Chapter 577 Reconciliation 2

"Before coming back, Celia's mom stabbed me with a knife. Celia went to jail to take the blame for her mom," Gabriel explained.

Jessica listened, feeling both angry and worried.

"It's been so long, Gabriel. You haven't been taking care of yourself."

"You said you'd take care of me and the baby, but you're hurt so badly, bleeding non-stop. How can you take care of us like this?"

Though she was scolding him, Jessica was extremely worried.

Especially when she saw the severe tear in the wound on his back, with fresh, bright blood continuously flowing out.

She became even more anxious, her voice lowering with concern.

"It must hurt a lot, doesn't it?"

"It's been so long and it hasn't healed. Have you seen a doctor?"

Gabriel nodded, "I did. Dr. Webb said..."

He hesitated. On one hand, he didn't want to lie to her, but on the other, he didn't want to worry her.

"What did Dr. Webb say?" Jessica asked anxiously.

"Dr. Webb suggested I be hospitalized," Gabriel finally admitted.

Hearing this, Jessica turned to find a suitcase.

Gabriel put on a white shirt and walked over, "Honey, don't worry too much. Dr. Webb was just trying to scare me. It's not that serious."

Jessica's eyes were red, "Your wound hasn't healed; it's still bleeding. How can it not be serious?"

"I'm packing your things. We're going to the hospital right now."

"Honey," Gabriel called.

Jessica turned to him, "I said you need to be hospitalized. Are you going or not? If you don't go, then for the next few days, you won't be allowed to..."

Before she could finish, Gabriel quickly grabbed her hand, "I'll go, I'll go to the hospital."

"Whatever you say, I'll do."

Hearing these, Jessica couldn't help but blush, "Then let's go now."

"Okay."

At the hospital, since it was nighttime, there weren't many people, so the admission process was quick.

Gabriel was soon settled into a ward.

After examining him, Derek prescribed some medication.

Before leaving, Derek suddenly looked at Jessica and asked, "You're his wife, right?"

The sudden question startled Jessica, but before she could answer, Gabriel proudly said, "Yes, she's my wife."

Derek smiled knowingly, "I suggested he be hospitalized during the day, but he refused."

"Having you by his side makes a difference. Now he's obediently here."

Gabriel remained silent.

Jessica smiled, "Dr. Webb, rest assured. I'll make sure he cooperates with your treatment."

Derek looked at Gabriel, "See, your wife is sensible."

Gabriel remained silent.

Once everything was settled, Gabriel asked Louie to take Jessica home to rest.

After all, it was a hospital bustling with many people coming and going.

Jessica was in her late pregnancy and needed to rest at home.

"Take good care of yourself, make sure to take your medicine, and get your injections on time. I'll come see you tomorrow."

Gabriel shook his head, "You're heavily pregnant. It's inconvenient for you to come. Just stay home and rest. I promise to cooperate with the treatment and get discharged soon."

At that moment, Louie stepped through the door and paused, waiting.

Seeing him, Gabriel pretended to be in pain.

Sure enough, Jessica immediately walked over and asked anxiously, "What's wrong? Does the wound still hurt?"

"Yes," Gabriel nodded vigorously, "But if you kiss me, it won't hurt."

Jessica leaned in and whispered, "Louie is standing right there. Be subtle!"

"That's exactly why I need to be loud."

With that, Gabriel hugged Jessica and kissed her forehead.

Then Gabriel looked at Louie and instructed loudly, "Take Mrs. Walton home. While I'm not home, make sure to take good care of her."

"Yes, Mr. Walton. Don't worry."

On the way back, Jessica looked at Louie, feeling a bit embarrassed, "Don't mind him. Sometimes he acts like a child, getting jealous easily."

Louie smiled but said nothing.

Only a man understood another man.

Louie hid his feelings well, always showing dedication and responsibility towards his job.

But Gabriel, being a man, could see the deep thoughts Louie harbored.

He knew Gabriel was warning him.

But Louie's intentions were simple. He was content just being by Jessica's side, ensuring her safety.

He didn't dare hope for more.

He never even thought about it.

During this time, Jonah had been managing the company.

Gabriel, due to his injuries, planned to return to the company once he recovered.

Somehow, the media found out Gabriel's room number, barged in, took some photos, and widely reported his condition.

Though this behavior was annoying, it had to be said that Gabriel's absence for months had led to rampant speculation.

Some said Gabriel had died in a car accident, others said he was crippled and had given up on life, and some even said he had committed suicide.

Rumors were everywhere.

The Walton family had never responded.

Now that Gabriel had finally appeared, many were shocked.

Especially as the Walton Group's stock price soared.

After a few days of rest, Gabriel's injuries had mostly healed.

Jessica's due date was also approaching.

But she seemed troubled, always downcast.

Especially in the past few days, after a few phone calls, her mood worsened.

"Honey," Gabriel held her in his arms at night, "Is something bothering you? Tell me."

Jessica turned, gently placing her hand on her belly, her voice sad.

"You know, Carter isn't my biological father."

"Since learning this, I've been searching for my biological dad. I prayed that when Freddy and Gilbert were born, I would find him, but five years have passed."

"Now our daughter is about to be born. I hope she can meet her grandfather when she's born."

"But..." Jessica said, hugging Gabriel tightly, "Over the years, I've hired detectives to help me, but every time there's no news. It's like my dad disappeared without a trace."

"A living person can't have no information. These days, I keep dreaming. Honey, do you think my dad is already..."

Jessica didn't dare to continue.

Otherwise, how could there be no trace at all?

"Honey, don't overthink it. Leave it to me. I'll find your dad," Gabriel assured.

"Really?"

Hugging him tightly, Gabriel raised an eyebrow, "Don't you trust me?"

"I do."

Kissing her forehead, Gabriel continued, "All these years, you rarely mentioned your dad. I thought you had forgotten. I didn't know you were secretly looking for him. If I had known, I would have helped you."

"So, don't worry about anything. Leave it all to me."
