Chapter 441 Being Shown Off

Next, another message appeared before Gabriel.

Jessica: [And that table of food, don't you think it's a bit too girly for you two guys? All the desserts are heart-shaped.]

This was a big misunderstanding.

Gabriel quickly typed a response and sent it back.

Gabriel: [It was hard to get a reservation at this couple's restaurant. I planned to bring you here today, but you heartlessly left me.]

Gabriel: [Wouldn't it be a waste not to eat it? Otherwise, why would I be eating at a couple's restaurant with Henry?]

Jessica finally sent back a few laughing emojis.

Gabriel continued: [I ordered a few dishes specifically for you. I'm trying them first. If they taste good, I'll bring you here again. If not, we'll find another place.]

Jessica: [Alright, enjoy your meal. Chelsea and I are about to eat too.]

Putting down his phone, Gabriel seriously tasted a few of the desserts from the restaurant. They were quite good, so he nodded in approval.

Next to him, Henry looked at him in surprise. "Gabriel, you like desserts?"

"Not really, I rarely eat them, but Jessica likes them."

Saying this, he looked at the large table of food and then seriously said to Henry, "I'm just tasting them for Jessica. Did you think I ordered all this for you?"

Henry was silent.

He hadn't done anything, yet Gabriel was showing off his love.

Before leaving, Gabriel looked back at the couple's restaurant and said meaningfully, "The food is good. I used up the opportunity to bring you here today. Next time, remember to return the favor so I can bring Jessica."

Henry nodded. "Okay!"

A while later, before parting ways, Henry suddenly looked at Gabriel and asked, "Gabriel, do you think Chelsea would like it if I brought her here?"

Gabriel looked at him, a bit gratified. "You finally get it."

Henry immediately understood. "Thanks, Gabriel!"

"Girls like these kinds of things with a sense of ceremony. Make it romantic," Gabriel advised.

Then Gabriel set off to pick up Jessica.

Henry followed. "Gabriel, are you going to pick up Jessica? I'll go with you. I'll pick up Chelsea."

Henry finally got it this time.

In the car, Henry sent a message to Chelsea: [I'll come to pick you up in a bit.]

When Chelsea saw his profile picture and message, her eyes couldn't help but redden.

Looking at their chat history from the previous day, she felt even more aggrieved.

At that time, both Henry and Chelsea were angry, so their words weren't kind.

But some of Henry's words were hurtful, and being a straightforward man, he didn't know how to comfort a girl.

Her eyes reddened again, and Chelsea turned away in discomfort.

She replied to the message: [No need, I can drive myself!]

She regretted it as soon as she sent it, but it was already out, and her pride wouldn't let her retract it.

Putting down her phone, she wiped her eyes and looked at the table full of delicious food. "Jessica, let's eat. I haven't celebrated your return yet!"

"A toast to Jessica!"

Seeing Chelsea raise her glass, Jessica also raised hers. "Thank you!"

As soon as she took a small sip, Chelsea downed her entire glass of red wine.

Then she quickly poured herself a second glass. "Jessica, knowing you're alive and well, and that Gabriel has found you, I'm happy. You don't know how much Gabriel has suffered these past years. Many times when I visited him, I saw him sitting silently with your photo, not talking or smoking."

"He would sit in one spot for an entire afternoon or evening."

"During that time, I was afraid he would become depressed!"

Even though these things had passed, hearing Chelsea talk about them hurt Jessica for him.

She didn't know her departure had hurt Gabriel so much.

If it weren't for the misunderstanding and Freddy's illness, she would never have left.

"These five years, I thought about him day and night abroad. It's because we've lost each other that we cherish each other more now."

"That's great, Jessica. You and Gabriel have finally come through the hard times. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together."

With that, Chelsea downed another glass.

Soon, she poured a third glass.

Chelsea raised her glass again: "Jessica, this one is to congratulate you on having such adorable twin boys, Freddy and Gilbert. That's a blessing many people can only dream of."

As Chelsea was about to drink it all, Jessica stood up and stopped her.

"You're not good with alcohol. A little is fine, but too much and you'll get drunk."

Saying this, Jessica took her glass and set it aside.

Chelsea lowered her head, silent for a while.

After a moment, she suddenly looked up, her pretty face already streaked with tears, her voice filled with sorrow.

"I want to get drunk. It's better that way."

"If I'm drunk, I won't feel so bad."

Knowing she had a lot to say, Jessica immediately sat beside her and held her hand.

"If you trust me, you can tell me anything."

"Jessica." As soon as she said the name, Chelsea couldn't hold back her tears: "That jerk Henry, he wants to divorce me."

"Who brought up the divorce? You or him?" Jessica asked cautiously.

When a woman brings up divorce, she often wants to be coaxed. A little sweet talk might solve it.

When a man brings up divorce, he's usually already made up his mind.

After stopping her sobs, Chelsea replied, "I did, but I was just angry and said it without thinking. I just wanted him to comfort me. I didn't want a divorce."

"But he agreed without even thinking. He must have wanted to divorce me for a long time. Otherwise, why would he agree so readily?"

The more she spoke, the sadder Chelsea became.

Jessica patted her hand and patiently advised, "From the way Henry looked just now, he doesn't want a divorce. He seemed angry, just like you. He might have agreed in the heat of the moment. Don't take it too seriously."

"Marriage is different from dating. When problems arise, you have to solve them and fix them. Gabriel and I missed out on five years because of too many misunderstandings and lack of communication."

"Trust me, go back and have a good talk with Henry. Tell each other what's in your hearts."

Chelsea was still very upset, throwing a bit of a tantrum. "I won't. He's so straightforward, always opposing me, never comforting me."

"Maybe he will today!"

"How could he change in one day?" Chelsea didn't believe it.

At that moment, the door to the private room opened.

Gabriel and Henry walked in together.

Seeing Chelsea, Henry immediately walked over, his voice very gentle. "I'm here to take you home!"
