Chapter 87 Seeing Her with Vincent
How did Gabriel feel when he saw this scene?
She was quite excited!
A triumphant smile played on Diana's lips.
After drinking hot water, Jessica's stomach felt a bit better.
However, she no longer had the courage to stay here.
If it weren't for her recent discomfort, she would have left long ago.
Although she confronted Diana and spoke forcefully in front of her, only she knew how afraid and soft her heart was.
Jessica just forcibly packaged herself as tough, almost indestructible.
But beneath the shell, she was actually fragile and would shatter at a touch.
How grand, how beautiful, how dreamy!
But it was all for another woman, given by Gabriel.
Now, every breath she took felt like a knife, inching across her heart.
Forgive her timidity, forgive her weakness, she truly had no courage left.
She was afraid.
She was afraid she would have to watch them enter hand in hand, looking affectionate.
Afraid he would speak moving words to Diana with loving eyes and a gentle tone.
More so, she couldn't bear it.
So, she could only escape.
Escape from all of this early.
Standing up, Jessica walked outside.
Little did she know, Vincent followed her out.
When Gabriel approached, he saw the two of them, one in front of the other, but he felt they were together.
Indeed, it was him, Vincent Lucas of the Lucas family.
It was truly unexpected that in such a large Lucas family business, the only son didn't inherit the family business but became a police officer instead.
Suddenly, Gabriel's gaze fell on Vincent's clothes.
That suit looked particularly familiar.
He felt like he had seen it somewhere before.
Gabriel searched hard, and soon, his eyes narrowed, staring hard at Vincent.
He remembered why the outfit seemed familiar; it was the one Jessica bought at that men's clothing store.
These days, he had been eagerly waiting, hoping she would give him that outfit.
But as it turned out, she had already given it to another man.
Ah... so that's how it is.
Buying such an expensive outfit for another man, Gabriel didn't know whether to call his wife generous or simply adorable.
Gabriel stared at the outfit, almost wishing to bore a hole through it.
His aura turned chilling, his fist unconsciously clenched.
Finally, a punch shattered the nearby highball glass.
The crystal glass instantly fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.
The red wine inside spilled out, some onto Gabriel's hand, some onto the floor.
Both his hands and the floor were adorned with a vibrant red.
At that moment, he couldn't distinguish whether the color on his hand was from the wine or his own blood.
"Gabriel, let me bandage that for you," Diana grabbed his hand, nervously offering.
Gabriel snatched his hand back coldly, saying, "No need."
Outside the door, Jessica had just stepped out and felt a gust of wind hit her face.
Night winds always carried a chill.
As she hugged her arms, suddenly, a coat fell on her shoulders.
Turning around, she saw Vincent.
"Why did you come out? Aren't you staying a bit longer?"
"I got bored, so I came out. Let's go, I'll take you back," he said.
Jessica looked at him in astonishment, blinking her long lashes, almost incredulous, "How did you know I was going back?"
At that moment, a car pulled up.
The driver got out and handed the keys to Vincent.
He looked at Jessica, "Are you comfortable?"
"What's there for me not to be comfortable about?"
As Jessica spoke, she got into the car. She was already heading home, and now he could drive her, saving her the trouble of getting a taxi.
Inside the car, music played softly, creating a serene atmosphere.
The temperature was just right.
Perhaps she was too tired, Jessica fell asleep as soon as she sat down.
When she woke up again, the car had already stopped at her doorstep.
Realizing she had dozed off, she rubbed her head, feeling embarrassed, "Sorry for making you wait so long, you could have woken me up."
"I saw you sleeping so peacefully, I didn't want to disturb you."
"Thank you for today, by the way, how did you know where I live?" Jessica asked.
Vincent had wanted to say that he already knew.
He knew about your relationship with The Walton Family, and he knew you were married to Gabriel.
But in the end, Vincent just lowered his gaze, his eyes deep, and said, "I find out what I want to know, naturally."
Jessica nodded.
Yes, with information so readily available now, there's always a way to find out.
Getting out of the car, Jessica handed the coat back to Vincent.
Seeing her gaze linger on the coat for a moment, Vincent asked, "Is something wrong with my clothes?"
"Oh, no," Jessica quickly shook her head, explaining, "It just looks familiar. I bought a similar one a while back and gave it to a friend."
"Well, that's quite a coincidence. This one was a gift from my sister. Besides my police uniform, most of my clothes are custom-made by her."
The night grew deeper.
The moon hung like a disc in the sky, the night cool and serene.
Moonlight bathed the two of them.
Jessica and Vincent stood side by side.
"The moon is so beautiful!" she exclaimed.
If not for the events of the day, this would have been the most beautiful moon Jessica had ever seen.
Unfortunately, even in the presence of such beauty, she couldn't find joy.
Her heart was filled with deep sorrow.
"Vincent, are you free later?" Jessica withdrew her gaze from the fireworks above and looked at the man beside her, bathed in moonlight, and asked.
Vincent also turned to her, looking serious as he replied, "No need to be so formal in the future, just call me Vincent."
"And you don't need to be formal either, just call me Jessica."
"Alright, Jessica."
"If you have time later, could you chat with me?" Jessica asked.
Vincent nodded, "With such a beautiful moon, I'd be happy to."
The two of them leaned against the car casually. Jessica expressed her desire to hear some interesting and funny stories from his life.
Her heart was too bitter.
So, she desperately wanted to hear something fun, hoping it would lift her spirits.
Later, indeed, Vincent shared many amusing stories with her.
Jessica laughed heartily, at times clutching her stomach in laughter.
But even after the laughter, Jessica's heart remained unsettled.
That night, she kept numbing herself, desperately trying not to think about those things.
Not about Gabriel and Diana, and certainly not about what might happen at the birthday party.
But whenever she stopped, she couldn't help but think.
"Why is love so bitter?" Jessica murmured softly as she gazed at the fireworks overhead.
"And first love, do all men never forget their first love? If they can't forget, then what does marriage mean? What about a wife?"
