Chapter 258 I Will Never Let Go

Jessica was momentarily stunned. "Vincent, this is so sudden. Can I think about it?"

"Okay." Vincent nodded.

After thinking for a while, Jessica spoke, "Vincent, I can go with you to see your mother, but you have to promise me that once she gets better, you will explain everything to her."

"Sure, don't worry. You just need to visit her once. I'll handle everything else," Vincent said.

"Alright." she nodded.

"I'll pick you up after work," he said with a smile.

After reaching an agreement, Vincent left first.

Jessica also walked towards the department, but after a few steps, she suddenly felt a tight grip on her wrist.

"Vincent, is there something else..." Jessica asked instinctively without thinking.

But when she saw Gabriel's face, she stopped abruptly.

"What are you doing here?" Jessica looked at him in disbelief.

Weren't they just separated? He was still angry, and his wounds were still torn and not healed.

Now he's walking around; when will those wounds ever heal?

"Do you really not want to see me?" Gabriel misunderstood her, his heart sinking, feeling cold all over.

"That's not what I meant," she explained.

"Then what do you mean? You don't care about me at all? You couldn't wait to come down just to see Vincent?" Gabriel retorted.

Jessica looked at him, speechless.

She wanted to explain, but seeing his cold and indifferent face, she suddenly didn't know how to start.

Forgot it. Even if she explained, he wouldn't believe her in this state.

"Gabriel, no, I just ran into Vincent at the hospital," she paused for a while and said.

"Just ran into him and talked for so long? You even made plans to have coffee together?" he continued to ask.

"That's because he has helped me many times. This coffee was something we planned a long time ago. I promised to treat him to coffee when he returned safely. We've both been busy, and I couldn't fulfill that promise until today when we happened to meet, so I thought it was a good time to do it," she explained.

Hearing her explanation, Gabriel felt a bit better.

But he still felt uncomfortable.

Because he had heard their entire conversation.

"Jessica," Gabriel called her, his voice suddenly very low, "Have you decided to be with him?"

Jessica was extremely surprised and asked in disbelief, "When did I say I wanted to be with Vincent? We're just friends."

Gabriel sneered, "I heard it all. He confessed to you, asked you to be his girlfriend, and you agreed."

Jessica opened her mouth, completely shocked, not knowing where to start.

After a moment of silence, she explained, "You heard wrong. Vincent's mother is seriously ill. She has always wanted him to settle down, so he asked me to pretend to be his girlfriend to visit her.

"This way, his mother might feel better and recover faster."

Even though she said this, Gabriel still looked unhappy.

She had been his wife, his girlfriend.

Even if it was in the past, he still felt a sense of ownership over her.

Even if she was just pretending to be Vincent's girlfriend, it was fake, but what if it happened again, and again, and even more?

Wouldn't that just increase their chances of being together?

What if they developed feelings over time?

So, Gabriel's expression remained unchanged.

He suddenly reached out, grabbed her wrist, and started walking ahead.

"Hey, Gabriel, let go of me. Where are you taking me?" She spoke while gently trying to break free.

Considering his wounds, she didn't dare to resist too much, only struggling lightly.

But he held her too tightly, and she couldn't break free at all.

"Where are you taking me? I have to go to work." She shouted, but he ignored her completely.

She kept saying, "Stop, Gabriel, stop. Slow down, your wounds haven't healed yet. If you keep walking like this, they'll tear and get infected. The doctor already warned you not to tear them again."

Otherwise, it would be really troublesome.

At this moment, Gabriel quickened his pace, pulling her into the stairwell.

He quickly closed the stairwell door.

Instantly, they were isolated in another world, with only her and Gabriel inside.

The stairwell was dim, with only a faint light coming in.

It was quiet inside, exceptionally silent.

"Gabriel, what are you gonna..." Before Jessica could finish her sentence, he suddenly moved forward, pinning her against the wall with his arms.

Her heart pounded, and she didn't dare to look up, keeping her head down.

But he reached out, forcefully lifting her chin, making her meet his dark eyes.

At the same time, he spoke in a deep voice, "You want me to slow down? Afraid my wounds will tear and get infected? Jessica, you still care about me, don't you?"

She bit her lip, remaining silent.

Of course, she cared.

How could she not care?

"I know you still care about me," Gabriel said, seeing her silence.

She still kept her lips tightly shut, not answering.

She did care about him.

But there was no need to express it anymore. She could keep it to herself.

Seeing her silence, Gabriel lost his patience.

At the same time, he was both anxious and angry.

Raising his voice, he asked again, "Jessica, speak.

"Tell me you still care about me.

"Jessica, answer me, answer me now!"

As he shouted her name again, he couldn't hold back anymore.

One hand grabbed her shoulder. The other lifted her chin.

He lowered his head, his lips press down hard on hers.

As if to prove something, Gabriel kissed her fiercely, using all his strength.

The whole process was like a storm, with no gentleness at all.

"Let..." Jessica barely managed to utter a word before her lips were seized again, greedily occupied, unwilling to let go.

Her lips were almost numb, and she could hardly breathe.

But he showed no sign of stopping, still holding her tightly.

"Gabriel, let go of me." Finally finding a gap, she gasped for air, shouting angrily.

He smirked, grabbing her hand and pulling her into his arms.

His dominant words echoed, "Jessica, don't even think about it. I will never let you go in this lifetime."
