Chapter 451 Jack Backs Down and Begs for Mercy

Jessica listened and merely sneered disdainfully.

"If Dr. Smith keeps this attitude, then there's no need for us to talk."

"Jessica, what do you want? My mom needs to leave the police station." Jack scratched his head in frustration.

"That's funny. Your mom has nothing to do with me. Why should I be in a hurry?"

Seeing Jessica's calm and composed demeanor.

Jack finally let his guard down, sighing deeply, "Fine, you win. I give up."

"Jessica, name your conditions. I'll agree to anything as long as you withdraw the case and get my mom out as soon as possible."

Jessica smiled and looked at him. "It's rare for Dr. Smith to make a sacrifice. I need to think about it, or it would be a disservice to your status."

Looking at her, Jack spoke with restraint, "Jessica, don't go too far. Put yourself in my shoes. If your mom were locked up in the police station, how would you feel?"

Now he knew how to say "Put yourself in someone else's shoes."

She realized that some people in this world are shameless to the extreme.

When you reasoned with them, they acted rogue; when you retaliated, they shamelessly wanted to reason with you.

It was utterly ridiculous.

"Jack, when your mom tried to take and harm my child, had she ever considered what it's like for me as a mom?"

"I've said it before, the child is Gabriel's. There's nothing between us. They can't be your children. Your mom is just confused."

Jack clenched his fists.

To get his mom out sooner, he had to endure it.

"Fine, what exactly do you want?"

"I don't want anything," Jessica said firmly. "So, I won't withdraw the case."

"Patricia has done so many wrong things; she has to pay a price, or she'll only get worse."

Watching Jessica walk away, Jack gritted his teeth.

His eyes were bloodshot.

In the police station holding cell.

Danielle walked in wearing a red suit, red lipstick, and exquisite makeup, stepping into high heels.

"Patricia, you have a visitor."

Hearing this, Patricia immediately got excited, ' Jack, it must be Jack coming to get her out.'

She couldn't stand this place anymore.

Not only was it dark and damp, but the room also had many bugs.

At night, some bugs even crawled on her body and face.

When she woke up and found bugs on her face, she almost fainted.

"Jack, you came..."

Patricia shouted happily, but before she could finish her sentence.

Suddenly, seeing Danielle in front of her, her face turned terrified instantly, "Why is it you? What are you doing here?"

"Get out. I don't want to see you."

Patricia shouted and screamed in agitation.

She also yelled at the police, "Who let her in? Don't you know Danielle wants to kill me?"

"Ms. Jones, please calm down!"

But Patricia acted like a madwoman. She rushed over, grabbed the police officer's arm, and bit down hard.

Soon, Patricia was restrained.

She sat there, her face dry and pale, looking much older, with every wrinkle visible.

Her hair was a mess, looking utterly wretched.

She no longer resembled a socialite, but rather a shabby, decrepit old woman.

And this Patricia hated Danielle even more.

Why should she be in such a miserable state while Danielle could dress so glamorously and carry herself like she was above everyone else?

This contrast made Patricia even more jealous and hateful. She secretly vowed 'Danielle, don't be too pleased with yourself. I won't let you be happy for long.'

Strangely, Danielle seemed unusually calm since she saw her.

Danielle didn't even say a harsh word.

This was not like Danielle's style.

So, the quieter Danielle was, the more uneasy Patricia felt.

Danielle kept checking her watch as if waiting for something.

After a few times, Danielle finally spoke.

What made Patricia feel eerie was that she wasn't angry but smiling, "Patricia, do you think I dressed so glamorously just to highlight your wretchedness?"

"Isn't that the case?"

"Of course it is. Who told you to hurt my grandson? It's already good enough that I can control myself to sit here. But that's not the main reason I came to see you today. Patricia, I have a gift for you."

"What gift?" Patricia asked with a sneer.

Was Danielle giving her a gift?

What a joke!

Picking up her phone, Danielle dialed a number, "Are you here?"

"At the door," Jonah replied.

Hanging up the phone, Danielle looked at Patricia with elegant patience, "He'll be here soon. Don't worry, you'll be satisfied."

As soon as she finished speaking, Jonah walked in.

The moment Patricia saw him, she almost immediately covered her face with her hands, shouting in despair, "Danielle, you crazy woman, you did this on purpose!"

"Jonah, what you see is not the real me. I'm not like this. Please, turn around, don't look at my face, okay?" Patricia pleaded humbly.

After witnessing this scene, Danielle naturally lost interest in staying.

"Patricia, this is just a small lesson. Remember, if you dare to hurt my grandson again, I'll ruin you."

Stepping in her high heels, Danielle walked out like the wind.

"Wait for me!"

Seeing her leave, Jonah almost immediately turned and chased after her.

"Jonah, don't go. Stay with me, okay?" Patricia's desolate voice echoed behind him.

But Jonah had already caught up with Danielle.

Seeing him follow, Danielle said coolly, "Yesterday, knowing your lover suffered a night in the police station, you were itching to see her but didn't know which station."

"You couldn't wait to see her, right? Now, I've made it happen for you. No need to thank me."

Jonah could hear the sarcasm in Danielle's words.

"No," he said. "I didn't come to see her. I didn't feel sorry for her. I know you brought me here just to provoke her. Knowing that, I still came." Jonah said bitterly.

"Danielle, it's been five years. Haven't you felt my feelings for you?"

"When you had made love with Patricia and she gave birth to that illegitimate child, our relationship ended."
