Chapter 315 Jessica Found Out
Seeing Jack was convinced, Patricia nudged him, "Who says she won't marry you? Jack, don't forget. You two already had sex. If I release the video, she'll have no choice but to marry you."
Jack frowned, "You're making it too simple. Besides, nothing happened between us."
Patricia's eyes widened, "How is that possible? I have the video."
Jack stared at her in disbelief, "What did you say? Where did you get the video?"
"From the hotel room," Patricia replied.
"Give it to me."
After getting the video, Jack locked himself in his room.
When he finished watching it, his chest was heaving.
He remembered being unconscious, thinking nothing had happened between them.
But the video clearly showed that he and Jessica had indeed had sex.
Since that was the case, he had to take responsibility for her.
Holding the phone, Jack rushed to find Jessica.
When she saw the video, Jessica's whole body trembled, her face turning deathly pale.
She gripped her hand tightly, shaking uncontrollably, her eyes glued to the screen.
Even though she knew the girl in the video wasn't her, Jessica still felt sick to her stomach.
Unable to hold it in, she covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom, vomiting until she was empty.
At that moment, she didn't know whether to be relieved that the girl in the video wasn't her or to feel sorry for the girl.
When Jessica came out, Jack grabbed her hand, saying, "Jessica, I told you I'd take responsibility for you. If you're willing, I can marry you right now and give you the most luxurious, grand wedding."
Jessica looked at him coldly and refused without hesitation, "Dream on, Jack. I'd rather die than marry you."
She paused the video and looked at Jack, saying, "Look closely, the girl in the video has a mole on her left arm."
"What do you mean?"
Jessica rolled up her sleeve, showing her entire left arm to Jack, "See? My left arm is clean, there's nothing."
Even though he already knew, Jack still couldn't believe it. He stared at the video, feeling like he'd been struck by lightning.
"So, the girl in the video isn't me. I admit, they went to great lengths to find a girl who looks so much like me. If I didn't look closely, I almost got fooled. But now, I can tell you with certainty, that girl isn't me." Jessica let out a sigh of relief, "Jack, I should thank you. Thank you for showing me this evidence, for letting me know that nothing happened between us. Now, I want to ask you one last question, and I hope you'll answer honestly."
"Okay, ask away," Jack said, defeated.
"Yesterday, how did you explain things to Gabriel?" Jessica asked directly.
Jack's lips moved, and he licked his dry lips before slowly speaking, "I didn't explain to him. Instead, I confirmed our relationship. Since you're asking, you must have already guessed, right?"
Jessica let out a cold laugh, feeling a chill pierce her heart.
She had already guessed it, but hearing him admit it so bluntly still left her in disbelief.
"Why?"
Jessica thought she'd be hysterical, demanding answers. But now, she found herself suddenly calm.
"You promised me, why did you go back on your word?"
Jack also smiled bitterly, "Do you know why Gabriel wanted to beat me to death?"
"Because you provoked him."
Jack said, "I did provoke him. I said we had sex, and he was indeed very angry. But do you think that's the whole reason? Jessica, you're too naive. Why would I lie to someone for no reason? Unless that person is someone I despise. You've been in the Walton Family for so long. Haven't you heard any secrets? Like, Jonah had an affair and kept a mistress outside, and I am the child of that mistress."
These words hit Jessica like a bomb.
She never imagined that Gabriel and Jack would have such a relationship.
They were actually half-brothers.
It turned out, she was the biggest fool.
She actually had asked Jack to help explain her innocence.
"I'm sorry, Gabriel," Jessica said, looking up, filled with a thousand regrets.
She could now imagine how painful it must have been for Gabriel when Jack told those lies. One was the person he loved most, and the other was his hated half-brother.
No wonder he had acted so strangely that day.
"Anyway, thank you for telling the truth. Now, I hope you disappear from my world completely and utterly. Never see you again."
With that, Jessica pushed him out of the room and slammed the door shut.
Outside, only Jack was left standing there stiffly.
Was he pathetic?
How could he not be?
He had been deceived by his own mother over and over again.
Was revenge really that important?
Was it worth her gambling everything, including her own son?
He looked up, feeling as if a knife was twisting in his heart, and walked away despondently.
Jessica called Gabriel repeatedly, but no one answered.
Gabriel had already been discharged from the hospital. Although his stomach bleeding hadn't healed, he insisted on going home.
He saw Jessica's calls, of course.
He just hadn't figured out how to face her yet.
He wasn't a saint and couldn't be indifferent to what Jack had said.
But he knew very clearly what he wanted.
He wanted her, her future, their happiness, not just her body.
But please, give him a little more time.
"I'm sorry, Jessica. I just need some time," he said, looking up and closing his eyes in pain.
But Jessica couldn't wait any longer.
Something told her she had to see him and explain everything clearly, or it would be even harder to explain in the future.
Outside, it was pouring rain.
But without a second thought, Jessica grabbed an umbrella and rushed into the rain, then took a cab to Gabriel's house.
When she rang the doorbell, Jessica was already soaked, saying, "Gabriel, it's me. I know you're home. I want to see you."
