Chapter 549 Breaking Up with Celia

After Vincent fell asleep, Jessica tucked him in and then walked out.

On the other side, Francis was almost staggering as he walked back.

It was clear how much Francis and Vincent had drunk.

"Francis, where have you been? How did you get so drunk?" Celia stepped forward to support him.

Seeing her face, Francis's eyes turned red with guilt. "I'm sorry, Celia. I failed you."

"I let you down. If there's a next life, let's not cross paths again, okay?"

While taking off his shoes, Celia removed his coat and wiped his face with a wet towel.

Watching her busy around, Francis felt even more guilty.

Reaching out, he grabbed Celia, his voice thick with drunkenness. "Celia, stop fussing. I can barely sleep for one night."

"Tomorrow, when I wake up, I'll leave here."

Hearing this, Celia was almost stunned on the spot.

"Francis."

She blinked innocently, tears of sadness falling.

"I'm sorry, Celia. I know I've hurt you, but we can't keep going like this. A marriage without love isn't going to make us happy."

"We've already made a mistake. We should stop the loss in time."

Listening to his words, Celia couldn't hold back anymore.

She opened her lips and suddenly laughed loudly and forcefully.

"Francis, you bastard. What do you mean by stopping the loss in time? You just fell for someone else. You cheated on me. You don't love me anymore, right?"

"I knew it. My intuition was right. From the moment you didn't want to kiss me but went to kiss Jessica, you had changed your heart, right?"

"Francis, how could you do this to me? I'm your fiancée. I'm even carrying your baby. Why? Why did you betray me? Tell me, you fell for Jessica, didn't you? You like her, right?"

Francis closed his eyes in pain.

At this moment, he felt guilty and didn't dare to open his eyes to look at Celia.

"Open your eyes. Why don't you dare to look at me? Francis, you are so heartless. We've been in love for years, but you fell for Jessica in just a few days. How could you be so cruel to me?"

"Do you know how heartbroken and sad I am?"

Francis looked at her, but at that moment, he was at a loss for words to comfort her.

All he could respond with was "I'm sorry."

"Celia, I'm sorry. You can ask for any compensation, and I'll try my best to fulfill it."

"No."

Celia just shook her head firmly.

"Francis, you're drunk now. I'll just take it as you talking nonsense."

"I won't break up with you. I need you, and the baby needs you too."

"And in a week, it's our wedding day. I'll wear the wedding dress and be your most beautiful bride."

After saying that, Celia covered her lips and ran out regardless.

Francis rubbed his throbbing head.

He was too dizzy and groggy, so he was fast asleep before he even knew it.

When he woke up, his head hurt.

This was the aftermath of getting drunk. Celia was wearing an apron, smiling gently as she brought him milk. "Francis, you're awake. You drank too much yesterday and blacked out."

"Your head must be hurting now. Drink this milk; it will make you feel much better."

He looked at her calm and gentle smile.

Francis was momentarily lost.

Although his head hurt and he drank a lot, his memory was still intact.

Not very clear, but he vaguely remembered some important words.

He remembered that he had broken up with Celia and said he wanted to call off the engagement.

She was very resistant and sad at the time, but now she was smiling gently, her face full of joy, not at all like she was extremely sad.

What was going on?

Did something else happen later?

Francis took the milk, but he was still deeply puzzled.

Celia smiled and reminded him, "What are you daydreaming about? Drink the milk quickly, or your head will keep hurting for a long time."

He tilted his head and drank the milk.

Breakfast was light, and she had specially made a big bowl of porridge.

He felt warm and comfortable as he ate.

But no matter how he thought about it, everything that happened last night felt very real.

After breakfast, while cleaning up the dishes, Francis couldn't hold back anymore.

"Give me the dishes; I'll wash them," Celia said.

"It's okay, I'll wash them myself," he said.

Celia reached out to take his dishes, but Francis held them down and said, "Celia, about what I said last night..."

But before he could finish, Celia interrupted him.

She looked up at him with a puzzled expression. "Francis, last night? Did you talk to me yesterday?"

"Yes, I said last night that we..."

Suddenly, Celia put her hand on his forehead.

Then she confidently said, "I told you, you blacked out last night. How can you still be so dizzy after sleeping all night? You were a total mess when you got back. It took me and my parents a lot of effort to get you to bed."

"You drank too much. You were fast asleep before you even knew it. You didn't have time to say a word to me. Is your memory acting up?"

She blinked her eyes, looking particularly sincere and confident.

"Celia, I'm not joking. I remember very clearly that I mentioned breaking up last night."

He thought Celia would be shocked when she heard this.

But she just smiled slightly, as if hearing a joke.

Then she continued, "Francis, you drank too much. If you had mentioned breaking up, would I be here pouring you milk and making you breakfast? My parents would have kicked you out long ago."

"You drank too much and had aftereffects. You can't drink that much anymore."

In short, no matter what Francis said, Celia could smile and easily resolve it.

Then she insisted on one thing: he was drunk last night and had a memory lapse.

At this moment, the phone rang.

It was an unfamiliar number, but it felt familiar.

"Hello, it's me, Vincent. I'm flying back today. I just wanted to say goodbye."

Hearing this, Francis immediately remembered what Vincent said while drinking yesterday.

No, no way.

He couldn't let Vincent take Jessica away.

Francis had already made up his mind. He would explain everything to Celia and call off the engagement.

"Where are you guys?"

Francis asked anxiously, feeling extremely flustered.
