Chapter 190 Gabriel, Don't Let me Down

Quentin's face darkened as he listened, but he softened his voice and coaxed, "This dress looks good. The color suits you. Trust me, just wear this one."

Grace raised her voice, clearly unhappy. "Besides the color, what's good about this dress? The style is hideous. Quentin, I'm a celebrity followed by many fans. How can I go out in this?"

"Can you get me another one?" Grace pleaded gently.

Quentin thought she was right, but he quickly ran through the store's inventory in his mind. The other dresses were all a bit too revealing—low necklines, lace cutouts, or just too cute and sexy.

So, Quentin didn't agree.

Grace didn't agree either, and they were at a stalemate.

Finally, Quentin looked at her and half-threatened, "In the fitting room right now, there are no other clothes besides this dress in my hands. Would you rather wear this one, or go out in nothing? If you choose the latter, I'll wrap you in my coat and carry you back."

Grace fell silent. She admitted she was scared. In the end, she had to compromise and put on the extremely conservative dress Quentin had chosen for her—a black long dress that covered her from head to toe, not even showing her ankles.

However, when Quentin saw Grace, he regretted it. It was a very ordinary dress, but on her, it looked stunning. The black dress outlined her curvy figure, making her whole shape very aesthetically pleasing, driving people crazy with just one look.

"Let's go home," Quentin said, grabbing Grace's hand and leaving the mall.

Meanwhile, Jessica was carrying a few bags, just about to leave the mall, when she unexpectedly ran into Sarah. Jessica ignored her, pretending she hadn't seen her. But Sarah deliberately walked over, swaggering.

"Jessica? Why didn't you even say hi when you saw me?" Sarah sneered.

Jessica glanced at her coldly, not even bothering to speak.

Sarah got even more infuriated. "Say something! Aren't you usually very bold? Why are you chickening out now?"

"Move."

Sarah reached out to slap Jessica's face, but Jessica coldly lifted her eyelids and caught Sarah's hand mid-air. "Sarah, I've been too polite to you before, which gave you the courage to provoke me. Now, listen carefully, from now on, I won't let you bully me anymore."

"You better watch yourself. I don't want you to regret it and cry later." Jessica added.

Unexpectedly, Sarah laughed as if she had heard the biggest joke. She held her stomach with one hand and pointed at Jessica with the other, laughing so hard she couldn't catch her breath.

"Haha, make me regret?" Sarah laughed.

"Jessica, are you crazy? What makes you think so? If it weren't for Xavier, do you think your gambler father could have made you marry Gabriel? And your shabby, stinking family background—if it weren't for saving Xavier's life, you wouldn't even be fit to be a servant for the Walton family."

"If you know what's good for you, you'd give up the Walton family's hostess position. That spot belongs to Diana, and no one else can handle it." Sarah threatened.

Jessica sneered. She couldn't believe Sarah was still backing Diana, but she had to admit, the loyalty was kind of touching.

"I have to say, I'm a bit envious of Diana, having someone so devoted to her." Jessica said.

"Of course, Diana is the only one worthy of Gabriel in my eyes. You can never replace her." Sarah said.

"You're wrong. I am who I am. I've never tried to replace anyone. And you can't make decisions for Gabriel. I am his wife, and that's a fact no one can change." Jessica said.

Jessica kept their impending divorce a secret. Sarah was so arrogant; if she knew about the divorce, she'd be unbearable.

"Jessica, don't get cocky. Sooner or later, that position will be Diana's."

"Do you think you've won just because she went abroad? No way. She'll be the final winner. Let's wait and see." Sarah's eyes gleamed with pride.

Jessica didn't have time for this and walked away. Sarah, naturally, stomped her feet in anger but couldn't do anything.

As Jessica walked further, Sarah shouted, "Jessica, haven't you thought about Gabriel running into Diana on his business trip abroad?"

Jessica stopped in her tracks. Seeing this, Sarah pressed on, "What do you think will happen between them?"

Seeing Jessica's resolve waver, Sarah pushed further, "Or even, will they reconcile?"

Jessica had worried about this ever since Gabriel mentioned his trip. But hearing Sarah say it out loud made her feel oddly calm. Worrying was useless. She might as well wait calmly.

Jessica turned around, her blue eyes locking onto Sarah's. "Maybe you're right. They might meet, they might sit together, but I trust Gabriel."

Sarah sneered, "Jessica, don't you know the most untrustworthy thing in this world is a man's word?"

"He's your brother."

"So what if he's my brother? A man's word can't be trusted. Jonah had an affair before, and Gabriel is Jonah's son. Do you really believe he can resist?"

Taking a deep breath, Jessica nodded, her eyes firm. "Yes, I do. I believe in Gabriel. He's my husband."

With that, she left the mall without looking back. Jessica's heart was anxious and restless, but she kept telling herself to stay calm and composed.

On the way back, the moon was big and bright, making the road exceptionally white. Jessica looked up and realized she missed him very much.

'Gabriel, are you okay over there? Is the moon as round and bright?'

'Although I don't know the outcome, this time, I choose to trust you without hesitation, just like when I chose to marry you.'

'So, will you let me down?'
