Chapter 231 A Romantic Kiss Under the Fireworks

Gabriel shook his head, "No excuses. It was all genuine.

"I told him, 'My girlfriend and I fell in love at first sight here. We were both students and wanted to revisit.'"

"And he agreed?" Jessica asked.

"Yep!" Gabriel nodded.

As they walked in, Jessica realized why the guard agreed so easily.

Today's guard was a woman.

"It's really a world where looks matter," Jessica sighed.

Then she grinned mischievously, "Gabriel, with your looks, I could make a fortune if I sold you."

Gabriel replied coolly, "Too bad, Ms. Morgan, I'll always be by your side."

They reached the playground, and Gabriel asked, "Where did we meet?"

Jessica pointed, "There, you carried me to the infirmary."

Gabriel took her hand and led her to the spot.

Then he squatted down in front of her.

Jessica was taken aback for a moment.

Gabriel's voice broke the silence, "Get on. I'll carry you."

"Are you sure?" she asked.

There weren't many people around, but they'd definitely attract attention.

Gabriel nodded, "Yes, I want to relive that moment with you, make it our shared memory."

Jessica's heart skipped a beat.

She wrapped her arms around Gabriel's neck, and he lifted her up.

The path to the infirmary wasn't short.

Jessica, on his back, felt his strong heartbeat.

The night was quiet, and they didn't speak.

Only their breathing sound filled the air.

When they reached the infirmary, Jessica started to get down, but Gabriel's voice stopped her, "Don't move."

He turned and carried her back to the playground.

"Why aren't you putting me down?" Jessica asked.

"To make up for the past," Gabriel said.

"If I'd known the girl I carried would be my true love, my wife, I wouldn't have forgotten. I would've asked for her name and number."

Jessica smiled, hugging him tighter.

She whispered, "Thank you, Gabriel."

'Thank you for making me feel all my love is worth it,' she said inwardly.

'And thank you for erasing thosepast regrets. Even if we miss out on things, one day, we'll make up for it. Just like this moment.'

As he carried her, she felt like the happiest girl in the world.

Back at the playground, Gabriel put her down.

She asked, "Tired?"

Gabriel raised an eyebrow, "Ms. Morgan, are you doubting my stamina?"

Jessica knew better than to doubt, so she quickly waved her hand, "No, no, I totally believe you."

"Good, you'll understand deeply in the future," he said with a smile.

And indeed, one day, Jessica would truly understand. For several days, she'd be weak and sore all over.

Suddenly, a sound came from the sky, followed by a firework exploding. Soon, two, three, countless fireworks lit up the sky, blooming like flowers.

The entire sky was colorful, adorned with brilliant fireworks.

Jessica looked up, eyes wide with excitement like a child. "Wow, so beautiful, Gabriel!" she exclaimed. "Hurry, these fireworks are amazing. And don't you think we're really lucky? We rarely come here, and we get to see fireworks. It's such a surprise."

Gabriel smiled but said nothing. His Jessica, sometimes adorably naive. Since she hadn't realized it yet, he let her enjoy her happiness a bit longer.

The fireworks lasted a full half hour. Not only Jessica, but many others stopped to watch, everyone looking up and cheering.

Suddenly, Gabriel grabbed Jessica's hand and started running.

"Gabriel, what are you doing? The fireworks are so beautiful, let's watch a bit longer." Though Jessica asked, she was already running with him.

They ran and ran until Gabriel stopped behind a tree with dense foliage.

"Gabriel, you..." Before she could finish, Gabriel cupped her face and kissed her.

Under the fireworks, the kiss was romantic and beautiful.

Listening to the sound of fireworks, Jessica closed her eyes, feeling his kiss. She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, standing on tiptoe to get closer.

The fireworks were splendid and beautiful, just like their love at this moment—romantic and magnificent.

When they parted, Gabriel held Jessica from behind, hugging her tightly. His hand held hers, fingers intertwined, like two lovers deeply in love.

"I wanted to kiss you under the most spectacular fireworks, but I was afraid it wouldn't look good, so I had to kiss you secretly under the tree," Gabriel said.

Jessica smiled lightly, then realized.

"A bit of a pity?" he asked.

Jessica shook her head. "No, every moment with you is beautiful, and don't you think this is even more exciting?"

"Oh?" Gabriel's tone lifted, "So you like this kind of thrill. We should try it more often then."

Before he could finish, Jessica covered his mouth with her hand. "Don't talk nonsense. That's not what I meant."

"Then what do you mean?" he asked.

"I mean occasionally and in special situations," she explained.

The fireworks were still blooming, illuminating her blushing face. One by one, they shot up into the sky, blooming into the most splendid flowers, lighting up the entire night sky.

The weather had gotten a bit colder. The wind was stronger. Jessica held Gabriel's hand, ready to go home.

Gabriel looked at his watch and pulled her back. "Wait a bit longer!"

"Wait for what?"

As soon as Jessica finished speaking, a dazzling heart-shaped firework bloomed in the sky!
