Chapter 541 Jessica Knows He's Here
The doctor's house was nearby, so he arrived quickly.
After examining her, the doctor said, "She was already a bit malnourished and had stayed up all night, consumed by worry, which is why she fainted."
"She's pregnant now, and the fetus is still fragile. Please be very careful and take good care of her."
"Luckily, she fainted on the bed and was discovered in time. If she had fainted elsewhere, the consequences would have been unimaginable."
Alisha listened to the doctor, wiping her tears and asking worriedly, "What should we do now? Celia hasn't woken up yet."
"No need for medication for now. Let her rest. Stay by her side, and when she wakes up, make sure to prepare some nutritious food for her."
"Okay, thank you, doctor."
After seeing the doctor off, Alisha held Celia's hand with a heart full of pain.
At the same time, Alisha cried and said, "Celia, my dear daughter, I'm sorry for letting you suffer so much."
"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have left you alone to sleep last night. I should have stayed with you, never leaving your side."
"You're pregnant, and I let you sit alone all night. It's all my fault."
Alisha was very clever. Her words seemed to be self-blaming.
But in reality, every word was aimed at Francis, subtly placing the blame on him.
Francis understood what Alisha meant.
"Mrs. Bell, I'm sorry." He stepped forward, apologizing solemnly and seriously.
Alisha ignored him, her eyes fixed on Celia's face.
"Mrs. Bell, I didn't take good care of Celia and the baby. It's my fault."
"Since it's my fault, you can count on me to change. I'll step up as a fiancé and a soon-to-be father and take care of Celia."
Hearing this, Alisha reacted a bit.
She turned around, "Francis, I don't want to say anything extra. I have only one request: take good care of Celia and the baby. They can't have any accidents."
"Mrs. Bell, you can rest assured. Since I promised, I will follow through."
"Alright."
By this time, it was already daylight.
Alisha went to prepare breakfast, and Francis stayed in the room with Celia.
On the other side.
Jessica had just woken up. Without even opening her eyes, she groggily called out, "Honey."
However, no one answered her.
A wave of unease washed over Jessica. She quickly reached out to touch the spot next to her.
But the spot next to Jessica was already empty.
How could this be?
Although Jessica had a bit of a fever yesterday and was groggy, her thoughts were not very clear.
But Jessica clearly remembered that Gabriel had come.
And Gabriel told her that he had regained his memory and remembered her and the baby.
Was her memory confused?
Because she missed him so much, did she have hallucinations in her sleep? Was she dreaming all along?
But no, she felt those memories were too real and too vivid.
It didn't seem like a dream.
It didn't seem fake either.
So, it should be real.
Gabriel regained his memory and came back to her, right?
Jessica didn't want to guess anymore. She couldn't wait to confirm it.
Jessica was too anxious and too excited, she didn't even change out of her pajamas and went out wearing her house slippers.
In the living room, she saw Louie and quickly ran over.
"Mrs. Walton, you're finally awake."
Louie looked at her happily, about to ask if she was hungry.
But Jessica anxiously asked, "Louie, where's Gabriel? He came last night, didn't he?"
Louie looked a bit troubled.
He knew that everything last night was just a show, all planned out.
Francis was still Francis; he hadn't regained his memory.
So, Louie didn't dare to tell Jessica the truth, fearing she would be hurt again.
But Jessica couldn't wait any longer and asked urgently, "Louie, tell me quickly, did Gabriel come?"
Jessica, in her anxiety, grabbed Louie's arm.
Her soft little hands were cold and trembling slightly.
Louie couldn't bear it.
So he could only change the subject, "Mrs. Walton, you must be hungry. I've already asked someone to prepare..."
But before he could finish, Jessica interrupted him.
"Louie." She let go of him, her pale face was touched by a faint hint of anger, "Why aren't you answering me directly? Why are you changing the subject?"
"I'm asking you now, I just want to know if Gabriel came yesterday. He was taking care of me, he was with me, right?"
Louie pressed his lips together, not daring to look at Jessica.
Feeling the coldness of her hands, Louie frowned and said, "Mrs. Walton, you've just recovered from a serious illness, and you're dressed too lightly. I'll go get you a coat."
"Louie!"
Jessica called his name, her eyes wide open, staring at him.
She was very angry.
How could Louie not feel it?
Finally, Louie said, "Mrs. Walton, do you want to know?"
"Yes," Jessica replied firmly.
Louie clenched his fists.
After a few seconds, Louie seemed to make a decision. He slowly raised his head, looking at Jessica, and answered seriously and firmly.
"Mrs. Walton, you were very ill yesterday, with a recurring fever, so your consciousness was impaired, and you had hallucinations. Mr. Gutierrez did not come here."
Hearing this answer, Jessica was very disappointed.
Her heart turned colder with every passing moment.
Gabriel didn't come?
So, did she get it wrong?
But those faint voices and blurry images were so real!
How could it be fake?
No, she didn't believe it.
Jessica raised her head, looking seriously into Louie's eyes, "Louie, say it again. You're lying to me, right? I felt Gabriel was here."
"Mrs. Walton, it will be the same if I say it again. Mr. Gutierrez didn't come. If you don't believe me, you can ask others."
Jessica looked at the housekeeper and the few people standing around.
They all said in unison, "Mrs. Walton, no one came here yesterday."
No, it couldn't be. She trusted her judgment.
Gabriel came. He must have come.
Gabriel even held her and kissed the tears on her face.
Now, those images were becoming clearer.
But why were they all hiding it from her, lying to her?
"No, you're lying to me. Gabriel came. I'm sure Gabriel came."
"I'm going to find him to confirm."
With that, Jessica turned and walked out.
