Chapter 159 Vincent and Gabriel Arrive Simultaneously to Rescue Jessica
"Jessica!" Vincent shouted and immediately ran over.
Yosef quickly followed.
Seeing someone approaching, the men around hesitated for a moment but still acted arrogantly. "Who are you? I advise you not to meddle. This is not the time for you to play hero."
"Yosef," Vincent called out, giving him a look that conveyed everything.
"Yes, boss, don't worry."
In just a few minutes, all the men were lying on the ground, sprawled out.
Jessica, still scared, was curled up in the same spot, hugging herself like a pitiful and helpless little rabbit, evoking a deep sense of pity in everyone who saw her.
When Vincent looked at her, his heart suddenly felt a sharp pain.
Her eyes were red, and she was curled up into a small ball, hugging herself, trembling all over.
Vincent walked over and reached out his hand to help her up.
Suddenly, Jessica shuddered violently and tried to retreat.
She closed her eyes, her heart filled with endless fear.
Vincent immediately understood that she was traumatized by the incident.
He squatted down and spoke softly, "Jessica, open your eyes and see. It's me, Vincent. Those bad people are no longer here. I'm here to rescue you."
'Vincent? Is it really him? But how could he be here?' Jessica was a bit skeptical.
Seeing her doubt, Vincent continued to explain seriously, "I really am Vincent. If you don't believe me, open your eyes and see."
This time, Jessica slowly opened her eyes, cautiously at first, just a small slit. Once she confirmed it was him, she suddenly widened her eyes in surprise. Her eyes were wide open, clear as if freshly plucked from the water.
Seeing her just staring and not speaking, Vincent called out worriedly, "Jessica."
But he had just called her name when suddenly, tears started falling from Jessica's eyes, one drop, two drops, and then a stream.
The next moment, she burst into loud, unrestrained sobs. "I was so scared, I was terrified. You finally came to save me."
She cried and reached out to hug Vincent, burying herself in his arms.
Her small hands clung tightly to him, as if afraid he would leave her behind.
"They were so scary, I was so scared."
"Thank you for coming to save me!"
"Vincent, thank you. Why is it that every time I'm in danger, you always show up?"
Jessica was venting her emotions. Only by doing so could she feel less afraid and stop thinking about what had just happened.
"Alright, don't think about it anymore. I'll take you home," Vincent comforted.
He stood up and carried her in his arms.
"Okay," replied Jessica.
However, just as Vincent turned around with Jessica in his arms, Gabriel suddenly appeared in front of them.
He looked at the two of them, his eyes almost spitting fire.
Instantly, he clenched his fists, and if he hadn't been restraining himself, he would have punched Vincent in the face.
'Alright, I see now. So this is why she rejected me in every possible way, refusing to wear the bracelet that Xavier and Ximena had given her?' Gabriel thought to himself.
"So, this is why you went to the bar and texted me, wanting me to come and see for myself? Jessica, well done." Gabriel's words were almost spat out through gritted teeth, filled with immense anger.
Half an hour ago, he received a message from her on Facebook. It was very simple, just one sentence.
Jessica: "I'm at Whiskey Haven Bar."
At the time, he was in a meeting, so he had the voice message transcribed into text, which left him puzzled.
But he felt uneasy, so he played the voice message.
When he realized she had sent the message while drunk, he became extremely worried, concerned about how she would get home alone and whether she would encounter any danger.
He didn't even finish the meeting and drove straight there.
But what did he see?
Vincent was holding her.
So, this was her plan.
"Jessica, how could you do this to me?" Gabriel's eyes were bloodshot as he looked at her, his heart filled with rage.
What he didn't want to admit was the intense jealousy he felt.
At that moment, he almost went crazy. Without a word, he stepped forward and took Jessica from Vincent's arms.
"No, I don't want to go back. Gabriel, let go of me, let go of me," shouted Jessica.
Jessica didn't want to go back with him and struggled violently.
She didn't want to see him at all right now, and she had no idea how Gabriel got here.
Wasn't he supposed to be looking for Diana, on a plane?
Since he had left, why did he come here?
"Gabriel, let go."
Even though Jessica was resisting, Gabriel still carried her away.
It wasn't until Jessica and Gabriel's figures disappeared into the crowd that Yosef finally spoke up, "Boss, why? You were the one who saved her first. Why did he take her away?"
Vincent felt a bitter ache in his heart.
'Why? Because he is Jessica's husband, and I am just an ordinary friend,' Vincent answered inwardly.
That reason was enough.
"You'll understand someday," Vincent said.
Putting Jessica in the back seat, Gabriel got into the driver's seat and locked the car tightly, giving Jessica no chance to escape.
Actually, Jessica had no strength left to escape.
She had forced herself to stay awake out of fear.
Once the car started and everything quieted down, the alcohol quickly took over her mind again.
By the time they got home, Jessica was heavily intoxicated.
But one thing hadn't changed; she still resisted Gabriel's approach.
On the way, Gabriel received a call from Oscar, who detailed what had happened to Jessica at the bar.
When he heard that she had been surrounded by several men and was in great danger, he wanted to tear those men apart.
He promptly instructed Oscar to handle the situation at the bar.
Oscar responded, "I have called the police, and they are now in custody."
"Then punish them with the heaviest sentence possible. Keep them locked up for as long as you can," Gabriel said angrily.
Bringing Jessica home, he smelled the alcohol on her and put her in the bathtub, turning on the hot water.
Thinking about how she had gone to the bar alone and had gotten herself into trouble, he couldn't contain his anger. "Jessica, you really have some nerve, going to a bar alone. Did you ever think about what would happen if you got into trouble?"
Jessica was still dazed, not fully conscious.
Hearing Gabriel's angry words, she suddenly climbed out of the bathtub, resting her small chin on the edge, blinking her eyes pitifully.
"Danger? But to me..."
She laughed drunkenly, pointing her pale finger at Gabriel. "You are the biggest danger, don't you know?"
