Chapter 708 Going Back on One's Word

"It seems you already know everything," Linda said, walking over, having just seen the news.

"Yes." Grace nodded.

Linda, furious, cursed, "That Marlon, heartless bastard, he's not even human. He couldn't have you, so he wants to kill you, and now he's playing the victim."

"In the entertainment industry, he knows too well the power of public opinion and the media, and even more so the damage online abuse can do to a person. He's deliberately using this method to retaliate against you, to force you to submit."

Grace clenched her phone, her eyes growing colder.

"I know, but I won't give in."

"This time, I'll make him pay."

Linda nodded in agreement, "Grace, no matter what you do, I support you."

"Where is Marlon now? Where is he?"

"The hospital. I heard Mark gave him a good beating."

"Linda, my luggage is in the old room. Could you please bring it over for me?"

"Sure, I'll go get it now."

After Linda brought the luggage, Grace specifically chose a black jumpsuit dress, which immediately gave her a commanding presence, exuding confidence and authority.

With her sunglasses on, Grace's aura was even more imposing.

"Linda, let's go. We're going to confront that scumbag."

Mark looked at the trending topics on Instagram, his brow furrowing in uncontrollable rage. He kicked open George's door and loudly demanded, "Did you give him the stuff? And my message, are you sure you conveyed it clearly?"

"Mark, I..." George stammered.

Mark threw the tablet in front of him.

"Did you not hear what I said? I told him to blacklist Marlon. And what's the result?"

"Look for yourself, Marlon is flaunting himself in the hospital and on Instagram today."

"Damn it, Marlon dared to hold a press conference to slander Grace, accusing her of seducing him. Today, I'm going to show him my power."

As soon as Mark finished yelling, he started to rush out.

Suddenly, a stern voice came from George's computer: "George, stop him."

Kenneth?

Kenneth was video calling George?

Mark was just looking for Kenneth.

Mark immediately turned back, his eyes blazing as he stared at Kenneth in the video call.

Compared to his fury, Kenneth appeared exceptionally calm.

Kenneth was wearing a white shirt, his skin fair, exuding a gentle and refined demeanor.

"Do you want to know the whole story?" he asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.

Mark continued to stare at him, saying nothing.

"If you want to know, sit down."

Mark pursed his lips, thought for a moment, and reluctantly sat down.

"Go ahead."

Kenneth gently tugged at his tie as he spoke calmly, "George gave me the video, and he conveyed your message to me. Rest assured, he's very loyal to you."

"I just suppressed the video and didn't let it be released."

"Kenneth," Mark gritted out his name through clenched teeth, "Why did you do that? Didn't you promise me?"

"I only promised to seriously consider it. I never promised to blacklist Marlon."

Mark was furious, "Give me a reason."

Kenneth's clean fingers lightly tapped the table, "Don't think I don't know you're doing this for Grace."

"So what if you know?"

"Mark, I warned you, she's Quentin's lover. Of all the people you could have liked, you chose her. Quentin won't spare anyone who covets his lover."

"That's none of your business. Just tell me if you'll help or not."

Kenneth's thin lips parted decisively. "No."

Mark gritted his teeth as he looked at him, "Fine."

"Kenneth, you might have been the CEO of the Powell Group for too long and forgotten to stay vigilant. Don't forget, I have shares in the company too, and no less than yours. If you push me too far, I'll do whatever it takes."

"Also, I warn you, if you dare to do anything to Grace, I won't let you off."

With that, Mark walked out.

Kenneth calmly watched his back.

"Mark, without my orders, you won't leave this room."

"I don't believe you."

"Then go ahead and try."

As soon as Mark opened the door, two men in black suits stepped forward, "Mr. Stoll, Mr. Powell said you can't leave without his orders."

"Get out of my way!"

"Sorry, Mr. Stoll, unless Mr. Powell agrees."

"I'll say it one more time: get out, or don't blame me for being ruthless."

"Mr. Stoll, you should..."

Before he could finish, Mark had already broken free.

Mark's skills were impressive, easily taking down the men at the door.

However, just as he thought he could leave, waves of bodyguards suddenly poured in.

Mark roughly estimated there were forty of them.

He turned to look at Kenneth on the computer, "You really went all out to stop me, bringing in so many people. But I won't give up."

"Let's see," Kenneth replied calmly.

The fight lasted an hour.

Mark had already taken down half of the men, and the hallway was filled with groans.

But the remaining men were still standing strong.

Although Mark wasn't injured, he was exhausted, unable to muster any strength.

Lying on the ground, he panted heavily, pulling out his phone, gritting his teeth in anger.

"Kenneth, if you have the guts, come fight me one-on-one. Stop using these despicable tactics."

"Sorry, I don't care about the tactics, as long as they keep you here."

"I don't get it. I admit the Taft Group is powerful, but the Powell Group isn't weak either. Why are you so afraid of him?"

Kenneth's eyes suddenly turned deep, "I'm not afraid of him, but you should be."

"What do you mean? Explain it to me. Why should I be afraid of him?"

"Mark, one day you'll understand. I'm doing this for your good. I'll say it again, don't fight Quentin for his lover, and don't make an enemy of him."

"Stay in the room, Grace will be fine. Someone will save her, but that person can't be you. It has to be Quentin."

Mark angrily threw his phone.

Finally, he looked at George, "Go out now and check on Grace. Report back to me immediately."

George looked at him apologetically, "It's not just you. Mr. Powell has confined me here, too."

"Aren't you his man?" Mark was puzzled.

George looked pained, "I've always been your man. Mr. Powell said if I ever change my loyalty, he won't need you to deal with me. He'll be the first to take care of me."

"Self-righteous. He says it's for my good? I think he's just afraid of losing his position as CEO."
