Chapter 676 So Angry She Bit Him
When Quentin went upstairs, the bedroom door was tightly closed.
He knocked a few times, but there was no response.
In the end, he had to get the key from the butler to open the door.
"How did you get in?"
Seeing him standing before her, Grace was taken abackstunned.
"This is my room after all. Do you think I have no way to get in?" He replied.
"Then you stay here, I'll go somewhere else," Grace said as she started to walk out.
As she passed by him, he grabbed her.
His voice was as tender and affectionate as ever, as if nothing had just happened. "Still mad?"
"No, you are the high and mighty Mr. Taft. How could I have the right to be mad?" Grace retorted.
Quentin handed his phone to Grace, showing her some old news articles.
"Mr. Caudill is an old pervert. Many actresses have been sexually harassed or coerced into sex by him under the guise of filming. If you really went, do you think he would let you go?"
Grace got even angrier when he said that.
Unable to hold back, she walked towards Quentin, step by step.
Her eyes were filled with grievance and anger, and her slender fingers poked his chest repeatedly.
"Quentin, how dare you say that?"
"It's all your fault. If it weren't for the Taft family, if it weren't for what your mother did, I wouldn't have had to leave the entertainment industry, and I wouldn't have ended up like this."
"Do you know that everything I am going through today is because of you?"
After venting, Grace felt a bit relieved.
Quentin knew she was feeling wronged, so he listened silently to everything she said without arguing.
It wasn't until she was tired of talking and had calmed down a bit that he reached out and hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry, you're right to scold me. It's all my fault."
"I know you want to return to the entertainment industry, and I know you are eager to prove yourself, but I have read the script for that movie, and it's mediocre."
"Even if you act in it, it won't help your comeback."
"If you're going to act, you should aim for the best."
This time, Grace was much calmer.
In fact, she knew everything Quentin was saying.
But she was struggling now, and the road to her comeback was extremely difficult.
Having a role to play was better than having none.
Although the movie wasn't top-notch, it was decent, and she could barely accept it.
As for the director Elijah's character, she had heard about it.
But she always thought that as long as she kept herself clean and firm, she could protect herself.
But after what happened with Caleb, she realized she was too naive.
When people want to hurt others, they have a hundred, even a thousand, ways to do it. Knowing Quentin was doing it for her good, her anger subsided a lot.
But she still felt uneasy.
Why did he make decisions without even discussing them with her?
Seeing that her expression had softened a lot, Quentin immediately tried to please her. "Can you stop being mad? It's not worth it to hurt your health."
"Out with the old, in with the new. There will definitely be better roles waiting for you."
Grace looked up, somewhat surprised. "So you mean, you agree to let me act?"
Quentin nodded. "Yes, since it's your dream, go ahead. If it goes well, great. If not, you can always come back."
"Grace, as long as you can stay by my side, I won't ask for anything else."
Grace was momentarily dazed.
He had been strongly opposed before.
Why did he suddenly agree?
Seeing her not speaking, Quentin thought she was still mad and suggested, "How about this, if you're still mad, you can bite me back."
He offered his shoulder.
Grace didn't hold back and bit down hard.
The bite instantly made Quentin frown in pain.
Grace was really angry and wanted to vent, but she lost control of her strength.
When she let go, there was a deep mark on his shoulder, turning a deep red.
It definitely hurt.
"Such a ruthless woman!" Quentin looked at her.
Grace knew she had bitten too hard and softened her voice. "Sit down, I'll get some medicine to treat it."
"Okay." He nodded.
She quickly brought the medicine over, and Quentin cooperated by taking off his shirt, revealing his strong shoulders.
Grace stood beside him, head down, her fair fingers disinfecting and applying the medicine.
Under the light, her beautiful face looked especially gentle.
Her soft neck appeared long and graceful.
A strand of hair fell gently across her forehead.
Quentin's heart stirred.
When he had an idea, his body acted before he could think.
Suddenly standing up, he leaned in and kissed her on the lips.
Grace was caught off guard and startled.
Just as she was about to step back, Quentin grabbed her hand and pulled her onto his lap.
"Quentin, stop being a rogue. Let go of me. Didn't you say your wound hurts? I'm still applying the medicine!" Grace exclaimed in panic.
Quentin laughed and put the medicine aside, saying, "It doesn't hurt when I'm holding you."
Grace's hand, which was on his chest, ready to push him away, stopped.
She did care about him.
She couldn't bear to push him away.
Surprisingly, the next day, Linda called her.
She said many directors had reached out to her.
Grace was extremely shocked at the time. "Linda, are you serious?"
"Absolutely, the scripts are already in my hands. There are several, and I looked through them. Whether it's the production team or the scripts, they are all very good, and most of them are lead roles." Linda sounded very excited.
"Linda, wait a moment." After hanging up the phone, Grace headed straight to the study.
Quentin was in a video conference.
Seeing her come in, he said, "Let's take a break," and closed the laptop.
"Looking for me?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
Grace nodded. "Linda just called and said there are several good scripts. Did you help with that?"
"Is that why you came to see me?" He asked.
"Yes, I want to know the answer," Grace replied.
"Do you hope it was me, or do you hope it wasn't me?" Quentin continued.
Grace was a bit confused and didn't know how to answer.
She was no longer the naive, simple girl she once was. She knew clearly that with Quentin's help, many things would go much smoother.
And since he had already helped her, there was no point in being overly sentimental.
But she still had an indescribable feeling in her heart.
She said she wouldn't rely on him.
But in the end, she did.
Quentin walked towards her and honestly nodded. "The truth is, I did help a bit."
"You are my lover. Since I have the power and resources, of course, I want to give you the best." He added.
