Chapter 364 Now, You Belong to Me
Jessica was over the moon. "Really? That's awesome! Does that mean I'll get to see what the babies look like soon?"
"Yep." Faye nodded with a grin.
Faye held the instrument in one hand, rolling it over Jessica's belly, while tapping on the device with the other. She carefully examined the images.
Looking up, Faye smiled, "The babies look a lot like their dad. They've got high noses and big eyes. They're gonna be super cute when they're born."
Hearing this, Jessica's heart swelled with excitement. She hadn't asked about the babies' gender because, to her, it didn't really matter. She just wanted them to be healthy and happy.
Whether they were boys or girls, she'd be thrilled. She wanted to leave that surprise for the delivery day.
After the check-up, Gabriel and Jessica were over the moon as they looked at the ultrasound results.
Jessica, in particular, couldn't stop staring at the images of the babies. She was mesmerized by the thought of what they would look like once they were born.
"Gabriel, can you believe it? I'm so happy. How can they be so cute!" she said, her voice filled with joy.
"Look at these little hands, they're so tiny and delicate. What am I gonna do? I can't wait a few more months, I want to see them right now."
The excitement lingered as they made their way back home. On the flight back, Jessica was as giddy as a little girl. Whenever the topic of the babies came up, she couldn't stop talking. Gabriel just watched her quietly, listening to her chatter.
After a while, Jessica noticed his silence and looked at him, asking, "Gabriel, why aren't you saying anything? It feels like I'm the only one talking."
Gabriel played with a strand of her hair and said softly, "Because I'm enjoying this moment, enjoying watching your happiness."
"Jessica, you have no idea how lucky I feel to see you smiling again. Your smile means everything to me. Seeing you happy makes me even happier."
Pulling Jessica close, Gabriel cupped her cheeks, his gaze suddenly earnest. "Jessica, promise me, if something like this happens again, don't make decisions on your own. Talk to me about it, okay?"
"Do you know how I spent the days you were gone? I couldn't even go home because it was filled with your scent, but I couldn't hold you. I kept regretting not realizing what you were thinking in time, not stopping all this from happening."
Gabriel's voice softened, filled with earnest emotion. "I've missed so much in the past, but from now on, everything I do will be for you and the babies. Trust me a little more, and trust yourself a little more, okay?"
"Okay." Jessica nodded vigorously, then threw herself into Gabriel's arms.
When they got home, it was dinner time.
Jessica and Gabriel had just reached the door when they saw everyone standing in a line waiting for her.
Danielle stood at the front. She wasn't one to show her emotions easily, but seeing Jessica, she couldn't help but shed tears.
She tightly held Jessica's hand. "Jessica, don't say anything. It's just good to have you back."
Charlotte was also in tears. "Mrs. Jessica Walton, you're finally back. Did you suffer while you were away? Were you cold? Did you eat well? Did you sleep well?"
Looking at them and hearing these warm words, Jessica couldn't hold back her tears. "I'm sorry for making everyone worry about me. Don't worry, the babies and I are fine."
Jessica handed the ultrasound images to Danielle. "Mom, I just had a 4D ultrasound today. These are the images of the babies. Take a look."
Charlotte immediately leaned in too. The two of them clung to the images, not wanting to let go. They walked and chatted animatedly, sharing their thoughts and dreams for the babies.
Gabriel helped Jessica to the table, which was loaded with a feast of all her favorite foods.
Meanwhile, Danielle and Charlotte were still glued to the ultrasound images.
Gabriel chuckled, "You two are so excited about the babies, you almost forgot about Jessica."
Charlotte quickly replied, "Look at me, I'm so happy I'm all mixed up. Let me get some nutritious food from the kitchen for Mrs. Jessica Walton."
Soon, Charlotte returned with a crystal bowl filled with nutritious food and handed it to Jessica.
"Thanks, Charlotte."
"It's my pleasure, Mrs. Jessica Walton. I'll make sure you have this every day so that when the babies are born, their skin will be as smooth as silk."
Jessica smiled, feeling the warmth of Charlotte's care. "Charlotte, do you have any guesses about the babies' genders?"
Charlotte grinned, "Well, I have a feeling they're boys. No scientific basis, just my intuition. But don't underestimate it, it's pretty accurate. When Mrs. Danielle Walton was pregnant, I thought it was a boy at first glance, and I was right."
They chatted and laughed, and Jessica enjoyed her dinner amidst the cheerful conversation.
Later, upstairs, Jessica pushed open the bedroom door. Seeing the familiar surroundings, she felt a wave of emotions. When she left, she thought she'd never have the chance to come back here. Unexpectedly, she was able to return.
Suddenly, the door closed. The next moment, Gabriel's tall figure walked in.
He came up from behind and wrapped Jessica in his arms. His head gently rested on her shoulder, his voice low and incredibly sexy. "Jessica, I've been waiting all day."
"Waiting all day for what?" Jessica was puzzled.
"In the morning, your time was for the babies. In the afternoon, your time was for sleeping. Just now, your time was for everyone. Only now, your time is mine, entirely mine," Gabriel said, his warm cheek pressing against Jessica's.
The two of them snuggled even closer together.
Jessica reached out, gently caressing his face to comfort him. "My heart is yours, from the beginning to the end, it has always been yours."
"Jessica?" Gabriel called her softly.
"Yes?"
"Do you know who I'm most grateful to right now?"
"Who?"
"Grandpa," they almost spoke in unison, a smile spreading across both of their faces.
Gabriel continued, his voice full of emotion, "It's because of Grandpa that I was able to marry you. And it's because of him that I could see everything clearly. If it weren't for him, I would have missed you for a lifetime."
Jessica nodded, her eyes glistening with gratitude. "Yes, Grandpa gave me the courage to get close to you. Without him, I might never have had the strength to approach you."
Gabriel couldn't hold back any longer and kissed Jessica deeply. At that moment, the longing of many days surged like a tide, overwhelming them both.
Jessica, no longer shy, was bold and proactive this time. She wrapped her arms around Gabriel's neck and responded with all her heart.
