Chapter 333 Jessica is Threatened
"You guys, who are you? I don't know you; let go of me..."
Jessica didn't get to finish her sentence before she felt a sharp pain in her neck. The next moment, she blacked out completely.
When Gabriel got downstairs, he was in a panic, searching everywhere for Jessica. After several minutes, he still couldn't find her. He called her, but no one picked up. He tried a few more times, but it was always the same—no answer.
Thinking she was mad at him, Gabriel didn't waste any time and headed straight to her house.
When Jessica woke up, she found herself in a beautifully decorated room, lying on a bed. Rubbing her head, she got up and walked towards the door. But she stopped in her tracks when she saw Patricia standing there.
"It's you? What did you bring me here for?" Jessica's eyes were filled with anger.
Patricia smiled gently. "Nothing much, just felt a bit lonely lately and wanted to chat with you."
"I don't want to chat with you."
Patricia didn't get angry, still smiling. "It's okay if you don't want to chat. We can just talk casually. I heard you and Gabriel are getting back together?"
"That's my business, none of your concern."
"Jessica, this concerns you and Jack. How can it not be my business? Don't forget you're carrying Jack's baby, my grandchild. Do you think I would let my grandchild be left out of this family?"
"I'll say it again, there's nothing between Jack and me, and the baby I'm carrying isn't his," Jessica shouted, almost breaking down. With that, she walked out.
This time, Patricia's face immediately changed. "Stop her." With Patricia's cold command, someone blocked Jessica.
"Do you know what you're doing right now? Illegal detention. I can totally sue you." Jessica glared at her with hatred.
Patricia smiled indifferently. "Jessica, don't worry. I'll let you go, but before you leave, I want to show you something."
"I don't want to see it," Jessica turned her head away. A few minutes later, she was forced into a chair. In front of her was a tablet. What was playing on the tablet was a steamy video, even more obscene than the one she had seen at Jack's place.
Taking a few deep breaths, Jessica forced herself to calm down, then looked up at Patricia, saying, "You can't threaten me. I've said it before, the woman in the video isn't me."
Patricia sneered, "Really? I knew you would say that, but take a closer look. You'll see how much this woman resembles you. Whether it's her figure, her features, or other places, she looks just like you.
"Jessica, do you want to guess how many people would believe the woman in the video isn't you if it got out? Do you think they would believe your explanation or the content of the video?"
After saying that, Patricia smiled decisively. That smile was stunning and beautiful, yet filled with malice.
Jessica shouted, "You are crazy. What exactly do you want?"
"It's simple. As long as you agree to marry Jack, this video will never see the light of day. Otherwise..."
Patricia walked behind Jessica and stopped, her voice like a demonic whisper from hell, "I'll release this video immediately. Jessica, you won't be able to explain it. Once it's out, I don't think you and Gabriel can get back together. And are you sure Gabriel can tell the woman in the video isn't you? What if he really thinks that woman is you?"
"He will definitely recognize it," Jessica said confidently.
"So what? Others won't believe it. As long as you marry him, I'll make sure everyone knows that the president of the Walton Group, the heir of the Walton Family, married a woman with a chaotic private life. By then, wherever he goes, he'll be ridiculed. He'll become the topic of everyone's conversation, the joke of everyone. Do you think you two can be happy?"
Jessica closed her eyes in pain, a tear rolling down her cheek. Although she didn't want to admit it, she knew Patricia was right. In this world, few people truly cared about the truth.
People always believed what they wanted to believe and saw what they wanted to see. Sometimes, the truth didn't matter. Or rather, once a preconceived notion was formed, even rumors became the talk of the town. As for the truth, it might not even get any attention.
She loved Gabriel, always wishing him well. How could she bear to see him become the target of everyone's criticism because of her?
"Patricia, you're simply insane," Jessica said, unable to find any other words to describe her. It was precisely because Patricia was so deranged that she was even more afraid; someone like Patricia might do anything.
But, looking at the video in front of her, Jessica felt a glimmer of hope suddenly ignite in her heart. She said, "Don't forget that the video not only has that woman but also Jack. If you release the video, your son's reputation will be ruined too. Patricia, I don't believe you would dare to show such a video in public."
Patricia smirked disdainfully, "Jessica, you are so naive. I'll blur out Jack's face. No one will know his identity. People only need to know that you cheated on Gabriel with another man. As for who that man is, no one cares."
Jessica also smiled. "Really? Aren't you afraid I'll ruin your son's reputation? Patricia, I warn you that if you dare to ruin my reputation, I'll ruin Jack's. Neither of us will gain anything."
"Jessica, I advise you to calm down. Even if Jack's identity is exposed, it won't have much impact on him. He has money and power; he can still marry and have children. But you're different. Don't forget that you're carrying a baby. Your baby might grow up being despised, looked down upon, and bullied. Can you really bear that?"
Patricia's words completely broke Jessica. Jessica stared at Patricia in despair. She could be sure that the woman in front of her was truly a lunatic.
"Jessica, if I were you, I would calmly consider the proposal. As long as you agree to marry Jack, I can guarantee you'll be well taken care of for life, and your baby will be legitimate, without anyone saying a word against it."
Jessica clenched her fists, her eyes blazing with defiance. "I'm telling you that I'd rather die than marry Jack. You can give up on that idea!"
