Chapter 601 Surviving the Danger
Gilbert was a bit stronger than Freddy.
Gilbert didn't cry out loud, but tears streamed down his face. Eventually, he couldn't hold it in any longer and let out a cry.
"Mommy."
"Mommy, don't leave us!"
Gilbert and Freddy cried so hard, their sobs were heart-wrenching.
Maybe it was hearing Gilbert and Freddy's cries that made the baby in Gabriel's arms suddenly cried loudly too.
Seeing this scene, a thought suddenly arose in Gabriel's mind.
As Gabriel held the baby and walked with Freddy and Gilbert towards the operating room, his heart began to pound wildly.
Gabriel was worried about disturbing the surgery and also worried that Gilbert and Freddy would be scared if they saw the operating table, leaving them with trauma.
So the room was slightly arranged; the medical staff were carrying out the rescue on one side, while they only looked at Jessica's head on the other side, with a cloth tightly covering the middle.
On the operating table, Jessica lay there quietly.
Her hair was disheveled, her face pale, but her expression was eerily calm.
She looked as if she wasn't breathing.
"Honey, it's Gabriel. I brought our three kids to see you."
"They all say you're in danger, but I know you love me and our three kids. You wouldn't want to leave us."
"Don't be afraid; the kids and I will always be by your side, fighting alongside you against the Grim Reaper."
Then Gabriel looked at Freddy and Gilbert. "Tell Mommy everything you want to say to her."
Gilbert and Freddy each held one of Jessica's hands.
Overwhelmed by their sadness, Gilbert and Freddy cried as they spoke, "Mommy, you always taught us to be strong. This time, it's your turn to be strong."
"Mommy, you have to wake up soon. Please don't leave us, okay?"
"Mommy, I promise to be more sensible and well-behaved in the future. Mommy, as long as you wake up, we'll do anything you want."
By the end, Gilbert and Freddy couldn't control themselves anymore.
They held Jessica's hands and couldn't stop shaking them.
"Mommy, I'm begging you, don't die!"
"Don't die!"
The baby started crying, and Gabriel immediately placed her against Jessica's face.
Ten seconds later, suddenly, the doctor shouted, "The bleeding has stopped."
"Kids, keep going, say more to Mommy."
"Mommy can hear you."
Gabriel held Jessica's head and planted a strong kiss on her forehead.
A few minutes later, the doctor finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Alright, the bleeding has finally stopped."
Then, they looked at Gilbert and Freddy with tired smiles. "Kids, don't worry, your mom has made it through the critical period."
"Your mom will wake up. Can you go out for now?"
At that moment, Gabriel felt like he was in a dream.
"Jessica is really out of danger?" he asked almost mechanically, his mind still blank.
"Don't worry, the bleeding has stopped. She's no longer in life-threatening danger. She'll be moved back to the ward soon."
Hearing the doctor's reassuring words, Gabriel finally felt a sense of relief.
Just moments ago, he was like a walking corpse.
Gabriel lowered his head and planted another kiss on Jessica's forehead, speaking emotionally, "Honey, the kids and I will be waiting for you outside!"
As Gabriel stood up, a few tears, as hot as boiling water, fell onto Jessica's forehead.
The tears were crystal clear, yet heavy.
When Gabriel took the three kids out, everyone was eagerly waiting.
"The bleeding has stopped. The doctor said Jessica is out of danger."
Hearing this, everyone breathed a heavy sigh of relief.
"That's great."
Vincent took Tina for treatment, while the others continued to wait outside the operating room.
An hour later, Jessica was moved from the operating room to the ward.
With Jessica's vital signs stabilized and she was out of danger, everyone felt a wave of happiness.
The heavy expressions on their faces faded, gradually replaced by smiles.
Gabriel stayed by Jessica's side, his eyes rarely leaving her, unwilling to look away for even a moment.
There was another man just like him.
Alfonso stayed on the other side of Jessica's bed, looking at her intently.
The more he looked, the more Alfonso felt she resembled him when he was young.
Especially Jessica's eyebrows and eyes were exactly like his.
It was uncanny.
He didn't know that when he and Giselle broke up, she was already pregnant.
He didn't know he had a daughter.
Now, his daughter was all grown up, not only married but also with three adorable kids.
Thinking about it, Alfonso's tears flowed even more.
"Jessica, when you wake up, I will make up for all the fatherly love you missed."
"With me around, no one will ever bully you."
On the other side, Jonah Freddy, and Gilbert's attention was all on the newborn baby.
It was only at that moment that everyone suddenly realized they didn't know if the baby was a boy or a girl.
Before revealing the answer, Jonah happily looked at Freddy and Gilbert. "Freddy, Gilbert, you first. Do you think the baby is a boy or a girl?"
Freddy and Gilbert said in unison, "Of course, it's a girl!"
"Gabriel, what about you?" Jonah looked at Gabriel.
"I'll love them no matter what," Gabriel said.
Gabriel admitted that before this when he saw other people's little girls, he really wanted a daughter.
He even thought having a daughter would be like having a mini version of Jessica.
Through his daughter, Gabriel could see the pink, soft, and cute little Jessica from her childhood.
But after everything that had happened, especially this incident, he suddenly felt that nothing else mattered.
As long as it was Jessica's child, as long as Jessica was safe, he would love them whether they were a boy or a girl.
Seeing everyone guessing, Alfonso chimed in, "I also want a granddaughter."
"Alright, let's reveal the answer."
Lifting the thin cloth to take a look, Jonah happily looked at Freddy and Gilbert. "Congratulations, Freddy and Gilbert, your dream has come true. It's a lovely baby girl."
Hearing the answer, Gabriel was instantly moved to tears.
Gabriel excitedly grabbed Jessica's hand, kissing it over and over.
His tears dripped down her fingers. "Honey, did you hear that?"
"It's a girl. Your dream has come true."
"So, honey, please wake up, okay? Wake up and see our daughter."
It seemed that Jessica heard Gabriel's words, as suddenly, her fingers moved.
Gabriel immediately shouted excitedly, "Honey, did you hear what I said?"
Soon, her finger movements became more pronounced.
A few minutes later, Jessica finally slowly opened her eyes.
