Chapter 703 Childhood Secrets 2
As soon as Willie finished speaking, a cold, piercing gaze shot over. Quentin's intimidating look seemed ready to devour him."Mr. Taft, although you're very angry, I think you should carefully consider who you want to give this ring to before you send it out."
Willie risked getting fired by saying this.
"Who do you think it is?" Quentin asked coolly.
"I think you want to give it to Ms. Morgan."
"Of course, besides her, I haven't thought of giving the ring to anyone else."
Willie braced himself and asked, "But the ring on Ms. Stewart's hand, the media claimed you gave it to her, Mr. Taft."
"My mom picked it out and sent it in my name. I don't even know what that ring looks like."
"Understood," Willie replied knowingly.
If Grace knew about this, she might be happy.
Carefully placing the ring away, Quentin looked at Willie. "Put it in my safe. No one is allowed to open it except me."
"Yes, Mr. Taft."
After Willie secured the ring, Quentin remotely set the password.
Quentin instructed him, "Don't tell her about this yet. I want to tell her myself at the right time."
Willie then handed over the documents he had just printed out to Quentin.
"Mr. Taft, some information about Ms. Morgan's childhood for you to review."
"Alright, you can go now."
After reading the documents, Quentin's expression turned terrifyingly dark.
If it weren't for Jessica's hint, he would never have imagined that Grace had such a miserable childhood.
When he first met Grace, she was lively, radiant, and loved to laugh, especially her bright smile, which left a great impression on him.
So, he never thought that behind such a bright smile was a tragic childhood.
Thinking back, during the years they were together, she never mentioned her parents or anything related to home.
Now he understood why.
Closing his eyes, his heart roared and screamed like a raging river.
He couldn't imagine what kind of family Grace was born into and what kind of childhood she had endured.
What kind of terrifying memories did her parents leave her with?
To make her attempt suicide again and again in various ways at such a young age, to escape everything.
Quentin couldn't imagine.
The documents were mostly blank.
But the records of Grace's hospitalizations were very detailed.
And each time, the injuries were severe.
"Willie!" Quentin shouted.
Willie immediately ran in. "Mr. Taft."
Quentin couldn't contain his anger and threw the documents at him. "Where's the information? Tell me, why is it all blank?"
"Mr. Taft, we had three teams looking into it, but we couldn't find any information."
"Keep looking."
Quentin rubbed his aching temples.
Finally, his gaze fixed on the top page, and he continued to ask, "What about her parents? Where do they live now, and what are they doing? Find out everything."
"I'll get right on it."
After Willie left, Quentin picked up his phone several times, wanting to call Grace.
But after several attempts, he gave up.
At the very least, he wanted to know more before calling her.
Otherwise, he feared he wouldn't be able to resist asking her, causing her more pain.
Since Grace had dealt with Beth, Beth had become much more obedient and submissive.
On set, Beth no longer caused trouble for Grace.
She didn't create conflicts during filming either, and acted properly.
Even Marlon was puzzled. "Beth, have you changed recently?"
"What do you mean?"
"I've noticed you've been very polite to Grace these past few days. Didn't you used to dislike her?"
Beth didn't want to reveal that she had been beaten up, so she made up an excuse.
"I wasn't deliberately targeting her before. I thought you were interested in her and was afraid she'd seduce you, so I was hostile towards her."
"But not anymore. She has a wealthy boyfriend now. Grace has a boyfriend, so she won't be a threat to me."
"Alright, so that's it!"
Marlon responded on the surface, but his heart was already gloomy.
Marlon's hands clenched into fists.
Calling him a wealthy boyfriend was putting it nicely.
To put it bluntly, Grace was being kept by someone.
Grace was really shameless.
As soon as filming ended, Marlon went to Grace's place.
He knocked on the door and called out, "Grace, Grace."
Grace didn't want to deal with him, but his voice was so loud it was disturbing the neighbors.
Although she didn't want to see Marlon, she didn't want to become the talk of the town because of him shouting at her door.
So after some hesitation, she opened the door.
"Marlon, what do you want?"
Even though she was unwilling, Grace smiled politely when she opened the door, hoping to get rid of him quickly.
"I do have something to talk to you about. I called you for a while, maybe you didn't hear me. My mouth is a bit dry from shouting, let me have some water first."
Before Grace could stop him, Marlon had already pushed past her and entered.
He sat on the sofa and poured himself a glass of water.
His presumptuousness rendered Grace helpless.
"Marlon, say something you need quickly. I want to rest."
After drinking the water, Marlon put down the glass.
Then, his eyes started to scan Grace from head to toe.
His gaze made her very uncomfortable.
"Marlon, if you have nothing to say, please leave. I'm really tired today."
At that point, Marlon dropped the pretense.
"Grace, let me ask you something, and don't take it the wrong way. Are you short on money?"
"Marlon." All of Grace's patience was exhausted. "I'm not short on money. What exactly are you trying to say?"
Marlon's hands fidgeted on his knees, looking a bit nervous.
Finally, he spoke. "I know everything. You're with a sugar daddy."
"Marlon, did you come here just to say this?"
Seeing Grace get angry, Marlon decided to lay it all out.
"Grace, I know you want to make a comeback. Given your current situation, a woman in the entertainment industry is indeed very vulnerable, isolated, and struggling. So I understand you. It's reasonable for you to want to find a backer."
"But those men are old and ugly, and they have families. They're not suitable for you. I'm different. If you consider me, I'll give you the best of everything."
"Most importantly, I won't look down on you, even if you've had scandals in the past, even if you've been with other men and aren't pure. I'll treat you like a treasure and not hold anything against you."
Now, Grace understood his intentions.
With a cold laugh, she looked at him disdainfully. "Marlon, how can you shamelessly say these things to me?"
