Chapter 89 Don't Answer Me, Don't Leave

Gabriel wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

He smiled, looking disdainfully at Jonah: "Is this all you've got left?"

"Gabriel, look... How did you become like this?"

"Didn't I learn from you? What right do you have to judge me?" Gabriel smiled, his smile full of recklessness and wickedness.

"When did it become your turn to lecture me? What I'm talking about now is about you and Jessica. When Xavier left, he repeatedly instructed you to take good care of her, to cherish her, to protect her. And what happened?"

"Look at the mess you've made. Are you trying to drive me crazy?" Jonah's chest was heaving with anger.

Gabriel's sharp gaze met his: "What you just did may not have pleased Xavier."

"Gabriel, if I don't give you a good lesson today, I'm not your father."
Jonah angrily raised his hand to slap him.

At that moment, Danielle walked over, grabbed his hand, and forcefully pulled it down.

"I brought you here to solve the problem, not to escalate the conflict."

"You've raised a good son!" Jonah stormed out in anger.

Danielle glared at Gabriel, her gaze icy.

Gabriel also looked at him: "If I'm not mistaken, you helped me block that slap not to escalate our conflict, not to make me hate him more, but it's useless, I can't forgive him."

"You deserved to be hit. How could you throw such a grand birthday party for Diana? Have you ever considered Jessica's feelings?"

Mentioning Jessica, especially thinking of her leaving with Vincent, filled Gabriel with extreme displeasure.

Gabriel's voice dripped with jealousy: "She doesn't care at all."

After speaking, he felt a sense of defeat.

Before the birthday party, he had thought a thousand times, ten thousand times, that as long as Jessica contacted him and said she didn't like it, or acted a bit coquettish, asking him not to throw a birthday party for other women, he would cancel everything.

But he waited and waited, waited and waited!

He waited until today, until the moment the banquet started, but he never received her call.

Jessica could attend the party as if nothing happened, showing how little, she cared.

"How do you know she doesn't care? Did she tell you herself?"

"Does she need to say it herself? Her actions have already spoken volumes."

After speaking, Gabriel found a place and sat down silently.

The atmosphere grew heavy.

He had been extremely unhappy all day, devoid of any joy.

Danielle approached, handing him a tissue: "Women sometimes say one thing but mean another. The more they care, the more they pretend not to. Go back and soothe her, resolve the misunderstanding between you two. There's still time."

"Do you mean she actually does care?" Gabriel lifted his head, his eyes brightening slightly, a glimmer of hope in them.

"Your feelings for her, you know them best. I just don't want you to regret it. Instead of wasting time here, it's better to go back now." Danielle's words prompted Gabriel to immediately rush out.

Thirty minutes later, Gabriel returned home.

It was almost dawn when he arrived.

Jessica had been tossing and turning in bed, just falling asleep, when suddenly she felt a weight on her as if something heavy had pressed down on her.

Her heart skipped a beat, feeling a bit scared.

The next moment, she caught a familiar scent.

Then, Gabriel's tall figure pressed down on her, his breath heavy with alcohol: "Jessica, I know you went to the birthday party today."

Jessica's heart skipped a beat; she hadn't planned on letting him know.
She figured Diana must have told him.

Since she had been found out, she didn't intend to hide it, but remaining silent should be acceptable.

Seeing her silence, Gabriel asked again, "Why aren't you speaking?"

"What do you want me to say?"

She truly didn't know what to say.

Every word seemed so pale.

"Why did you go there? Are you upset?" Gabriel's drunkenness intensified.
Jessica didn't want to answer that question; she just wanted peace and quiet. She wanted to sleep.

She reached out to push Gabriel away.

But he held her tightly, almost suffocating her.

"You don’t have to answer me, just don't leave," Gabriel said dominantly in his drunken state.

Jessica looked up at him, seeing his eyes clouded by alcohol, and said softly, "Gabriel, I don't think any wife in the world could want to watch her husband dote on another woman and remain indifferent."

"Diana is your favorite. You want to give her the best of everything in the world, but what about me? In your eyes, am I just a plaything, devoid of emotions and pain? When you're happy, you play with me; when you're not, you discard me."

"I have no right to say no, and I can't influence your decisions. Even if you want to pluck stars and moons for her, I can only watch helplessly. If I say no, would you not go?" Jessica thought that today had been sad enough.

She had been trying hard to restrain herself, not to dwell on these thoughts or sad matters.

But Gabriel kept forcing her to admit it, forcing her to face it.

Gabriel, how cruel can you be?

"Fine, I won't go."

However, Jessica never expected to hear this answer.

She froze, almost thinking she misheard.

Gabriel's voice repeated clearly in her ear, "As long as you say no, I won't go."

Jessica looked at him with a bitter smile, "Gabriel, don't joke around. How could you..."

Before she could finish, Gabriel interrupted her, "Jessica, I'm not joking. Everything I say is true."

Gabriel's gaze was so sincere, his eyes intense, like a deep well that could pull people in.

Jessica tried to keep herself alert.

"But Gabriel, I no longer have the courage to believe you."

For some reason, Gabriel's mind suddenly flashed with that set of clothes, then Vincent's incredibly handsome face.

He reached out and suddenly grabbed Jessica, his voice turning cold and stern, "If you don't believe me, then who are you going to believe?

"Vincent?"

At the mention of Vincent, Jessica suddenly looked up.

Gabriel was filled with rage, "I remember telling you not to get too close to him. Have you ever taken my words to heart?"

"And what about you? I also said I didn't want you to meet Diana. Have you kept your distance from her? Gabriel, why are you always so domineering, so unreasonable?"

Domineering and unreasonable.

She actually used these words to describe him.

"In your eyes, am I really like that?" Gabriel's pitch-black eyes stared intensely into Jessica's, containing a suppressed rage as he asked.
