Chapter 211 Meeting Vincent Again
Gabriel replied, "No."
Gabriel shook his head, looking grim.
He'd never do something that risky.
Four million dollars meant nothing to him; he could afford it and didn't care about the money.
His only goal was to keep Jessica safe.
According to his plan, as long as those guys got two hundred thousand dollars every minute, they wouldn't catch up.
In twenty minutes, he'd take Jessica to the designated spot and get into the secure location he had set up.
His people were already there waiting.
By then, even if Mike's crew caught up, they wouldn't be able to harm them.
The appearance of these cops was a total surprise.
Jessica looked at Gabriel, puzzled. She remarked, "Could it be they found out I was kidnapped and came to rescue us?"
Gabriel suspected, "Not necessarily, could be for other reasons."
Gabriel continued, "But one thing's for sure."
Jessica said anxiously, "What?"
Gabriel speculated, "They must've been discovered while ambushing, and those guys thought I called the cops, so they went nuts trying to kill us."
Jessica took a deep breath. She said, "Luckily, we're safe."
Gabriel agreed, "Yeah, luckily."
After Gabriel finished speaking, his expression grew even more pained.
Jessica noticed immediately and asked, "Gabriel, what's wrong?"
Looking down, she saw the blood on him.
She was instantly terrified.
How could there be so much blood?
She didn't even know when he got hurt.
Jessica said anxiously, "Gabriel, hang in there. Didn't you say our people are almost here?"
She pleaded, "Please, don't scare me. You have to be okay."
Jessica was already panicking.
Gabriel reached out, touched her head, and smiled. He assured her, "Silly girl, don't be afraid. It's just a minor wound."
Gabriel said confidently, "Don't worry, I won't die. I'm tough."
But Jessica was still frantic. Seeing the bloody hole in his arm, she couldn't stop her tears.
Jessica scolded, "Gabriel, this is clearly a gunshot wound. Why didn't you tell me?"
"If I told you, you'd definitely cry," Gabriel said with a smile.
Jessica immediately wiped her tears and took deep breaths.
Then she forced herself to calm down.
She thought that if it were someone else, facing such a gunshot wound, she would have surely calmed down by now and started methodically tending to the injury.
But facing Gabriel, she was completely flustered.
She was a doctor, a doctor.
This was her specialty.
She could definitely save him.
Although she lacked experience and was still an intern who had never been on the operating table.
She had never seen such a bloody scene in real life, but she wasn't afraid.
She couldn't be afraid.
Jessica advised, "Gabriel, hold on. I'll bandage your wound to stop the bleeding."
"Okay," Gabriel agreed and nodded.
"But it will hurt, a lot. Dr. Morgan, what should I do?" Gabriel said, frowning slightly.
When he mentioned the pain, Jessica's heart panicked again.
Jessica replied, "I'm sorry, Gabriel. I don't have any painkillers with me right now. You have to bear with it. You're losing too much blood. I have to stop the bleeding first."
Gabriel teased, "Silly girl, I don't need your apology. If I could get a kiss right now, it might not hurt as much."
Jessica, without hesitation, leaned down and kissed Gabriel on the lips.
He thought she might be a bit shy.
However, she didn't hesitate at all, her eyes were so determined.
After the kiss, Jessica didn't move away but looked at him, asking, "Feel better now?"
Gabriel remarked playfully, "A bit, but the battery's only at 30%. I want 100%."
Jessica leaned down and kissed him twice more on the lips.
Then she stood up, her bright eyes looking at him, and asked, "How about now? Battery full?"
"It's full, but it's still draining. I need a constant supply of power," Gabriel said.
Jessica got angry and pinched his arm, her heart tightening again, and scolded, "Gabriel, this is not the time to joke with me."
As soon as she finished speaking, Gabriel groaned.
Jessica felt distressed again, and instructed, "Alright, lie down."
"Okay," Gabriel agreed, then obediently closed his eyes.
At this moment, Jessica reached out and tore off her entire sleeve.
Luckily, her clothes came in handy at this time.
Throughout the process, Jessica's hands were almost trembling as she bandaged Gabriel.
But the bullet was still inside, and her heart was still hanging.
Just then, a voice came to her ears, "Mr. Walton."
"Mr. Walton, are you hurt?" the newcomer asked nervously.
Gabriel stretched out his hand and said calmly, "It's nothing serious, don't worry."
Jessica was already extremely scared. If they got nervous, she would be even more nervous.
The newcomer apologized, "Mr. Walton, we're sorry we're late."
Gabriel assured him, "It's not your fault. No one expected this kind of accident."
The newcomer explained, "Yeah, we had no idea there were police ambushing on the mountain. They seemed to be targeting those people."
At that moment, a group of police officers came down with the kidnappers.
Seeing Jessica and Gabriel, they walked over and stopped.
"Are you the ones who were just kidnapped? Were you shot? How are you? Do you need help?" one of the police officers asked as they stepped forward.
Jessica nodded, and informed, "Yes, he was shot, and it's quite serious. If you can help, that would be great."
Because the police could provide a smoother route to the hospital, it would definitely be faster.
This way, Gabriel could get treated sooner and suffer less.
The police officer replied, "Alright, after we check the wound, please cooperate with us to make a statement at the station."
Jessica answered, "Okay."
The police officer inquired, "By the way, what's your name and phone number?"
Jessica replied, "Jessica."
After she gave her name, suddenly, a man behind the police group trembled with excitement and coughed heavily.
The person next to him immediately got nervous, and asked, "Captain Lucas, are you okay? Is it serious?"
Vincent slowly opened his eyes, weakly saying, "Help me over there."
Originally, he was at the back of the group, surrounded and protected by others.
"Captain Lucas, are you okay?" the person next to him asked worriedly, hesitating.
Vincent lowered his voice, slightly angry, and repeated, "Help me over there."
Although he was injured, his voice was still strong and powerful.
The person replied, "Alright, don't get excited. I'll help you over."
Seeing him walk forward, the people on both sides automatically stepped aside, making a wide path.
When he saw Jessica, he couldn't hold back anymore and called out softly, "Jessica."
Jessica was squatting next to Gabriel, checking his wound. Hearing the familiar voice, she immediately turned around!
Jessica asked, "Vincent, is it really you?"
