Chapter 694 Provocation 1

"What are you doing?"

"With so many people watching, aren't you ashamed to be pulling and tugging like this?"

Beth was indeed too angry to think straight.

So she completely lost control of her temper.

"You misunderstood. Grace almost fell, and I just helped her out of courtesy. It's not what you think," Marlon explained.

Grace quickly pushed Marlon away.

"Thank you for helping me."

After saying that, Grace lifted her dress and walked away.

Beth, however, seemed to go mad and insisted on chasing after her, shouting, "Grace, wait a minute."

Grace ignored her disdainfully and kept walking as usual.

Beth ran up desperately and grabbed her.

Beth's voice rose several notches, "Grace, I told you to wait, didn't you hear me?"

Linda also caught up and immediately retorted unceremoniously.

"Ms. Trevino, what authority do you have to speak to Grace like that?"

Beth was momentarily at a loss for words, but she quickly raised her head and stood in front of Grace.

She spoke haughtily, "Grace, I'm warning you as the lead actress of this show. Marlon and I are the main characters, and we are the most anticipated and spotlighted duo by the audience."

"Don't even think about taking my leading man or stealing my spotlight as the lead actress, or I won't let it slide."

Grace sneered disdainfully and looked at her amusedly.

"Beth, if you have delusions, I suggest you go to the hospital for treatment instead of throwing a tantrum at me."

"Let me reiterate, I'm not interested in your leading man or your lead actress role."

Beth, of course, didn't believe her. "Don't think I don't know. Marlon used to pursue you. What? Now that you're down and out, and he's become a popular star, you're regretting it and want to get back with him, right?"

Grace replied, "You're overthinking it. Let me tell you, the man I didn't care for years ago, I still don't care for now. I'm warning you, stop following me."

"Why should I listen to you?" Beth retorted defiantly.

Grace smiled lightly, "Fine, then I'll invite Marlon to dinner tonight to thank him."

"Grace, you..."

"What about me?"

Beth's face turned red with anger. "Fine, you win."

Since it was Grace's last scene, she skipped changing on set and planned to change in her room, shower, and return the clothes.

As soon as Grace changed her clothes, Linda noticed a shocking red swelling on her leg.

"Grace, don't move. When did you hurt your leg?"

"What?" Grace was confused.

Linda pressed on it, and Grace immediately cried out in pain, "It hurts, Linda."

"Now you know it hurts. You've been toughing it out without saying a word."

Grace stuck out her tongue sheepishly, "I felt a bit of pain before, but I didn't think much of it. I thought it was just from suddenly dancing."

"It looks like you twisted it just now."

Linda immediately said nervously, "Don't worry, I'll go buy some medicine. It's my fault for forgetting to prepare some common injury medicine."

Just as Linda was about to leave, the doorbell rang.

When she opened it, Mark was standing outside.

"Here," he handed over the medicine.

Linda was stunned for a moment. "Mark, how did you know Grace was hurt?"

"That's not important. Just apply it quickly."

"Okay, thank you!"

When Grace came out of the shower, Linda was already sitting on the sofa with a new bottle of medicine in her hand.

"Linda, how did you get it so quickly?"

Linda immediately went to support her and explained, "Mark brought the medicine."

"What?"

Grace was extremely surprised.

While Linda was applying the medicine to Grace, Grace was lost in thought.

"Linda, can I ask you a question? Do you think Mark is a bit..."

"A bit different?" Linda asked.

"Yes, you feel it too?" Grace was uneasy.

Linda finished applying the medicine and put away the bottle. "More than different, I think he's particularly special towards you. If I'm not mistaken, he's probably fallen for you."

"What?"

Grace was so excited that she completely forgot about her injured foot and stood up.

As a result, she accidentally kicked the edge of the sofa again.

Grace immediately winced in pain.

Linda quickly helped her sit down, "Be careful. Why are you so excited?"

"I don't want to drag him down."

"A little affection between a man and a woman is perfectly normal. How is that dragging him down?"

"You don't understand," Grace sighed deeply, "Quentin..."

As soon as she mentioned it, Linda understood, "Right, if Quentin finds out someone likes you, who knows what he'll do?"

"So I should keep my distance from Mark. I don't want to hurt him."

In another room.

Beth and Marlon were fighting.

Out of anger, Beth had smashed half the things in the hotel room.

The floor was littered with broken pieces, and the whole room was a mess.

Beth was disheveled, tears streaming down her face as she cried and smashed things.

When she got tired of smashing, she collapsed on the floor, crying loudly.

Marlon couldn't stand any more and started walking towards the hotel door.

His action only provoked Beth further. She pointed at him and shouted, "Fine, go ahead, Marlon. I'm telling you, if you leave, don't ever come back."

"Beth, you're being unreasonable. Do you know that? You're driving me crazy."

"Marlon, you bastard. You're the one driving me crazy. You flirt with Grace right in front of me, and instead of feeling guilty, you get mad at me. Are you even a man?"

Marlon's hand trembled as he pointed at her, "Beth, I think you're the one who's crazy. What did I do? I just helped her out of courtesy as a colleague."

"In that situation, anyone would have lent a hand. Is it worth making such a big deal out of it?"

Beth cried her heart out.

"Marlon, don't think I don't know. You used to chase after Grace. You like her, but she rejected you."

"Now that Grace is down and out, and you're successful, you want to rekindle things with her, take care of her, right?"

"Beth, I advise you to watch your words. All you talk about is flirting. I'm telling you, Grace and I are completely innocent and aboveboard."

Beth didn't believe him at all and sneered.

"You're too emotional right now. I'm not going to argue with you. We'll talk when you calm down."

Marlon opened the door, determined to leave.

Beth, however, went crazy and blocked the door, leaning against it.

"Marlon, I'm telling you, you're not allowed to leave until you explain everything."
