Chapter 262 Deliberately Leaving a Lip Mark on Jessica's Neck 2
When they entered the hospital room, the scene inside was somewhat reminiscent of the day Jessica visited the Lucas Manor to see him.
In the spacious hospital room, Alexis lay on the bed, surrounded by Ennifer and Madison. They were chatting and laughing, creating a very harmonious picture.
Hearing the door open, they all turned to look at the entrance.
When they saw Jessica carrying gifts and Vincent holding her hand, everyone was stunned.
Jessica instantly felt a bit shy and embarrassed.
Her face slightly reddened, and she awkwardly moved her fingers.
Vincent, being very attentive and perceptive, quickly noticed.
He squeezed Jessica's small hand, giving her a reassuring signal, and then turned to Alexis and said, "Mom, I'm here to see you."
His gaze quickly shifted to Ennifer and Madison. "You guys are scaring her a bit."
Madison immediately adjusted her posture and put away her surprised expression.
Ennifer's expression also quickly returned to normal.
Alexis, however, was still in shock. Because of her illness, her face was a bit pale, but she was still very beautiful.
Especially when her gaze fell on her son's and Jessica's tightly clasped hands, a smile immediately spread across her pale face, and she was overcome with excitement.
"Vincent, who is this person you brought? Aren't you going to introduce her?" Madison blinked mischievously and cutely.
Alexis immediately gave Madison a look, thinking that Madison was indeed clever, quickly seeing through her thoughts.
Vincent led Jessica forward, and they stopped in front of Alexis's bed.
Then, he spoke, "Mom, this is Jessica. You've met her before. We're together now; she's my girlfriend."
Even though she knew it was just a pretense, Jessica couldn't help but blush when she heard the word "girlfriend".
Madison said, "Mom, see? I told you last time when Jessica came to our house that my brother likes her. You know my brother; apart from his married female colleagues, he's never brought any other woman home.
"Jessica is the first, so you can tell that my brother must be interested in her."
Alexis was overjoyed. After waiting for so long, she suddenly found out that her son had a girlfriend.
And it was a girl she liked and approved of.
How could she not be happy?
She was so happy that she felt as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders.
"Mrs. Lucas," Jessica let go of Vincent's hand and stepped forward, speaking as she placed the items she was holding on the table.
Then she said softly, "Mrs. Lucas, I'm sorry I left in a hurry last time. When Vincent told me you were ill, I thought I'd come to see you and bring you some of your favorite snacks and gifts. I hope you like them."
Alexis felt her voice was like the sound of a clear spring, very pleasant.
"Come, Jessica, come over here. You don't mind sitting next to me for a while, do you?" Alexis asked.
Jessica stepped forward, smiling, "Mrs. Lucas, of course not."
As soon as she walked over, Alexis reached out and grabbed her hand.
The moment Alexis held her hand, Jessica felt a warmth spread through her heart and suddenly had the urge to cry.
The reason she agreed to pretend to be Vincent's girlfriend was not only because Vincent had helped her many times and she felt bad refusing, but also because of Alexis.
The first time she met Alexis, Jessica liked her very much.
Because Alexis's demeanor reminded her a lot of her own mother.
Now, being closer, Jessica felt even more that Alexis's aura and presence were very similar to her mother's.
In an instant, she thought of her mother.
Fortunately, she held back, or she feared she would cry.
Because she really missed her mother.
Alexis chatted with Jessica about some everyday matters, and Jessica responded to each one.
Unknowingly, almost an hour had passed.
At this moment, a nurse came in to remind them that the patient needed plenty of rest and should sleep early.
"Mom, you should get some sleep," Vincent said at the right moment.
Although reluctant, Alexis nodded. "Alright. Jessica, you must come to see me often. I feel much better whenever I see you."
Jessica felt a bit troubled.
Because she was just pretending to be Vincent's girlfriend, she feared that if she came a second time, there would be more times in the future. The more she came, the easier it would be to get caught, and things between her and Vincent would become more complicated.
She could tell that Alexis genuinely liked her and was truly happy.
So, she didn't want to deceive her.
If Alexis knew the truth, she would probably be very sad.
Vincent said, "Mom, Jessica is busy with her internship and school thesis right now. Once she's done with that and you're better, I'll bring her home to see you.
"And I'm also busy with work lately, so I can't bring her here."
Before Alexis could speak, Madison deliberately said in a sour tone, "Mom, look, they aren't even officially married yet, and Vincent is already protective."
"Madison?" Vincent raised his voice.
Madison pretended to be aggrieved. "Mom, look at Vincent. This is a typical case of having a girlfriend and forgetting his sister."
"Jessica, don't take it to heart. Madison is just messing around; she's joking. She's just a bit upset that her brother has a girlfriend. She's actually happier than anyone," Alexis said.
"Of course," Madison pouted.
"Mrs. Lucas, don't worry, I understand. You should rest well and take care of yourself," Jessica said.
"Alright." Alexis nodded.
Jessica let go of Alexis's hand and got up to leave.
As Jessica turned to the side, Alexis inadvertently noticed a red mark near her ear.
Squinting slightly, Alexis looked more closely.
No mistake.
She looked very carefully and was sure she wasn't wrong.
What she saw was a lip mark on Jessica's neck, and it was quite deep.
So, it seemed that her son and Jessica were progressing well. Thinking that she might soon have a grandchild, Alexis was overjoyed.
When Jessica turned, not only Alexis but Madison also saw it.
Being young and straightforward, Madison didn't hold back and directly said what she thought while holding Alexis's hand, "Mom, I think you should be prepared. With my brother and Jessica's good relationship, you might soon become a grandmother."
As Jessica heard this, her face instantly turned red.
Her hands were a bit awkwardly placed.
"Madison, don't talk nonsense," Vincent lightly scolded.
Madison pouted, "Vincent, I'm not talking nonsense. It's true. Look at Jessica's neck. It's all your doing, and you're embarrassed to admit it?"
