Chapter 224 There Is Absolutely No Possibility Between Us

"Alright, she's awake. Ms. Bush is awake!" the doctor shouted excitedly.

Seeing Gabriel, Diana immediately threw herself into his arms.

Diana said excitedly, "Gabriel, is that you? Am I dreaming?"

She said pitifully, "You finally came. Do you know how scared I was?"

Diana cried uncontrollably, looking like she might faint at any moment.

After another day in the hospital, Diana felt much better. Gabriel took her out and rented a short-term apartment for her to recover.

That night, when she was asleep, Gabriel got up to leave.

Suddenly, Diana got out of bed and hugged him tightly.

Gabriel pushed her away, his eyes cold. He stated sternly, "Diana, I've made it clear. There's no future for us."

He remarked, "I love Jessica now. I won't betray her or hurt her."

Gabriel said seriously, "I'll help you as much as I can, but that's all I can promise."

He pried her arms off and left without hesitation.

Diana's sorrowful cry echoed behind him. She tried to emotionally threaten him , saying, "Aren't you afraid I'll commit suicide again? Aren't you afraid I'll die?"

Gabriel turned around, his eyes filled with sorrow.

He remarked, "Life is your own, and you only get one. You saved me, so I'll save you. But we each have to be responsible for ourselves; don't be foolish."

Gabriel stated, "Diana, I can't save you every time. Think carefully."

With that, Gabriel left, pushing open the door and walking out.

The room fell silent.

Diana looked in the direction he had left, hugging her knees tightly.

Tears flowed silently.

With each tear, her hatred for Jessica deepened.

Diana blamed, "Jessica, it's all your fault."

She lashed out, "If it weren't for you, Gabriel would still be mine. You took everything from me."

Diana vowed, "Jessica, I won't let you have a good time."

Wiping away her tears, Diana's face filled with anger.

Outside, Gabriel made a phone call. He inquired, "How's the investigation going?"

The assistant replied excitedly, "Mr. Walton, I was just about to report. We've made contact. Professor Thomas's team is flying back tomorrow at noon. You can meet in the morning. I've arranged the meeting place."

Gabriel replied, "Good, tell me the address."

The next day, after meeting with Michael Thomas and watching him leave, Gabriel downed his coffee in one gulp.

The weight on his heart slowly lifted.

After finishing his coffee, he made a video call to Jessica.

Seeing him, Jessica naturally missed him more.

"Is work tiring? Are you getting enough sleep? Do you miss me?" Gabriel asked.

Jessica replied playfully, "You asked so many questions at once, I don't know which to answer first."

Gabriel said sweetly, "Okay, then just answer the most important one. Do you miss me?"

Jessica responded with a question, "What about you? Do you miss me?"

Holding his phone, Gabriel gave a strong kiss to the screen. He said lovingly, "Yes, I miss you very much."

Jessica replied affectionately, "I miss you too."

Just as Jessica finished speaking, Tina called out, "Jessica, come on. I've got your meal."

Jessica informed him, "Tina's calling me for dinner. I gotta go."

Gabriel replied, "Alright, go ahead."

After the call, Jessica was in a great mood and especially cheerful during dinner with Tina.

"Is your boyfriend on a business trip again?" Tina asked.

Jessica nodded and replied, "Yeah, he's been super busy lately."

"I'm so envious of you," Tina said, resting her face in her hands with a dreamy look.

Jessica laughed, She remarked, "What's there to envy? We're both so busy we sometimes don't see each other for a week."

"You two being so busy and still managing to date, how can I not be envious!" Tina replied.

"Really?" Jessica didn't think so.

Tina pointed to her face. She teased, "Of course! Look at you, your whole face says 'I'm in love, I'm happy,' and you look completely blissful."

Jessica asked as she blushed, "Is it that obvious?"

Tina nodded vigorously, and said, "Couldn't be more."

Jessica smiled, her expression bright and radiant.

Jessica comforted her, "Tina, you're so adorable. One day you'll meet your own boyfriend."

Tina responded playfully, "Thanks, I'll take your word for it."

Jessica laughed.

She covered her mouth, looking at Tina with a smile. Jessica said, "I can't help it, your words are just so funny."

Tina sighed and retorted, "I wish someone could appreciate my interesting soul like you do."

"You're wrong," Jessica said. "I think your beautiful appearance far surpasses your interesting soul. Miss Ingram, it would be a shame not to take advantage of your beauty."

Tina said sweetly, "Oh, Jessica, love you. You're an angel."

Because of Jessica's compliment, Tina was in a great mood all day.

After dinner, Jessica and Tina left, chatting and laughing.

They didn't notice that not far behind them, Jack was intently listening to their conversation. He thought to himself,

'So, Jessica really does have a boyfriend.

'Jessica hadn't lied to me.

'It seems I misunderstood Jessica.'

Just after dinner, Tina received a call saying that Jack wanted to see her.

Jack?

Tina was puzzled, wondering why a vice president would want to see a small employee like her.

With a nervous heart, she knocked on Jack's office door. After all, Jack was the vice president of the hospital, and Tina was a bit scared.

Tina greeted, "Dr. Smith, hello, I heard you wanted to see me."

Jack assured her, "Relax, I just want to have a casual chat, nothing work-related."

Tina was relieved; she had thought she had done something wrong at the hospital that it had reached the ears of the vice president.

Hearing it wasn't work-related, Tina relaxed a lot.

Jack asked, "Your name is Tina, right?"

Tina answered, "Yes, Dr. Smith."

"You seem to have a good relationship with Jessica," Jack asked again.

Bewildered, Tina thought, 'Jessica?'

She speculated, 'Could it be that Jack wanted to know something about Jessica?'

Tina wondered, 'So, Jack is interested in Jessica?'

Tina's mind started to wander.

Jack let out a soft hum, and Tina immediately nodded and replied, "Yes, we are friends."

Jack inquired, "I just heard you say that Jessica has a boyfriend? Do you know him? Do you know his name?"

Jack's series of questions left Tina stunned.

After a while, she opened her eyes wide and said incredulously, "Dr. Smith, does this mean you really like Jessica?"
