Chapter 301 Scheming Against Jessica

Jessica's heart just melted right then and there because of him.

She felt so soft inside, like she could just melt away.

Out of nowhere, she remembered that necklace.

Gently pushing him back, Jessica asked, "That necklace, did you really give it to Diana?"

"Which necklace?"

Gabriel looked totally lost.

Jessica clarified, "The one with the ruby pendant you gave Diana when you were abroad."

Gabriel's face lit up with understanding.

He couldn't help but laugh after hearing her.

Seeing him laugh, Jessica pretended to be mad, asking, "Come on, spill it; did you give it to her?"

Gabriel took Jessica's hand and kissed it over and over, saying, "Silly girl, it's good you asked. That necklace was never meant for her; it was for you."

"For me?"

Jessica's eyes went wide with surprise.

"Yeah." Gabriel nodded and went on, "Back then, I thought I was gonna die, so I took off the necklace and asked her to give it to you, to tell you that I love you, so much."

"But..."

Jessica finished his sentence, "But you didn't expect her to keep it for herself and use it to mess with us."

Gabriel replied, "Yep, Ms. Morgan is getting smarter. You've got some serious detective skills."

"Then why didn't you take the necklace back and leave it with her?" Jessica was still mad about it.

Gabriel said, "That necklace was meant for you. Since it's been tainted, it's not the same anymore, and there's no point in giving it to you. Besides, my return is the best gift for you, right?"

Jessica smiled and rubbed his face.

"In that case, you have to promise me you'll never put yourself in danger again. Gabriel, if you're not in this world, what's the point of me living?" As she spoke, Jessica started to cry.

Gabriel quickly wiped her tears, comforting her, "Alright, such a gentle, beautiful, and elegant Ms. Morgan, if you keep crying, you won't be beautiful anymore."

"Who says? I'm always beautiful."

Gabriel coaxed, "Okay, Ms. Morgan is beautiful when she smiles, beautiful when she cries. In my heart, you're the most beautiful."

Only then did Jessica smile through her tears and head to her office in a good mood.

As soon as she left, Gabriel's phone rang.

Even though it wasn't labeled, the number was familiar, and he immediately recognized it as Diana's.

Without much thought, he hung up right away.

By the third call, Gabriel blocked the number.

On the other end, Diana was so mad she was pounding the wall.

Diana shouted, her face twisted with rage, "Alright, Gabriel, since you're so heartless to me, don't blame me for being ruthless to you. How did I save you back then? I went through so much humiliation to save you, and you forgot all about it."

She thought maliciously, 'You want to be with Jessica, right? Let's see if you can still accept her after she sleeps with other men. Gabriel, this isn't my fault; you forced me to do this. Fine, I'll let you watch as your beloved Jessica is destroyed.'

Thinking of this, Diana laughed maniacally.

After calming down, she immediately made a phone call, "How's the investigation I asked you to do?"

"I'll send it to your email right away."

Diana asked, "Good. I also need a few dozen skilled men."

"Diana, I'm warning you not to push your luck. I've already helped you a lot." The man on the other end started to lose his temper.

Smiling, Diana touched her belly and said, "Even if you don't care about me, don't you care about your baby's safety?"

"What? Baby? Diana, what are you talking about?" The man roared, clearly agitated.

Diana replied, "Just what it sounds like."

The man said, "Alright, I'll send more people to protect you right now. But I'm warning you, you better keep my baby safe. If anything happens to it, I'll hold you responsible."

"Don't worry. As long as you follow my instructions, I'll make sure your baby is born safely."

After hanging up, Diana's lips curled into a smug smile.

Even though this baby came at a bad time and she didn't want it, it wasn't entirely useless.

Now, someone was following her orders, right?

Especially since that man had fertility issues and had never gotten a woman pregnant before. She was the first to carry his baby.

As long as she held onto his desire to be a father, he wouldn't dare disobey her.

With that, she felt quite pleased.

Flipping through Jessica's photos and activity records from the past month, which were mostly just the hospital and home—a very monotonous routine—Diana suddenly found a particular photo.

Yes, it was the one with Jack's mother and Jessica together.

Immediately, Diana laughed out loud.

Jack's mother, now this was interesting.

She quickly sent a screenshot of the photo.

[Find out where this woman frequently goes.]

Soon, she received a reply.

[Jack's mother goes to a beauty salon for skincare every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.]

After freshening up, Diana headed straight to the beauty salon that Jack's mother frequented.

She waited for over three hours until it was almost dark before Jack's mother finally came out.

Diana didn't beat around the bush and approached her directly, asking, "Ms. Jones, can I have a word with you?"

"Who are you?" Patricia lifted her eyelids and asked, clearly annoyed.

Diana extended her fair hand and smiled, "Ms. Jones, let me introduce myself. My name is Diana Bush."

Diana?

The name sounded familiar.

She seemed to have heard it somewhere before.

While Patricia was deep in thought, Diana further explained, "Ms. Jones, you might not know my name, but you must know my identity. I am Miss Bush from the Bush Family, and also Gabriel's girlfriend."

Sure enough, Patricia's expression changed upon hearing this.

She hurriedly pushed Diana away, saying, "What does this have to do with me? Move, I need to go."

Seeing her leave, Diana wasn't angry.

She deliberately raised her voice, "Ms. Jones, I know you're not interested in me, but you must be interested in Jessica. I heard you want her to be your daughter-in-law. If I have a way to make that happen, would you be willing to listen?"

Sure enough, Patricia stopped in her tracks instantly.

"Get in the car."

She called out, and Diana immediately followed her into the car.

Inside the car, it was very quiet.

Patricia looked at the driver, ordering, "You step out for a moment. I have some business."

"Yes, Mrs. Smith."

Only then did Diana carefully examine Patricia. Even at fifty, her skin was remarkably smooth and flawless, a quality that many would envy.

No wonder Jonah liked her.

Yes, the woman in front of her was Patricia Jones, Jonah's mistress.
