Chapter 397 Take Good Care of Jessica
Jessica shook her head and said, "I'm sorry, Vincent. I'm troubling you. Five more minutes, can you give me just five more minutes?"
"I know I shouldn't be so willful. I promise you, in five minutes, I'll go back with you obediently."
Although he was worried about her health, seeing Jessica's longing and pleading eyes, Vincent softened.
"Alright, just five more minutes."
"Thank you, Vincent," A weak smile appeared on Jessica's pale face.
However, as soon as she finished speaking and turned around, she suddenly blacked out and lost consciousness.
"Jessica!"
With a shout, Vincent immediately caught her.
Without any delay, he carried Jessica straight to the obstetrics department upstairs.
The doctor asked Jessica some basic questions and then angrily looked at Vincent. "This is outrageous."
"What kind of husband are you? Your wife is already weak, she had a massive hemorrhage giving birth to twins, then a car accident, and a C-section."
"She's still in postpartum recovery. How can you let her exert herself like this, taking her out in the middle of the night in such cold weather? She'll end up with long-term health issues."
Vincent didn't explain or argue.
He humbly accepted, "I'm sorry, you're right. I didn't take good care of her. I'll take good care of her when we get home."
"Yes, your wife went through hell to give you two children, almost losing her life. She sacrificed so much, you must treat her well."
"Yes, you're right. Please tell me all the precautions, and I will strictly follow your instructions."
The doctor finally calmed down a bit and continued, "She had a C-section and a massive hemorrhage, leading to severe blood and energy loss. The postpartum recovery should ideally be 42 days. During this period, she should not leave her room, especially not in the cold of the night."
"No exposure to wind, no cold, no staying up late, no bending over to take care of the babies. As the father, you must take the responsibility of caring for your wife and children during the postpartum recovery."
The doctor gave many instructions.
Vincent listened attentively, noting everything down in his phone's memo.
He listed everything very clearly.
After finishing, the doctor looked at him and earnestly advised, "I've delivered so many babies, and this mother suffered. It's truly heartbreaking."
"I won't say much more. The postpartum recovery check-up will show everything."
"I will take good care of her," Vincent promised firmly.
When Jessica woke up, she was in the hospital room.
She had an IV in her hand and felt much better.
Seeing her awake, Vincent immediately asked with concern, "How do you feel? Still dizzy?"
"Much better."
After the IV was finished and the nurse removed the needle, Vincent quickly took off his long coat and wrapped Jessica tightly in it, even putting the hood on her and fastening the buttons, not letting any wind in.
"Vincent, are you trying to turn me into a mummy?" Jessica asked.
Vincent bent down, picked up the wrapped Jessica, and headed towards the elevator and the underground parking lot.
"Vincent, I can walk by myself."
"You're a bit weak and just fainted. I can't let you walk alone."
Vincent insisted, only feeling at ease after he had her settled in the car.
When Vincent and Jessica arrived, it was already around four or five in the morning.
As soon as Jessica opened the door, she smelled the rich aroma of chicken soup.
"Why is the maid making chicken soup in the middle of the night?"
Jessica wondered, and Vincent explained, "The doctor said your postpartum recovery should be 42 days. During this time, I must ensure you recover well and don't end up with any health issues."
"I'll also strictly follow the diet plan to nourish your body."
"I asked the maid to make the chicken soup. It's very fresh and has been simmering all night. You must be hungry, have some before going to sleep."
Jessica nodded. "Okay."
As soon as they sat at the table, the maid had already served the chicken soup.
The soup was filled with many ingredients, looking very appetizing and rich in aroma.
Moreover, the table was filled with nutritious food.
"Thank you, Vincent. I don't know what else to say."
"Jessica, I don't need your thanks. I just want you to be healthy."
After eating, Jessica went upstairs.
The maid was in the room watching the babies. When Jessica went to check, the two babies were sleeping soundly in the bed.
Their tiny lips were tightly closed, and their little hands were raised outside the blanket, looking so cute with their pink little hands.
Especially their delicate skin, as smooth as peeled eggs.
Jessica felt her heart melt just looking at them.
These days, every time she saw them, Jessica felt incredibly grateful.
Grateful that God, despite all the hardships and suffering, had blessed her with these two babies safely.
For this alone, she had to thank God for His kindness.
The two babies were very well-behaved, eating and sleeping, sleeping and eating.
They didn't fuss at all.
So Jessica didn't ask about their behavior, but the maid spoke up, "Ms. Morgan, you're finally back. The two babies seemed to sense your absence and cried for a long time."
Hearing this, Jessica was quite surprised.
But more than that, she felt heartbroken.
"They cried for a long time?"
"They cried for over an hour before sleeping, they slept restlessly, waking up frequently."
The more Jessica listened, the more heartbroken she felt.
"What about the milk? Did they drink it?"
The maid shook her head. "We made formula, but they wouldn't drink it, turning their heads away."
"What about the breast milk I stored in the fridge? Did you warm it up for them?"
"We did, but they wouldn't drink it either."
As soon as the maid finished speaking, one of the babies suddenly kicked his legs and started to whimper.
Jessica immediately ran over and picked him up.
Knowing the baby hadn't eaten for several hours and was hungry, she quickly fed him.
As she fed him, she felt deeply sorry.
"I'm sorry, baby. Mommy didn't think it through and made you go hungry."
Hearing Jessica's voice and smelling her familiar scent, the baby immediately smiled, showing he was in a good mood.
At this moment, the other baby sleeping beside him also woke up.
It seemed the twins had a special bond.
Their waking behavior was identical, both kicking their little legs and making sounds.
"Don't cry, be good. Mommy will feed you after your brother, okay?" Jessica quickly comforted softly.
