Chapter 802 Understanding the Truth
Grace nodded, "Of course."
"Besides, it was my fault for dragging him into this. You know what you've done, I won't expose you one by one."
"Grace!" Quentin was so angry that he threw down his fork.
She had no interest in comforting him now. If he wanted to be angry, let him be angry. What did it have to do with her?
"You're not eating?" Grace looked over and asked coolly.
Quentin crossed his arms lazily. "No, I'm too full of anger."
"Alright then!"
Nodding, Grace reached out and took the plate of broccoli and shrimp in front of him, then continued to eat heartily.
In a few days, she would be on a show, so she needed to control her diet and couldn't eat these foods freely.
Quentin was silent.
He now had the urge to strangle Grace.
If he wasn't holding back the roaring anger in his heart, he didn't know what he would do.
He had naively thought she would try to persuade him, but she was so indifferent!
On the other side.
Mark went back and invited Lecia Martin to dinner, the woman who had been rumored to be with him a few days ago, and helped clear things up today.
He booked a top-notch restaurant and reserved the whole place.
The restaurant had a great atmosphere, an elegant environment, exquisite dishes, and soothing music, all of which Lecia liked.
Mark wanted to thank her, so he catered to her preferences.
He went straight to the restaurant from the plane and waited for a while before Lecia arrived.
"Sorry, Mark, I was at an event and came late. Have you been waiting long?"
"No, I just got here too. Have a seat!"
Mark looked at the chair opposite him and made a gentlemanly gesture.
"Okay!" Lecia nodded.
After she sat down, Mark immediately raised his hand to signal, "You can serve the dishes now."
Soon, one exquisite dish after another was served, making for a very sumptuous meal.
Lecia was happy, "Mark, thank you. The cost here is not low, you really spent a lot."
To be honest, they did know each other.
But it was just an acquaintance, not the close friends Lecia mentioned on Instagram.
"It's what I should do. You helped clear up the rumors, it's just a meal."
Saying this, Mark snapped his fingers, and someone respectfully brought something over, "Mr. Stoll, here is your item!"
Mark took it and handed it to Lecia.
Lecia saw the packaging and knew it was valuable.
"Mark, is this for me?" Lecia was flattered and couldn't believe it.
"Yes, it's a thank-you gift, and also a wedding gift for you. Congratulations on your marriage!"
Lecia immediately sweetly thanked him.
Then, they dined together.
To be honest, Mark was very touched that Lecia had voluntarily posted on Instagram to clear up the rumors and even publicly announced her marriage for this.
So he was very generous with the gift he gave Lecia.
Halfway through the meal, Mark's phone rang.
He glanced at it and hung up, pretending not to see it.
But as soon as he hung up, it rang again.
This happened repeatedly, his phone rang at least several times.
"Mark, your phone keeps ringing!" Lecia reminded him.
"It's nothing, just spam calls!" His tone was a bit off.
But as soon as he finished speaking, his phone rang again, this time it was his agent George calling.
After hesitating, Mark got up and found a quiet place to answer.
On the other end, George sighed in relief when the call connected, "Mark, you finally answered."
"What's up? What's the matter?"
"Mr. Powell has called you several times, but you were probably busy and didn't answer. He wants to see you. Where are you now? I'll pick you up."
"I'm having dinner, not going."
Mark refused decisively.
"Mark, Mr. Powell is..."
George tried to persuade him, but Mark interrupted, "George, I can tell you clearly, I saw every call he made, I just didn't want to answer or hear his voice, or see him."
"So don't waste your effort, I won't see him."
After saying this, Mark didn't wait for George's response and hung up.
George rubbed his head in frustration. The relationship between Mark and Kenneth was really a mess.
Caught in the middle, he was the one taking the heat, it was really tough.
When George called back, Mark's phone was unreachable.
In the end, George could only sigh and call Kenneth back.
As dinner was ending, Mark looked at Lecia and asked a question that had been puzzling him.
"Honestly, we are just acquaintances, we've only met a few times, and the photos online were a coincidence, used by someone with an agenda."
"So I'm curious, why did you agree to help me, even revealing your marriage?"
Lecia smiled, "Very straightforward, I like that, so I'll tell you."
"Actually, I'm not as good as you think, not so altruistic. The reason I helped clear things up is that I had a reason."
"What reason?" Mark probed.
"Because your agent George found me, he said if I helped clear things up, he would exchange some good resources for me."
"What resources can I see?"
"Just a moment!"
Lecia took out her phone and showed Mark the photos she had taken.
Looking at the content, Mark's expression grew colder.
These resources were beyond George's capability, there was only one possibility: Kenneth had helped.
To be honest, the resources were really good, if he were Lecia, he would have agreed without hesitation too.
"Is there anything else?"
Lecia shook her head, "No, but he did make one request."
"What request?"
"George said I couldn't just make a simple statement like other celebrities, it wouldn't be effective, and not many would believe it. I had to show my marriage certificate to be convincing."
Mark sneered, so that was how it was.
No wonder Lecia would go to such lengths to help him.
But despite this, Mark was grateful to her.
The person he hated was Kenneth.
"Thank you for your honesty. Dinner is over, I'll leave now."
"Okay, I'll stay a bit longer."
Just as he stepped out of the restaurant, Mark saw a familiar black car parked at the entrance.
