Chapter 435 Danielle Meets Gilbert and Freddy
"Mom, I'm Jessica!" Shouting excitedly, Jessica stepped forward and hugged Danielle tightly.
Danielle was so overwhelmed with emotion that she could only keep patting Jessica's back, her eyes brimming with tears, almost unable to utter a single word.
Jessica, her daughter-in-law, wasn't dead.
That was wonderful.
From now on, Jessica and Gabriel could finally be together and grow old together.
There were no words to express Danielle's happiness.
"Mom, I'm not dead. I'm sorry for keeping it from you for so long," Jessica said guiltily while hugging her.
Danielle choked up repeatedly.
Trying hard to control her emotions, Danielle finally spoke, "Jessica, it's all in the past. None of that matters now. The most important thing is that you're alive and back with Gabriel. I don't have to worry about Gabriel anymore."
"This is wonderful, truly wonderful! This is the best birthday gift I've received for my sixtieth birthday." Danielle wiped her tears happily.
Although tears were streaming down her cheeks, her entire face was lit up with a smile. She was overjoyed.
Jessica let go of Danielle, and Gabriel stepped forward with a handkerchief, gently wiping her tears. "In my heart, my mom has always been a strong, brave, and beautiful warrior. When did you become so fragile? I'm sorry, Mom, for making you worry about me all these years!"
"No." Danielle shook her head, smiling happily. "Being able to do things for my children makes me the happiest and most content. Everything I've done has been without hesitation. Now that Jessica is back, I don't have to worry about you anymore."
Gabriel stepped forward and suddenly hugged Danielle. "Mom, from now on, you don't have to work hard anymore, and you don't have to worry about me. Just enjoy a life of leisure and happiness with your grandchild."
Grandchild?
Hearing this, Danielle quickly reacted. She immediately pushed Gabriel away and looked at him in shock. "What did you just say? Does that mean Jessica is already pregnant?"
Gabriel smiled, and so did Jessica.
Gabriel looked at Danielle seriously. "Mom, today is your birthday, but Jessica's appearance is just a surprise, not your birthday gift. Close your eyes and I will show you the real gift."
"Why so mysterious?" Danielle laughed as she closed her eyes.
Gabriel spoke, "Come out!"
Hearing the command, Gilbert and Freddy immediately held hands and stood in front of Danielle, grinning happily.
Opening her eyes, Danielle saw two adorable little boys who looked very much like her. She couldn't help but smile with joy.
Especially when she saw their innocent and cute smiles, her heart melted. "Hello, you two are so cute. Can I hug you?"
"Yes!" Gilbert and Freddy answered in unison.
With their permission, Danielle happily hugged them.
Since Gilbert and Freddy were a bit heavy together, Danielle didn't lift them but squatted down and hugged them with one arm each.
The more she looked at them, the happier she felt.
However, she still thought something was wrong.
Turning around, Danielle looked at Gabriel. "Gabriel, I like your gift, but bringing two kids home like this must worry their parents. I've seen them and hugged them, so hurry and send them back home!"
Hearing this, Gabriel couldn't help but be at a loss for words.
It turned out his wise mother had become slow in recognizing her grandchildren.
Was it his fault for not making it clear, or did Gilbert and Freddy not resemble him enough?
Looking at Jessica, Gabriel and she couldn't help but smile.
Jessica raised her head, about to speak, but Jonah beat her to it. "Danielle, look at these two kids closely. Don't they look a bit like Gabriel when he was young?"
Listening to Jonah, Danielle looked carefully again.
This time, she nodded immediately. "Yes, now that you mention it, these two kids do look like Gabriel when he was young, especially their eyes. They're so similar."
Turning her head, she looked at Gabriel. "Where did you find kids that look so much like you?"
Unable to hold back any longer, Gabriel was ready to reveal everything.
At this moment, Gilbert couldn't hold back either.
He tilted his head, blinking his big eyes at Danielle, and spoke cutely, "Grandma, we're Daddy's sons. Shouldn't we look like Daddy?"
"What?" This time, Danielle was completely shocked.
Usually eloquent, she found herself at a loss for words.
She widened her eyes, looking at Gilbert in disbelief. "What did you just say? Whose sons are you?"
"Grandma, I'm Daddy's son, your grandson. Haven't you seen my photo?" Gilbert blinked in confusion.
He then looked at Gabriel. "Daddy, didn't you show Grandma our photos? She doesn't seem to recognize us. She even asked us to go home, but didn't you say this is our home?"
Hearing this, Danielle finally understood.
Raising her head again, her eyes turned slightly cold. Then, she punched Gabriel lightly. "You kept such an important thing from me? Just wait, I'll deal with you tonight."
With that, she immediately put on a smile and apologized to Gilbert and Freddy, "I'm sorry, it was my mistake! Come here, let me hug you. Tell me, are you hungry? Shall we go eat?"
Gilbert and Freddy immediately answered in unison, "Okay!"
Seeing Danielle struggling to hold both Gilbert and Freddy, Jonah walked over. "Let me hold one!"
He reached out to Freddy.
"Are you Grandpa?" Freddy blinked, asking in confusion, "But Daddy only told me about Grandma, not Grandpa!"
Freddy's words were innocent.
Hearing this, Jonah felt extremely sad.
But he knew it was his fault, not Gabriel's.
"Yes, I'm Grandpa. I wasn't home a few days ago, and your dad didn't want you to be disappointed if you didn't see me, so he didn't tell you," Jonah explained.
Hearing this, Freddy immediately stretched out his arms, happily shouting, "Hi, Grandpa! Grandpa, hold me."
Then he looked at Gilbert, excitedly saying, "Gilbert, this is great! We have a Grandpa and Grandma now. We don't have to envy others anymore."
