Chapter 631 Audition 2

The hallway was quite narrow.

So these words almost instantly reached Callie's ears.

Callie had been holding back her anger to maintain her image.

But when they mentioned Grace, Callie couldn't hold it in any longer.

Above all else, Callie loathed being compared to Grace.

Even when she was with others, Callie still managed to shine and stand out, not letting herself be completely overshadowed.

But Grace was definitely Callie's biggest rival in this life.

When Callie stood next to Grace, it felt like all her light was just snuffed out.

When Callie first met Grace, she was envious; but later, it turned into jealousy.

Callie was consumed by a fervent jealousy of Grace, believing it unjust for anyone to possess such perfection.

There were many beautiful actresses, but they always had some flaws in their features or body—maybe a flat nose, a round face, thick legs, short legs, or a small chest, lacking sex appeal.

But Grace seemed to be favored by God.

There wasn't a single unattractive part of Grace's body.

Grace had a fantastic figure, was sexy and charming, gentle and lovely, adorable, and able to pull off almost any style.

Especially after hearing people compare her to Grace, saying she deserved to play a maid, Callie was even more furious.

The voices in the line carried on, weaving through the air.

"Something is appealing about Callie too. At least she went from playing a maid to a second female lead. Even though her roles are increasingly sinister and vicious, it's better than playing a maid."

"That's true. Someone who always played maids finally got rid of that role. It's worth celebrating."

Hearing this, everyone burst into laughter.

That laugh was all too familiar to Callie, laced with mockery and a hint of contempt.

Callie couldn't hold it in any longer. She put her makeup into her bag and stormed over in her five-inch heels.

"What nonsense are you all spouting? Look at yourselves, baring your chests and having the nerve to talk about me."

"And look at your faces. Have you checked yourself out before coming to the auditions?" Callie lashed out.

Her words were extremely harsh.

The few people who had been animatedly discussing fell silent, lowering their heads.

The hallway instantly became extremely quiet, with only the sound of everyone's breathing.

But the silence only lasted a moment.

"Callie, hurry, it's almost your turn. Come on, we're first in line," Lydia shouted.

Callie immediately responded, "Okay, I'm coming."

As soon as she walked away, mocking sneers erupted behind her.

Bessie remarked, "With Callie's ability, who does she think she is?"

"Callie is so ugly, not even as good-looking as us! I heard Callie only got a few second female lead roles because she knows how to flatter directors. Otherwise, she'd be playing maids for life."

Bessie deliberately raised her voice.

In their industry, everyone knew what she meant.

Sure enough, Callie instantly stopped in her tracks.

Then, she turned around.

She stopped in front of Bessie, who had just spoken, and arrogantly asked, "Did you say that?"

Bessie, also hot-tempered, wasn't afraid at all.

Bessie straightened up, raised her head, and firmly replied, "Yes, I said it. So what?"

"Fine!" Callie sneered.

The next moment, to everyone's surprise.

Callie suddenly raised her hand and slapped Bessie across the face.

Callie used a lot of force, and Bessie's face instantly turned red, showing clear finger marks.

Soon, Callie slapped Bessie on the other side of her face as well.

Bessie felt a profound sense of injustice as Callie unexpectedly slapped her twice.

In the end, she covered her face and ran away in fear.

At that moment, Callie looked down at everyone, her voice full of threat.

"Listen up, I warn you all, if you dare discuss me, I'll knock your mouths out."

"And Bessie you just saw? She's your destiny."

After this, the hallway descended into an unsettling silence, so profound that one could hear a pin drop. Grace had been silently standing in the line the whole time, not saying a word.

Grace wasn't surprised by Callie's arrogance and domineering attitude.

What really shocked her, though, was that after all these years, Callie had only become more insufferable. With Callie's personality, it was a miracle she had lasted in the entertainment industry this long.

But everyone had heard that a big shot liked her fiery, rebellious personality.

"Callie, hurry, it's your turn, come on."

With Lydia's call, Callie quickly ran over in her high heels.

As soon as Callie left, the hallway buzzed with noise again, but no one dared to discuss her; fear lingered in the air. At that moment, a director's assistant came out.

"Everyone, quiet down. Those auditioning for the lead female role, line up on my right; those auditioning for the second female lead, line up on my left."

"Find your role and don't stand in the wrong place."

"By the way, Grace Morgan, is Grace here?"

Suddenly, the director's assistant shouted towards the line.

With this shout, the crowd started buzzing.

"Oh my God, did I hear that right? Grace, did he call for Grace?"

"He definitely called for Grace, absolutely, I heard it too."

"But Grace had such a big scandal back then, the whole internet was cursing her. Didn't she quit the entertainment industry? Even though she was cyberbullied out, she was once a top star. Would she even consider this movie? What a joke!"

"I don't think it's her either, probably just someone with the same name."

"Maybe it really is Grace, and she's chosen to make a comeback in the entertainment industry."

Various voices filled the air.

The director's assistant raised his voice again, "Grace, are you here? If you are, come over quickly."

In the line, Grace's eyes widened, and she clenched her fists tightly.

Her nails dug into her flesh.

But she didn't feel any pain.

Although no one had yet cast a glance at Grace, she felt as though countless eyes were upon her.

Grace's ears seemed to be filled with hallucinations.

All those voices that had cursed her back then.

One after another, endlessly.

"Grace, get out, get out of the entertainment industry."

"Why do something like that, being a homewrecker, it's disgusting."

"Bitch, if you're going to cheat, why with a married man? You deserve to die."

"Grace, you disappoint me so much. I used to be your top fan, but from this moment on, I despise you, spit on you, curse you. Homewreckers deserve to die. Go to hell!"

"Grace, please go; you're killing the mood!"
