Chapter 692 A Warm Scene

Grace hugged him tightly.

She spoke softly, "Although I've never met Helen, from your description, I can feel the deep bond between you."

"Helen must have loved you very much, which is why you have such deep feelings for her."

"Maybe current medical science can't create miracles, but as long as there's life, there's hope. Don't you think so?"

Quentin nodded, "Grace, thank you for being with me at this time."

With that, he lay down, resting his head on Grace's lap.

The orange-yellow light shone on them, and the breeze moved the white curtains, gently brushing over them.

This scene was like a dream.

Under the white curtains, they looked like a harmonious, loving couple.

Grace's slender fingers gently stroked his cheek.

She spoke even more softly, "Are you very tired?"

"A little."

"Then take a nap."

"Will you leave? Will I see you when I wake up?"

"I won't leave. I'll stay with you today."

"Okay, you have to keep your word."

"Go to sleep."

Quentin slept for almost two hours.

He woke up because he was hungry.

"I've already had someone prepare food. I'm hungry too. Let's go together," Grace said.

"Okay."

Quentin felt quite refreshed because he had taken a nap.

But Grace's legs were numb from having his head on them for so long.

She suddenly stumbled and almost fell.

Fortunately, Quentin caught her in time and asked, "How do you feel?"

"My legs are very numb. You go ahead, and I'll rest here for a bit before joining you."

Before she finished speaking, Quentin picked her up, "I'll carry you downstairs."

In the end, he placed her on a chair.

They were both indeed hungry and enjoyed their dinner very much.

After dinner, they were about to go out.

Willie suddenly rushed in, "Mr. Taft, Ms. Stewart is here."

"Didn't I tell her to go back?"

"But she said she was worried about you and insisted on coming to see you."

"Send her away. Tell her I'm in a bad mood and don't want to see her."

"But Ms. Stewart has already..."

Before Willie could finish, Caroline had already rushed in.

Seeing that he was up and there were dishes on the table, Caroline immediately smiled.

"Quentin, it's great to see you up and eating."

"How do you feel now? Any better?"

Suddenly, her eyes fell on the table, and she asked in surprise, "But why are there two sets of utensils? Who ate with you?"

Quentin was about to answer when he turned around and saw that Grace was nowhere to be found.

She must have hidden inside.

Willie immediately stepped forward, "Ms. Stewart, who else could it be? Of course, I ate with Mr. Taft."

"Right, I can't think of anyone else."

After finally sending Caroline away, Quentin immediately went inside to find Grace.

Quentin opened the door to a pitch-black room, barely able to make out a figure. He flipped on the light and walked over, asking, "Why didn't you turn on the light?"

"I was afraid the light would give us away, and she would find out."

Quentin smiled and hugged her, "Let her find out. I never intended to hide it from her."

Grace shook her head, "But I don't want her to know."

"Why?"

"She's your fiancée now, and what am I? I'm nothing, Quentin."

She turned around and carefully adjusted his tie. "No matter what our relationship is now, you will eventually marry her and start a family."

"Then you can quietly let me go, and no one will know about us. Isn't that good?"

Quentin's deep eyes turned dark. "You've always been thinking about leaving me, haven't you?"

Grace smiled.

But her smile was a definite answer.

"Quentin, you can't be too selfish."

"If you get married, I will never stay by your side as a mistress, nor will I interfere with or ruin your marriage."

Quentin just held her, "You won't become that, and I won't let you."

At night, he held her tightly as if afraid she would leave.

In the morning, when Quentin left, Grace was asleep in bed.

As soon as he got to the office, he instructed Willie to reschedule the next few days' appointments.

"Mr. Taft, are you planning to spend the next few days with Ms. Morgan?"

"Mind your own business."

Just then, he received a message on his phone.

[Seeing that you've almost recovered and can work normally, I'm relieved. I'm going back to the set. Don't miss me.]

Quentin quickly called her, but no one answered.

"Mr. Taft, what's wrong?" Willie asked, seeing his unhappy expression.

"Just one message. Grace has already gone back to the set."

"It seems Ms. Morgan truly loves you," Willie sighed deeply.

Quentin stared at him, confused and angry, "True love would just leave me like that?"

"Mr. Taft, you don't understand. Yesterday, when you were in a bad mood, I called Ms. Morgan, and she came back to see you without hesitation."

"Today, she left in such a hurry, which shows how busy the set is. If she took the time to fly back to see you, isn't that a concern?"

"You mean she really came back for me?" Quentin couldn't believe it.

"Of course. Did you think Ms. Morgan came back to see me?" Willie joked.

Quentin reached out and punched him, "Get lost, you shameless guy!"

As soon as Grace returned, she saw Marlon in the hallway.

Grace immediately decided to take a detour.

But as soon as she turned, Marlon caught up with her, "Grace, you're finally back?"

"What's up?"

"Don't hide it from me. I heard you went back for something. How did it go? Do you need my help?"

"No, it's all taken care of."

"That's good."

"Thanks for your concern. It's late, and I'm tired. I'm going to rest."

With that, Grace was about to leave.

But Marlon grabbed her hand, "Grace, wait."

"Marlon, what is it?"

"I just wanted to tell you that if you ever need help, you can always count on me."

"Okay, thanks."

Her eyes fell on Marlon's hand, making her meaning clear.

Marlon reluctantly let go of her hand.

But this scene was all seen by someone else at the end of the hallway.
