Walton will regain his memory. He will remember you, Freddy, and Gilbert."
"He survived such a big plane crash, so we should have hope for him, right?"
"Mr. Walton loves you so much; he couldn't bear to leave you alone, Jessica. You have to have faith. Mr. Walton will remember you."
Tina said a lot, and only then did Jessica feel a slight impact.
After a while, Jessica turned around, her eyes filled with sadness as she looked at Tina. "Tina, thank you for your comfort."
"At first, I thought the same way as you. But you don't know how much it hurts."
"When I saw Gabriel looking at me with unfamiliar eyes, speaking to me in an unfamiliar tone, treating me like a stranger, I really couldn't bear it. Gabriel has completely forgotten me."
"And do you know? He's not alone now; he has a fiancée. That woman lives by the sea, she's tall and beautiful, gentle and charming, exactly the type he likes."
"They were holding hands, looking like the most loving couple. And now, in his eyes, I'm just a crazy woman, a lunatic, an unreasonable woman."
"Tina, I really can't take it anymore. My heart hurts so much."
"My heart hurts so much."
Jessica couldn't hold it in any longer. After saying that, she hugged Tina and started crying bitterly.
Even though she was trying her best to hold it in, Jessica's cries kept spilling out, one after another.
Just hearing one cry made people feel extremely sad and uncomfortable.
Vincent just stood by, suddenly feeling that all his words of comfort were so powerless.
If he could, he would rather bear all the pain for Jessica.
He only wished for Jessica to be happy.
Perhaps after crying and venting, Jessica felt a little better.
Tina took her hand. "Jessica, the breeze is strong, and you're pregnant. Your body is already weak. Let's go back first, okay?"
Thinking of the baby in her belly, Jessica's eyes softened a lot.
Nodding, Jessica said hoarsely, "Okay."
Knowing the situation, Oscar and Vincent had already rented a place nearby.
Because they knew that as long as Gabriel was here, Jessica would stay here with him and wouldn't leave.
So they had prepared everything in advance.
When they arrived at the rented place, Tina accompanied Jessica to the room.
Then Tina picked out a coat for Jessica to wear.
"Today has been a long day, with the flight and the car ride. You should rest for a while. Oscar and Vincent are cooking, but I guess their cooking skills aren't great. I'll go help them."
"Okay." Jessica nodded.
Jessica lay on the bed, feeling very tired.
But Jessica couldn't fall asleep at all.
As soon as she closed her eyes, Jessica's mind was filled with images of Gabriel, especially him standing in front of her saying his name was "Francis Gutierrez," saying he had a fiancée and holding Celia's hand tightly.
That scene played over and over in Jessica's mind.
About an hour later, Tina and the others finished cooking and called Jessica down for dinner.
"Tina, I'm sorry. I know you all have been busy for me, but I have no appetite. I can't eat anything."
Tina looked at her with concern. "But you haven't had a proper meal all day. The baby is growing and needs nutrition. You should eat a little."
"Okay." Jessica nodded.
She followed Tina downstairs, and the table was already set with a variety of dishes.
But after just one bite, Jessica started vomiting violently.
By the end, Jessica was almost completely exhausted, her stomach empty with no food left.
Just as Jessica finished vomiting, there was a knock on the door.
