Chapter 342 The Baby's Condition Is Not Very Optimistic

The doctor saw how sincere and earnest she was and gave a nod. "But your condition isn't looking great right now. You need to stay in bed for the next two days and get those pregnancy-support injections."

"Got it, doc. Thanks," Jessica replied.

As soon as the doctor left, Tina walked in with breakfast. "Jessica, I overheard Mr. Walton on the phone when I came in. Sounds like his company is in some trouble."

Jessica sighed and adjusted her pillow. "Yeah, the Walton Group is having a rough time. He's got a lot on his plate, and I don't want to add to his worries. When he comes in, just tell him I'm doing much better so he can focus on work."

"Sure thing, I'll help you with that."

During breakfast, Jessica was very accommodating. Even though she felt like throwing up, she held it in so Gabriel wouldn't worry. She kept smiling while eating.

She looked at Gabriel and said, "Gabriel, the doctor just checked on me and said my condition has stabilized, so you don't need to worry. After breakfast, you should head back to the company."

"Do you want me gone that badly?" Gabriel teased, pretending to frown.

Jessica smiled shyly and said, "Well, given your capabilities, everyone must be waiting for you to manage the Walton Group."

After a moment of silence, Gabriel finally looked up and said, "Alright, but you have to take good care of yourself and the babies."

"Don't worry, I will."

As soon as Gabriel left, Jessica jumped out of bed and vomited violently. Right after, she felt a strong sense of wetness and intense abdominal pain.

"Tina, it hurts so much," Jessica pounded on the door and called out weakly.

Luckily, Tina heard the noise and rushed in. "Jessica, what's wrong?" she asked, supporting Jessica.

Jessica frowned, her face full of pain. "I think the bleeding's gotten worse. Please get the doctor."

Tina, looking anxious, quickly helped Jessica lie down and then went to call the doctor.

When the doctor came in, Jessica's pants were already stained with blood, and the smell was strong.

Seeing the amount of blood, the doctor looked worried. "This isn't good. You need to be mentally prepared. Where's your husband? In this situation, it's best to call him back."

"He has important work to do. I can manage on my own," Jessica said, trying to stay firm.

"But your condition..." The doctor sighed, "I really think you should have him here."

Seeing the doctor's insistence, Tina also said, "Jessica, he probably hasn't gone far. Should I..."

Jessica shook her head, her face pale. "No, don't tell him."

"If he finds out, he'll be distracted and won't be able to focus on work. The Walton Group was founded by his grandfather; it's his life's work. Neither he nor I can bear to see his grandfather's efforts fall apart."

"Besides, even if he comes back now, he can't do anything but stay with me. The treatment still depends on the doctor," Jessica said, her determination firm.

At this moment, Tina was moved by Jessica's strength and courage. Nodding, she said, "Alright, I won't tell him."

"Okay." Breathing a sigh of relief, Jessica leaned back against the bed and closed her eyes.

During the injection, Jessica kept her eyes open, feeling wide awake. She gently placed her hand on her belly and whispered, "Babies, you gotta be strong. Your dad's dealing with a lot right now. I already feel bad for not being able to help, so we need to be okay and not add to his worries."

"Babies, I believe in you. You're gonna be just fine, right?" she continued softly.

Feeling tired from talking, Jessica hummed a little tune. Though it was tough, she tried to keep herself in a good mood. She knew that staying positive was really important.

Maybe the injections worked, or maybe the babies had some kind of telepathic connection with her, or maybe her good mood boosted her immune system. Whatever it was, after a night's sleep, Jessica was thrilled to find she wasn't bleeding anymore the next day.

The doctor was pleased too and reminded her excitedly, "You still need to stay in bed and rest for the next few days. If there's no more bleeding, you can relax."

"Okay, thank you, doctor." Jessica smiled, feeling much more relieved. "Babies, you are so good. Do you want to hear a song?"

Another two days passed, and Jessica didn't bleed at all. Plus, the test results were very promising; all the data looked great.

Meanwhile, Tina's leave was up, and the hospital couldn't grant her more time off, so she had to go back to work.

After another two days in the hospital, it was time for Jessica to be discharged. Early in the morning, the driver arrived, bringing a maid to help pack and take care of her.

As she got into the car, Jessica felt quite emotional. She had spent several days in the hospital, but fortunately, the results were positive.

Due to her pregnancy, Jessica quickly fell asleep as soon as the car started moving. When she woke up, they were at a traffic light.

"Excuse me, shouldn't we go straight? It seems like you're turning left," Jessica asked, puzzled.

The driver smiled kindly and explained, "Mrs. Walton, Mr. Walton directly instructed me to take you home."

Jessica could hardly believe her ears. After a while, she laughed, overjoyed, "Really? He's really taking me home?"

"Yes, Mr. Walton said it himself. It's true."

Thinking about seeing him soon, Jessica felt excited all the way. As soon as she arrived at the Ancestral villa, she felt a wave of familiarity and warmth.

Knowing Jessica was coming back, Timothy and Charlotte had already arranged for people to wait for her.

Charlotte immediately came over to support her at the sight of Jessica. "Mrs. Walton, you're finally back. Mr. Walton said you were coming back, and Timothy and I were so happy."

"Where are Danielle and Gabriel?" Jessica asked.

"Mrs. Danielle Walton and Mr. Walton have been very busy these days. They haven't been home for over ten days. The whole Ancestral villa has been so quiet with just a few of us here. Now that you're back, it finally feels a bit like home again."

"By the way, Mr. Walton also said that you're pregnant with twins."

Jessica nodded gently. "Yes."

Charlotte was even more excited. "Oh my, it's truly a blessing from God. Mr. Xavier Walton will be very happy when he finds out."

Timothy also nodded repeatedly. "Yes, it's wonderful news. Mrs. Walton, don't worry. We'll take good care of you and the babies."

"Timothy, Charlotte, thank you for everything."

As soon as Jessica finished speaking, a maid came running in excitedly, shouting, "Mr. Walton is back!"
