Chapter 551 The Baby is at Risk of Miscarriage

Jessica was afraid that everything was just a dream.

She was even more afraid that everything was fake.

Seeing her in a daze and silent for a long time, Francis gently cupped her face and asked patiently, "Why aren't you talking? Are you not satisfied with my answer?"

Shaking her head, Jessica looked at him, "No, I just feel it's so unreal. I'm so scared that all of this is just my illusion."

"Silly girl."

Francis whispered, lowering his head and deliberately touching her nose with his straight nose.

"Jessica, I am real, my feelings are real, and everything you hear and see is real."

"If you're afraid it's fake, then pinch me."

Following his words, Jessica reached out and pinched him.

The touch was so real, even the warmth of his skin felt incredibly real.

So, everything was real.

Realizing this, a smile instantly bloomed on her lips.

"Francis, have you thought it through? Do you want to be with me?"

He nodded, his tone firm, "I've thought it through, deeply considered."

"What about Celia? What are you going to do about her?"

"I will explain everything to her and break off the engagement."

Jessica still had doubts in her heart, even though everything seemed solvable.

But there was one problem that was too difficult to handle.

Seeing her brows tightly knitted together, Francis patiently asked, "Is there something else you want to say?"

Looking at her belly, Jessica then looked at Francis, "Even if you cancel the engagement, what about the baby? What are you going to do about the baby in Celia's belly?"

"That's a life, you can't just end it."

Mentioning this issue, Francis also felt troubled.

Indeed, a living life, he couldn't just give up on it.

He couldn't possibly take away this living life.

"I'm sorry, Jessica, but I can't be heartless and cruel about the baby."

"I need to respect Celia's wishes. If she decides to give up, I will agree; if she insists, I will find someone to take care of her until she gives birth, and I will bear the child support, but I will give up custody and visitation rights, only providing financial support."

"Jessica, I know this will be hard for you to accept, but can you still accept me, flaws and all?"

Jessica looked at him, momentarily unsure of how to respond.

As a mother, Jessica understood that every life was innocent.

But as his wife, Jessica couldn't possibly allow Celia to have a baby with Gabriel.

Jessica couldn't bring herself to make Celia cruelly abort the baby, but she also couldn't be magnanimous enough to say she didn't care.

Of course, Jessica cared deeply.

But the baby was already formed, how cruel would it be to kill it?

Moreover, this was a mistake Gabriel made during his amnesia, should Jessica forgive him?

After what felt like an eternity, Jessica let out a sigh.

Then Jessica reached out and hugged Francis's waist, "I can't truly forgive you, but since I love you and choose to be with you in the future, I'm willing to let this matter go."

"In the future, let's not bring this up again, okay?"

Francis hugged Jessica tightly.

If they were face to face, Jessica could even see his tear-filled eyes.

"Jessica, thank you for your beauty and kindness, and for being so understanding."

"I'll never let you down, no matter what."

He held her, his voice trembling, and even his body was trembling.

He was moved, and even more, he was excited.

At that moment, he knew he hadn't loved the wrong person.

Next, the two thought about how to get down the mountain.

At first, they intended to have Louie send someone up to meet them, but Jessica ended up speaking, "Our phones probably don't have any signal, we can't contact Louie."

Otherwise, she would have called Louie when she got lost.

"No problem, I'll take you down, but the road is a bit rough and a bit far, can you manage?"

Looking at him, Jessica nodded reassuringly.

"As long as you're here, I'm not afraid."

"Alright, let's go."

While going down the mountain, Francis held Jessica's hand tightly with one hand and cleared the trees on both sides with the other, so Jessica could walk through smoothly.

Worried about Jessica's condition, he would find a flat place for her to rest every twenty minutes or so.

"Why did you come up the mountain? You're in the late stages of pregnancy, and you're walking around alone?" Francis asked during a break.

Jessica answered truthfully, "The doctor said the baby is growing well, maybe a bit big, and advised me to exercise more."

"I thought the mountain here was gentle, so I came for a walk."

"By the way, I met someone halfway up, he pointed me in this direction."

Hearing this, Francis immediately became alert.

"What kind of person? Describe him to me."

"Wearing all black, tall and thin, carrying a fish on his back. He saw me, chatted with me for a bit, and then pointed me in a direction, saying I would see many beautiful flowers in full bloom if I followed his path."

"I didn't think much of it and followed his direction, but I got lost. When I tried to go back, it was too late."

"I was scared, didn't dare to move or walk around, so I sat there crying helplessly."

Jessica just calmly recounted what happened.

But Francis was already drenched in cold sweat.

His heart was pounding.

Luckily, he found her, otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Locals hardly ever come to this mountain, so how could someone just happen to meet Jessica?

Moreover, there were no beautiful flowers in full bloom on this mountain.

From the encounter to the directions to the description of the scenery, it all seemed like a meticulously planned trap.

But who set this trap?

Seeing his serious expression, Jessica couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing, just worried about your condition."

He smiled, ruffling Jessica's hair to ease her mind.

Fortunately, after resting for a bit and just about to set off, Louie had already sent people to find them.

An hour later, under everyone's care, Jessica safely descended the mountain.

Jessica's condition was also fine.

As soon as they got down, their phones had a signal.

Francis opened his phone and found dozens of missed calls.

All from Alisha.

Francis suddenly had a bad feeling. As soon as he called back, Alisha's anxious voice came through.

"Francis, finally I found you. Where have you been? Do you know Celia just fell at home, lost a lot of blood, and the baby is at risk of miscarriage? She's in the hospital now, being rescued."
