Chapter 798 Grace's Counterattack 1
Finally, under Quentin's sharp gaze, she unblocked him.
Quentin immediately sent a message, and only after confirming everything was back to normal did he stop.
After the tension, the two finally had a moment of peace. Grace sat on the sofa, and he sat in the chair, not disturbing each other.
Thinking about the fire alarm she heard in the room earlier, she gently asked, "How did you manage the alarm sound?"
It seemed that she was the only one in the entire hotel who heard the alarm, which made her rush out of the room and allowed him to break in.
He was truly despicable!
Quentin glanced at her coldly, "What can't you do with money?"
Bastard, he was just relying on his wealth!
One day, he would end up poor!
Grace looked at him helplessly, "At the rate you're spending, the Taft family's fortune will be wasted away by you."
"That's none of your concern. Even if I spend for ten lifetimes, I won't run out of the Taft family's money."
"Really?" She retorted with a cold smile, "One day you'll understand that not everything can be bought with money."
He smiled gracefully, "We'll see, I'm looking forward to that day."
In the end, Quentin fully displayed his rogue and thick-skinned nature, and no matter what Grace did, she couldn't get rid of him.
Grace spent the whole morning with Mark and then spent the afternoon battling wits with Quentin. She was really tired now.
She just wanted to have a good sleep.
"Quentin, I'm tired and need a nap."
"This is my last warning: your activity area is limited to the sofa, chair, and bathroom. If you dare come near me, I won't let you off."
Quentin nodded seriously, "Okay."
Grace couldn't be bothered with him anymore and fell asleep under the covers.
Perhaps because she was tired, she slept exceptionally well.
Grace only woke up when her phone rang. She groggily answered, "Hello, Mark, I just woke up."
"Let's meet in the hotel lobby in twenty minutes. I'll wait for you."
"Okay."
Grace got up and stretched, only then realizing there was another person in the room.
It took her a while to react.
However, she ignored Quentin the whole time, treating him like he was invisible.
"Are you putting on makeup to go out?" Quentin finally spoke up.
"None of your business. What you need to do now is: one, leave my place immediately, go anywhere but here; two, get out of my room, it's inappropriate for us to be alone together."
"Grace, are you really this heartless?"
"Yes!" Grace nodded, "I've always been ruthless. Are you just realizing this now?"
"I don't believe it."
"Really?"
She smiled, but there was an inscrutable meaning in that smile.
Quentin felt a sudden unease in his chest.
After leaving the hotel, Grace immediately sent Mark a location: [Let's meet here in a bit.]
[Okay.]
Mark didn't ask why and went straight there.
Grace hailed a cab as soon as she left the hotel lobby, and they met at the designated spot.
"Grace, over here!"
Seeing her, Mark waved.
Grace went wild the entire afternoon, trying everything that wasn't particularly dangerous.
Even many things she had never dared to try before, she mustered the courage to do them all.
Mark was a bit worried. Since they met in the afternoon, although Grace hadn't said anything, he felt she had something on her mind.
They played until evening, and the sun was setting.
Mark suggested having dinner at the hotel so she could rest right after eating.
After playing all day, she must be tired.
Grace pointed to an address on her phone, "I heard the seafood at this place is really good. I want to go."
Mark checked the address; it was a bit far.
"Never mind the distance or being tired?" he asked.
Grace immediately shook her head and said, "Let's go!"
They took a cab and went there. Luckily, there was an empty table when they arrived, and it was a private room with good privacy.
That night, Grace didn't drink.
But she didn't eat much either. Mark hesitated, wanting to ask if something was wrong, but in the end, he didn't force her.
They spent over an hour having dinner, and by the time they calculated the time to get back, it would be around eleven o'clock.
It was so late; Quentin should have left by now.
But Grace was uneasy. She called the front desk and asked them to send a fruit platter to her room to test the waters.
Within two minutes, instead of a response from the staff, she received a message from him.
[Grace, thank you for the fruit. It's delicious, I really like it!]
Quentin was truly shameless; he hadn't left!
Grace was furious, unable to stay calm.
"Grace, are you in some kind of trouble?"
"I..." Grace was so angry she was almost incoherent, finally saying, "Quentin is here!"
"What?" Mark was also incredulous. "When did he come? Did he hurt you? Grace, if you're hurt, you must tell me, don't hide it."
"I'm not hurt, but he's refusing to leave my room."
At that point, Grace had a sudden idea, "I have a plan, but Mark, I need your help."
"Grace, just tell me, I'll help you."
"Okay."
At eleven o'clock, Grace returned to the hotel.
She thought that even if Quentin was staying in her room, he should at least have some decency.
But the scene that greeted her when she opened the door left her stunned.
Quentin was not only working at her desk but had also taken a shower and changed into pajamas!
"Quentin, where's your dignity?" Grace was furious.
Quentin seemed to have anticipated her reaction, so he remained particularly calm.
He pointed to the bathroom and said calmly, "Grace, I've prepared your pajamas and the bathwater is ready."
"Quentin!"
Grace roared at him, "What do you want?"
Quentin finally stood up and walked towards her, looking at her seriously, "Grace, my wish is simple. Let's go back to how we were before. As long as you don't leave me, I can tolerate any of your temper."
Grace, however, responded firmly, "Impossible."
"Quentin, don't even think about it! Absolutely not!"
