Chapter 261 Deliberately Leaving a Lip Mark on Jessica
Jessica didn't expect him to agree so quickly and decisively.
Stunned for a moment, she shook her head and said, "You're not my boyfriend. What do you mean by treating everyone to a meal?"
Gabriel gazed intently at her, saying tenderly, "Jessica, if you agree, I can be your boyfriend right now."
"How's your injury? Running down here like this might affect your wound." she didn't respond to him.
Jessica admitted she was scared and timid.
So she could only change the subject.
Gabriel knew she was avoiding the topic.
In the past, he would have pressed for an answer.
But this time, he had enough patience.
Oscar was right. The only thing he needed to do now was to be good to her, to warm her already disappointed and wounded heart.
Only then would he have hope.
Forcing her would only push her further away.
Moreover, what he wanted was her willing heart, out of love, not anything else.
"The wound hurts a bit," Gabriel said.
He had become quite cunning, knowing that saying this would surely make Jessica feel distressed for him.
"Then go upstairs and rest. Once the wound heals, it won't hurt anymore." As soon as Jessica finished speaking, a call came from not far away. "Jessica, the patient in bed 5 is calling."
Bed 5 housed a patient who was in for fighting and causing trouble, with a very bad temper. Although every time he called them, it was for nothing, just to feel noticed.
But whenever he called, they still had to respond.
Otherwise, they would definitely get scolded.
So, being a doctor also had many helpless and unavoidable moments. But since she chose this profession, even with some negative emotions, she would relieve herself and tell herself to stay optimistic.
In a hurry, Jessica immediately pushed Gabriel away, "Let go of me. I need to check on the patient."
Only then did Gabriel really let her go, and she hurriedly walked out the door.
Suddenly, she felt a force on her hand; Gabriel had grabbed her. "After work, let's have dinner together."
"Sorry, I've already promised Vincent to accompany him to visit his mother today," Jessica said.
Originally, she thought Gabriel would be angry.
Unexpectedly, he wasn't.
However, Gabriel was still very jealous inside, but he hid it and didn't show it.
But just thinking about her going to see Vincent's mother with him made him unhappy.
Saying he wasn't jealous would be a lie.
Suddenly, thinking of something, Gabriel pulled Jessica into his arms and, lowering his head, gently bit her earlobe.
She didn't expect this, and her whole body went numb, like an electric current running through her.
"Gabriel, don't do this; let go of me," Jessica's voice was soft and alluring, with an indescribable charm and sensuality.
Gabriel found it even harder to let go, kissing her ear and slender neck forcefully. He finally, reluctantly, let her go.
"Let's go, I'll walk you out," he said.
Jessica immediately stopped him, "No, I can go by myself. Wait a few minutes after I leave before you come out."
Gabriel knew her concerns; she was afraid of being seen by colleagues.
Affectionately ruffling her hair, Gabriel nodded. "Okay, you go first."
"Okay," she said before leaving.
Just after getting off work in the evening, Jessica was about to call Vincent to ask about visiting his mother.
As soon as she reached the nurse's station, a colleague called out to her, "Jessica, someone is looking for you. And let me tell you, it's another handsome guy."
The colleague gestured toward Vincent, who was waiting nearby.
Jessica waved to him while doing the handover with everyone.
The colleague glanced at Jessica, then at Vincent, and couldn't help but say, "Dr. Morgan, what's the matter with you? With such a handsome boyfriend, why haven't you introduced him to us?
"If he were my boyfriend, I'd want everyone to know."
As soon as this colleague spoke, several others joined in. "Yeah, Dr. Morgan, if I had such a high-quality boyfriend, I'd be smiling in my sleep."
Just then, a senior doctor walked by, heard the discussion, and joined in kindly. "You ladies are all envious of Dr. Morgan. But Jessica's boyfriend is indeed excellent, tall, and handsome. And he spends so generously on you all, showing how much he cares for you. Cherish him!"
"Yes, Dr. Morgan, we're so envious. When you get married, you must invite us to the wedding," a nurse said.
"Yes, Dr. Morgan." Everyone chimed in.
Jessica found she didn't even have a chance to speak.
And they had already assumed Vincent was her boyfriend.
With a bitter smile, Jessica was about to explain, but everyone had already dispersed in their envy.
"Just a friend, he is not my boyfriend," Jessica said.
But the nurse at the front desk didn't believe her, thinking she was just too shy.
Unable to explain, Jessica gave up.
Meeting Vincent, she was still a bit nervous. "Vincent, you might have to wait for me a bit."
"Is there something else?" he asked.
"Didn't we say we were going to visit Mrs. Lucas? Now that Mrs. Lucas is sick, if I go as your girlfriend, I should bring some gifts. It's not good to go empty-handed," she explained.
Vincent smiled and said, "Don't worry. I've prepared everything. It's being delivered right now."
"Okay." She nodded.
As they reached the hospital lobby, someone had already delivered the items.
Jessica looked at the beautifully packaged gift boxes and praised, "Vincent, you are so thorough.
"You're really thoughtful. Any girl who marries you will be very happy."
How he wished he could say, "Jessica, if possible, I only hope that girl is you."
But he choked up, unable to say the words.
Vincent's prepared gifts were perfect, not too expensive but not cheap. They were clearly carefully selected and thoughtfully prepared.
So, the gifts were very appropriate.
As they approached the ward, Jessica felt nervous and stopped to take a deep breath.
"Are you nervous?" Vincent asked considerately.
"Yes." She nodded.
As she spoke, she felt a warmth on her hand. Vincent's large, warm hand had already grasped her small hand, gently holding it, full of care and warmth.
Jessica was stunned for a moment, but remembering they were pretending to be a couple, holding hands was normal.
So, she didn't refuse and let Vincent hold her hand as they entered the ward together.
