Chapter 591 Charity Gala 2
Gabriel and Jessica stood in the middle, his hand holding hers, while Gilbert and Freddy stood on either side.
With their sweet family dynamic and two handsome, adorable twin sons, they immediately caught the media's attention as soon as they got out of the car.
"Wow, they're twins! So handsome!"
"I've heard Mr. Walton has twin sons, but this is their first time making a public appearance, right?"
"Yeah, my heart is racing. They're even more handsome than Mr. Walton."
Gilbert and Freddy heard all these comments.
Freddy was instantly delighted upon hearing the compliments.
In his excitement, he broke free from Gabriel's hand and walked into the venue with a stylish stride.
As he walked, Freddy didn't forget to wave to the media on both sides, smiling and greeting, "Hello, gentlemen and ladies, make sure to take handsome pictures of me!"
Then, he started posing for the cameras, and his smile was especially sweet.
In contrast, Gilbert was different.
He held Jessica's hand tightly, carefully protecting her.
Gilbert's expression was cold and cool.
"Gilbert, do you want to take pictures with Freddy?" Jessica asked.
Gilbert shook his head slightly, his face expressionless and somewhat serious, "No, I just like staying with Mommy and the baby."
Jessica was genuinely surprised by Gilbert and Freddy's behavior at the gala.
Although Gilbert was usually reserved and quiet while Freddy was always talkative and cheerful, the difference wasn't as noticeable at home.
But once they were outside, Gilbert and Freddy became two completely different characters.
Freddy was overly enthusiastic, while Gilbert maintained a calm, cool demeanor.
Jessica suddenly thought that it might be difficult for Gilbert and Freddy to get into relationships in the future.
Inside the venue, Jessica was immediately captivated.
Not only by the grand and magnificent decor but also by the various exquisite foods.
Rows of delicious food were displayed, looking incredibly tempting.
Fortunately, her pregnancy check-up results were good yesterday, and the doctor allowed her to eat a little.
"Mommy, do you want to eat?" Gilbert immediately saw through Jessica's thoughts.
"Yes," Jessica nodded.
"Then I'll get it for you!"
With Gilbert's careful attention, Jessica ate happily.
Gabriel was busy with negotiations, knowing she wasn't good at socializing and was more interested in food.
So, Gabriel didn't force her.
But no matter where he was in the venue, he couldn't take his eyes off Jessica, sneaking glances at her now and then.
At that moment, a beautiful woman with flowing long hair approached Gabriel.
Seeing him, the woman raised her wine glass proactively, "Mr. Walton, have a drink!"
Gabriel maintained his gentlemanly manners and clinked glasses with her.
But just as the woman was about to speak, Gabriel interrupted her, "Sorry, my wife is here, and she's very strict. I can't drink much."
Every word was a refusal.
The woman glanced in the direction Gabriel was looking and then wisely left.
At seven o'clock, the auction began on time.
Before the auction, the host loudly and passionately announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, tonight's event is a charity auction, and all proceeds will go to support children."
"Before the auction, we invited two very adorable children. Please give them a warm welcome as they come up to speak."
With applause and lights, Gilbert and Freddy walked up to the stage with small steps and straightened their backs.
The camera zoomed in.
Seeing their faces and knowing they were twins, the crowd was full of praise.
Jessica was pleasantly surprised that Gilbert and Freddy were not shy at all on stage.
And they also spoke without notes, delivering their speech vividly, with every gesture perfectly executed.
Their cute, pure voices resonated powerfully throughout the venue.
Many people were moved.
Jessica listened, tears welling in her eyes.
"Honey, they've grown up."
"As a mother, I suddenly feel so inadequate. I didn't even know Gilbert and Freddy were so excellent and outstanding. When we get home, I must give them lots of kisses and hugs."
Gabriel leaned in, "Honey, I think you should kiss and hug me more."
"You're shameless."
"It's not that I'm shameless, but their excellent performance is all thanks to my good teaching."
"You taught them?"
Gabriel nodded proudly, "Of course, I did."
After Freddy and Gilbert came down, Jessica hugged them and gave them big kisses.
"Freddy, Gilbert, you were amazing. I'm so happy for you."
The auction began, and the first item was a pair of ruby earrings, very delicate and exquisite.
Jessica liked them, so she raised her paddle.
More importantly, since Freddy and Gilbert opened the event, as their mother, she had to give them the credit and make sure to win the first item.
And since the proceeds were for helping children, Jessica was more than happy to contribute.
The first item was highly contested.
After several rounds of bidding, Jessica finally got it.
The competition became even fiercer afterward.
After the auction ended, the most memorable thing for Jessica was "Number 17."
She reached out and tugged on Gabriel's sleeve, "Honey, who is Number 17? He seems to have won several items. Is he very wealthy?"
"Alfonso Harvey, worth billions of dollars. He started from scratch in his thirties and made a company quickly rise to national prominence in less than ten years. He's very powerful."
"Rumor has it that he leads a clean lifestyle and keeps things simple, but he's always been passionate about auctions, and the proceeds he wins are all used for charity."
"This charity auction's theme is supporting children, so he's even more generous."
Jessica understood, "No wonder he's been participating in the auction."
After the auction, Jessica felt a bit sleepy.
Just as they were about to leave, Freddy and Gilbert said they needed to go to the bathroom.
"Let Dad go with you!" Jessica was a bit worried.
But Gilbert and Freddy were very independent, "Mommy, let Dad stay and protect you. We can go by ourselves."
After saying that, Freddy and Gilbert ran to the bathroom.
On their way out, Gilbert and Freddy, in their haste, suddenly bumped into someone at the corner.
Gilbert and Freddy tumbled to the ground, wincing as their backsides throbbed with pain.
"Did you get hurt? Let me help you up," Alfonso said, bending down proactively.
