Chapter 330 Surprise, It's Twins!

Jessica had to admit, Oscar made a lot of sense.

Maybe they were all too wrapped up in the situation, and Oscar, being on the outside, could see things more clearly. She also had to admit that if this had happened between Gabriel and Diana, she wouldn't be able to stay calm either.

She said, "But I get his pain and worries, and I've told him straight up that nothing happened between Jack and me, but he still doesn't believe me."

Oscar asked, "Ms. Morgan, try looking at it from another angle. Mr. Walton thought this baby was someone else's, yet he still wanted to make you happy and accepted the baby. That's some deep love right there! If it were you, would you stick around if you thought Diana was carrying his baby?"

Jessica went quiet.

"Thanks, Oscar. My head's a mess right now. No matter what, I need some time to chill and let both of us think about our relationship." Jessica really did want to think things through.

And honestly, she didn't want to let go. Especially now that she had a baby, her heart had gotten even softer.

Since she could remember, it was just her and her mom. Whether she was sick, going to school, or dealing with other stuff, it was always her mom taking care of her. Carter only knew how to smoke, drink, and gamble. He always demanded money and often abused them. So, in her life, the role of a father was non-existent.

Because of her experiences, she knew how important a father was to a baby. At the very least, she wanted to give her baby a happy home.

In the past few days, Jessica had given herself time to calm down. However, her work had suddenly become super busy. Although Kathleen had already cut her workload significantly due to her pregnancy, Jessica still felt the pressure as she saw her colleagues exhausted from their duties. So, she volunteered to take on some tasks she could handle.

From the moment she got to the hospital, she was busy from morning till night. She considered herself lucky if she could have two meals a day.

On the busiest day, Jessica worked until 9 PM. Just as she was finishing up, Tina had just come out of the operating room and saw Jessica still working. She immediately ran over and said, "Jessica, it's so late. Why are you still here? The first three months are crucial. Stop working and go home to rest. Even if you don't need rest, the baby does. Leave the rest to us."

"Okay, I'm almost done. I'll change and go home." With that, Jessica went to the locker room to change.

When she reached for her clothes on the rack, she had to stand on tiptoe, and suddenly she felt her heart race and her head spin. But she didn't think much of it, assuming she was just tired and would feel better after a rest. However, halfway through changing, she felt a sudden, intense dizziness and quickly blacked out.

Outside, Tina waited for a long time, but Jessica didn't come out.

'Changing clothes shouldn't take this long. Could it be...' Thinking of something, Tina immediately put down what she was holding and ran over.

"Jessica," Tina called out as she pushed the door open.

When she saw Jessica lying on the floor, Tina's heart skipped a beat. "Jessica, wake up! Wake up!"

Seeing no response, Tina immediately called for emergency help.

Soon, the emergency team arrived.

Jessica woke up over an hour later. When she opened her eyes and found herself in a hospital bed, she was startled.

"The baby." She immediately reached for her abdomen. But the baby was too small to be felt by touch alone.

Worried, Jessica didn't feel like lying down. She lifted the blanket, about to get up to find a doctor.

Just then, the doctor walked in. "You're awake? How do you feel?"

"I feel okay, just a bit weak and tired. How did I end up here?"

"You fainted in the department. Luckily, Dr. Ingram called for emergency help and got you here."

"Fainted?" Jessica was surprised. "What about my baby?"

The doctor gently reassured her, "Don't worry; the baby is fine. You've just been too busy and exhausted. You need to rest well and not overwork yourself."

"Is the baby really okay?" Jessica was still worried.

"How about this: if you're still concerned, I'll arrange for an ultrasound so you can hear the baby's heartbeat," the doctor offered.

Jessica immediately smiled. "That would be great."

"Alright, rest for a bit, and I'll make the arrangements."

About ten minutes later, Jessica was in the ultrasound room. Lying there, she felt quite anxious. Because of her previous experience, she was particularly worried this time.

During the examination, the doctor suddenly made a curious sound.

Jessica's heart skipped a beat, and she became extremely frightened. "What is it? Is something wrong with the baby?"

"No, no, Dr. Morgan, the baby is fine. Don't worry," the doctor quickly reassured her, seeing how tense she was.

"That's good. You scared me."

After a few more minutes of checking and confirming several times, the doctor smiled at Jessica. "Dr. Morgan, congratulations! You're having twins."

"Twins? Really?" Jessica could hardly believe her ears. She was both excited and surprised.

"Yes, I confirmed it several times. You're having twins. You're very lucky."

"Last time, they didn't mention twins, so I always thought there was only one baby." Jessica smiled gently, placing her hands on her abdomen, feeling sweet and happy.

This was wonderful. She had already felt blessed with one baby, thinking it was a gift from God. Now, she found out she had two babies, truly overjoyed! This was the happiest news she had received in days.

The doctor explained, "Last time, it was still early, and one baby might not have had a heartbeat yet, so it wasn't detected. Now both babies have heartbeats, and they're strong."

"That's wonderful. Thank you!" Holding the ultrasound report, Jessica felt a surge of sweetness in her heart.

"But it's quite late now, and since you fainted earlier, we recommend you stay in the hospital overnight," the doctor said.

"Okay." Jessica nodded. Now that she had two babies, she needed to be even more careful.

Returning to her room, Jessica saw Gabriel as soon as she walked in.

"Jessica," he called out tenderly, walking towards her.
