Chapter 467 A Thought Arises, And It's All Heartfelt

After asking about the situation and doing a preliminary check, Tina nodded. "Very good, the surgery was successful, and the recovery is going well."

Donny Stevens, Vincent's colleague, quickly thanked her, "Thank you, Dr. Ingram. By the way, if the recovery goes well, when can I be discharged?"

Hearing this, Tina was taken aback.

Discharged?

She had forgotten such an important thing that they would be discharged once they recovered.

"Given the amount of bleeding, if everything goes well, in seven days."

"Dr. Ingram, does it have to be that long? Can it be five days?" Donny asked.

After thinking, Tina suggested based on his condition, "Although the surgery was very successful and your recovery is good, the wound needs rest. Plus, you work at the police station, and you'll need to be in good shape after you get out. So, it's better to recover well in the hospital before being discharged."

"I see."

Hearing this, Donny turned to look out the window, his face filled with worry.

Vincent observed all of this quietly.

After checking Donny's condition, Tina turned to Vincent. "Let me check your wound."

"I should be fine."

"Let's check it just to be sure. Besides, Jessica called me this morning specifically to remind me." Tina said.

Hearing Jessica's name, Vincent finally showed some emotion. "Alright."

Vincent then took off his jacket and unbuttoned his shirt.

Tina thought she had good self-control, but when she saw his well-defined chest, she couldn't help but get distracted.

Her cheeks blushed, and her heart was racing.

She tried not to look, think, or get distracted.

But while checking the wound, she couldn't help but catch glimpses.

'Tina, stay calm, stay composed!'

'Come on, you're a doctor now, and he's a patient. You can't let your mind wander.'

Trying hard to adjust her mood, she quickly checked the wound and then stood up, trying to speak in a steady voice, "You are recovering well, and the wound is starting to scab, but you still need to apply the prescribed ointment."

"This ointment is of high quality, and regular application will prevent scarring."

Vincent chuckled, "I don't care about that. It seems like something girls care more about. Besides, in our work, it's inevitable to get some scars."

He had a point.

Blinking her long eyelashes, Tina said, "Still, you should be careful. You said girls care more about it. Maybe your future wife will mind."

Vincent fell silent for a moment, feeling a twinge of pain in his chest.

He then nodded. "Alright, thank you. I'll remember your advice and apply the ointment on time."

"Well, you both rest well. I'll continue my rounds."

"Okay."

With that, Tina left the room.

"I'll go get you some breakfast," Vincent said to Donny.

Vincent left the room and saw Tina's figure. He called out, "Dr. Ingram, can I trouble you for a while?"

Tina turned around, and Vincent quickly caught up.

"Is there something you need my help with?" Tina asked.

"It's about Donny's discharge time. If possible, I hope you can discharge him in five days." Vincent said.

"Is there an important reason?"

Vincent didn't hide anything and explained, "I couldn't say this in front of him in the room, but I can tell you now."

"Donny has been under my care for the past two days. Later, other colleagues might take turns caring for him. He only has an elderly mother and a young sister at home. His mother is not in good health and has been on medication, and his sister is still in elementary school."

"In five days, it's his mother's birthday. She has been looking forward to it for a year. If he doesn't go home, she will be very worried."

After Vincent finished speaking, Tina was silent.

Then she nodded. "Alright, I'll make sure he gets discharged if possible."

"Thank you, Dr. Ingram."

"You're welcome, it's nothing."

But as she walked back, Tina felt a twinge of bitterness.

He called her Dr. Ingram.

Well, to him, she was just a doctor now.

If there was anything different, it might be that she was Jessica's friend, so he was more polite.

After buying some light breakfast from the hospital cafeteria, Vincent returned to the ward.

As soon as he entered, Donny smiled and said, "Mr. Lucas, you attract women. Everywhere you go, someone falls for you."

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

"Mr. Lucas, I'm not talking nonsense. You forgot that during missions, several daughters of the people involved fell for you. And today, Dr. Ingram, I think she likes you too."

"You're getting more and more ridiculous!"

"Mr. Lucas, I'm serious. Just now, when Dr. Ingram was checking your wound, her face turned red. She likes you."

Vincent shot him a cold look. "Are you almost fully recovered? I think you don't need seven days. You can be discharged tomorrow and start training the day after."

Donny immediately begged for mercy, "Mr. Lucas, no, please. I'll shut up."

Jessica's thoughts quickly came true. After spending a day with her, Gabriel became extremely busy.

At ten o'clock in the evening, she asked him when he would be home.

Gabriel replied, "Don't wait for me. You and the kids go to sleep first."

"Okay."

She said that, but still insisted on waiting for him on the couch.

But she was too tired and fell asleep while sitting.

When Gabriel came home, he saw Jessica lying on the couch in thin clothes. He immediately carried her to the bed and covered her with a blanket.

As soon as the blanket was on, Jessica woke up.

Seeing him, she rubbed her eyes, "Honey, you're back."

"Yes, didn't I tell you to sleep first? Why are you waiting for me? What if you catch a cold sleeping on the couch? I'd worry about you."

"I overlooked it. I'll be more careful next time. Are you hungry?"

"Not hungry. I ate before coming up. You go to sleep. I'll take a shower and join you."

"Okay." Jessica nodded.

But knowing he was back, she couldn't sleep without him holding her.

Listening to the sound of the shower, Jessica opened her eyes to look at Gilbert and Freddy.

When Gabriel finished his shower and got into bed, Jessica immediately snuggled up to him and closed her eyes in peace.

At this moment, she thought of something.

"Honey, yesterday Tina called me and said Vincent was injured. I'll go see him when I go to work tomorrow. Also, Freddy and Gilbert, have always taken good care of them, so I want to take them to see Vincent after school."

"Do you need me to go with you?" Gabriel asked.
