Chapter 93 Gabriel Meets Vincent Again

She had two small bottles of mineral water in her bag, one of which was unopened. From the other one, she took a small sip. Because she only drank a little, she didn't feel much difference at all, so when she took it out, she didn't pay much attention. Unexpectedly, it was such a small oversight that led to a real mistake.

Seeing Jessica looking at the empty mineral water bottle, looking hesitant, Vincent asked, "What's wrong?"

"Um, I..." If she said it out loud, it would be too embarrassing.

Finally, Jessica changed the subject. "It's nothing, I just wanted to ask how you're doing?"

"I'm fine. How about you, how do you feel?"

After Vincent finished speaking, he looked at Jessica.

At this look, he immediately looked away. He then made a light hum, a gentle reminder.

Jessica was a bit cute at this moment, not reacting immediately. So Vincent spoke again, this time more indirectly but with a hint of directness. "Your clothes..."

Jessica followed her gaze to her clothes, and as soon as she looked, she immediately hugged herself with both hands, and then her face turned red. She bit her lip, her face as red as a cherry. In her heart, she felt extremely embarrassed.

She thought, 'Jessica, you're such a fool, how could you not think of this in such heavy rain? You even had to have someone point it out, and he had to remind you twice before you realized. You're just too stupid!'

She was wearing a white shirt today, made of silk fabric, very light and breathable. Under normal circumstances, everything was fine, but after being soaked in the rain just now, her clothes became very thin and translucent.

More importantly, even the color of her bra inside was faintly visible.

She really felt like she couldn't face anyone now, and she seemed to have not brought any spare clothes either.

Jessica bit her lip, furrowing her brows lightly, thinking about what to do for a moment. Vincent took off his jacket, walked to the side of the pavilion, and wrung out the water forcefully. After wringing it several times, he shook out the jacket and handed it to Jessica.

"My clothes are a bit wet too, but if you don't mind, you can wear this first."

"Okay, thank you!" Jessica said. This time, she certainly wouldn't refuse. Taking the jacket, she turned around to put it on.

It wasn't until she made sure she wasn't revealing anything that she turned around with peace of mind.

Vincent's phone rang again. It was Ennifer calling.

"It's pouring buckets. Where are you? Did you caught in it?" Ennifer got straight to the point.

"It's nothing, I'm here at the pavilion. Send someone to pick me up."

"Okay, wait there, we'll be right over."

Realizing they were coming up together, Vincent immediately said, "Sis, I have a friend with me. You go home with mom first, then have the driver come pick me up. I'm not in a hurry."

"A friend?" Ennifer was puzzled, with a hint of gossip in her tone. "What friend? Besides, I've met all your friends. Let your friend come with us, there's enough room in our car."

"There are too many of you, I'm afraid she'll be scared if you all come," Vincent replied.

Ennifer immediately understood. "I see, in that case, me and mom won't come. Madison will come get you."

"She doesn't need to come here, she'll just cause trouble upon her arrival," Vincent frowned.

Just as he finished speaking, a dissatisfied voice from Madison came from the other side, Bro, who are you talking about? You're a police officer, is it okay to speak ill of your own sister behind her back? If you don't let me come, I'll come anyway."

Vincent was speechless. He had planned everything out, but sometimes he couldn't handle his younger sister, who was several years younger than him, chattering away.

Thinking that Madison would be coming up soon, Vincent felt quite distressed. Especially since Jessica was still wearing his jacket.

When she came up, she would surely ask countless questions and would chatter all the way. Hanging up the phone, Vincent walked toward Jessica. "I just made a call, someone will come to pick us up soon. Since it's raining heavily, and it won't stop for a while, I'll take you back."

After hearing this, Jessica immediately politely declined. "Thank you, Vincent, but I've already troubled you a lot today."

"It's just a small favor," Vincent said.

"It's okay, really. The rain is so heavy, and I've already made you all wet,. If I delay you further, I'll feel even more guilty."

Vincent insisted. "I have plenty of time today."

While Jessica was still pondering how to refuse, suddenly, a horn sounded.

She thought it was Vincent's car coming to pick him up. She never expected that in the pouring rain, the person getting out of the car would be Gabriel. Jessica could hardly believe it, she thought she was hallucinating.

However, as the heavy rain fell, Gabriel's tall figure, holding an umbrella, was getting closer and clearer. Jessica realized that everything was real.

Gabriel had actually come. How could he be here? This was something she wouldn't even dare to dream of.

"Jessica." With a familiar and caring voice, Gabriel put down the umbrella and stood in front of her.
"Why didn't you check the weather forecast before going out? Also, in such heavy rain, didn't you think of calling me to pick you up?"

Gabriel's tone was filled with obvious concern.

"Weren't you at work?" In the past, she would have called him at first. But ever since a series of incidents happened some time ago, she had lost the courage to do so.

"Is work more important than my wife?" Gabriel replied. His answer was so firm, so matter-of-fact. Jessica admitted that her hardened heart was once again shattered and now she was deeply moved.

He always did this hurt her deeply, and then unintentionally moved her just as deeply.

"Let's go, let's go home!" With those words, it was only at this moment that Gabriel noticed Jessica was wearing a man's jacket.

The next moment, he saw a man standing at the other end of the pavilion, with his back to him.
That figure seemed somewhat familiar to him.

Just then, Madison arrived. She got out of the car, held an umbrella, quickly rushed into the pavilion, and walked toward Vincent. "Bro, I'm here. This must be your friend, right?"

Vincent was actually deliberately trying to make himself scarce. The reason was simple he didn't want his presence to cause trouble for Jessica.

Unfortunately, Madison arrived at this moment, breaking the peace of the pavilion.

Suddenly, Gabriel walked toward Vincent. His steps were slow and heavy, filled with obvious anger and hostility.

Just as he was about to speak, Jessica immediately stepped forward and held Gabriel's hand. "Since you're here, let's go home!"
