Chapter 255 Both Angry and Jealous 1
Jessica was in a dilemma, unsure whether to leave or stay.
As she hesitated, she heard a voice from inside. "Mr. Walton, you can't get up. Your wounds need proper care."
Turning around, she saw Gabriel already standing next to her.
His face was pale, but he had a faint smile on his lips. "Since you're here, why not stay for a bit?"
He asked cautiously.
She looked at his face and, unable to bear it, nodded gently.
The distance from the door to the hospital bed was only about thirty feet. Someone came up to help him, but he refused, "No, I can do it myself."
So, he endured the pain and walked forward on his own.
Because his wounds had reopened and were bleeding and infected, he dared not make any large movements, taking small steps forward slowly.
Jessica couldn't stand it anymore and spoke up, "Are you in a lot of pain? Maybe you should let them help you. It might be more comfortable."
Gabriel refused.
The next moment, a painful groan escaped his lips.
Jessica, unable to bear it, hesitated and then said, "How about I help you over?"
He looked at her, seemingly stunned, then nodded.
She then reached out and gently supported his arm, walking with him towards the hospital bed.
Just as they reached the bed, Nurse Trinity Perez entered the room.
"Mr. Walton, your wounds need to be dressed," Trinity spoke softly, her head lowered. Although she didn't look up at Gabriel, her tender cheeks were already blushing.
She looked extremely shy.
He nodded and was about to unbutton his shirt.
Seeing her blush and then looking at Jessica, he suddenly realized it and said, "Get a male nurse instead."
Trinity and Jessica remained silent.
Trinity felt a bit hurt, her blush deepening.
But this time, it wasn't out of shyness but because she felt hurt and sad.
Trinity had just started at the hospital and was still an intern, not yet officially employed.
In the morning, the nurses had said that a tall and handsome man was staying in this room. She had only seen him from a distance and found him incredibly handsome.
So, she had mustered a lot of courage to get this opportunity to dress his wounds today.
Unexpectedly, she was being sent away before she even started.
Trinity felt extremely wronged. She looked up, and when she saw Gabriel's exceptionally handsome and deep features, her heart trembled.
She had only seen him from afar before and already thought he was very handsome.
Now, seeing him up close, she found his face even more stunning.
Trinity bit her lip and spoke sadly, "Mr. Walton, did I do something wrong?
"If I've done something wrong or offended you in any way, please tell me, and I'll correct it."
After speaking, Trinity lowered her head again.
"You've done nothing wrong. I just prefer a male nurse," Gabriel said firmly.
His tone showed no softness despite Trinity's sadness; instead, it remained as resolute as ever.
"Mr. Walton, I'm still an intern. Please let me dress your wounds, or I might fail my assessment," Trinity said, almost crying.
His face remained cold, showing no response.
Jessica looked at Trinity and, unable to bear it, said, "Let her do it. Our hospital's assessments are very strict, and you're in a VIP room. If you change another nurse, it could affect her assessment."
Trinity immediately looked at Jessica with gratitude. "Thank you, ma'am."
His face only grew colder.
"Oscar," he called out coldly.
"Mr. Walton," Oscar quickly approached.
"Escort this nurse back and personally inform them that I specifically requested a male nurse for personal reasons. This will be the case for the next few days," he said.
"Yes, Mr. Walton." Oscar immediately complied.
With that, Trinity had no choice but to leave with the medication, following Oscar out.
If she didn't leave now, it would be too embarrassing.
Just as Trinity was about to leave, Gabriel suddenly spoke, "Wait.
"I have nothing against you. It's just a personal reason. I already have someone in my heart, and I don't want any other woman to see my body, even for dressing wounds.
"I don't want her to misunderstand or feel even a bit unhappy."
Trinity's heart settled. She looked up and forced a smile. "Mr. Walton, with such deep feelings, I'm sure you'll get what you wish for. I wish you and the girl you love a lifetime of happiness."
Jessica stood aside, surely understanding that Gabriel's words were meant for her.
She blinked and quickly wiped the moisture from the corners of her eyes before Gabriel noticed.
Then Jessica pretended nothing had happened.
It was impossible not to be moved.
But some things had come too late.
Jessica was no longer the young girl who could forget the past with a few sweet words and forgive all the hurt.
Now, she had scars and wounds in her heart that would take a long time to heal.
After Trinity left, Gabriel turned to look at Jessica, who stood there with a calm expression, showing almost no emotion.
His heart broke sharply, filled with discomfort.
Had his Jessica really stopped caring?
A few minutes later, a male nurse arrived with the medication.
Although he had expected Gabriel's wounds to be bad, when his shirt was removed, revealing the twisted wounds, Jessica gasped.
The scars had completely reopened and were infected, with some oozing blood and others pus.
It looked really bad.
It was impossible not to feel distressed. Jessica's hand clenched tightly, and her heart was heavy.
Every time the nurse cleaned a wound, Gabriel groaned, and Jessica's heart tightened, her brows furrowing.
Gabriel noticed this, so he groaned even more in pain.
Naturally, she felt more distressed.
After all the wounds were treated, the nurse advised, "You must rest well these days. The wounds must not reopen, especially avoiding water and infection."
"I will follow Mr. Walton's instructions to dress your wounds in the coming days," the male nurse paused and boldly asked, "May I ask what my colleague did wrong? Why did Mr. Walton specifically request me?"
Gabriel squinted. "I requested a male nurse."
He glanced at Jessica. "The reason is that I don't want my girlfriend to have any reason to feel jealous or upset."
