Chapter 111 Emerald Elf
While Chloe was feeling immense despair, Ethan returned to the villa and called Sarah.
Chloe’s strange phone call earlier left him worried, so he had to call Sarah and ask.
“You have a good relationship with Chloe. What could possibly happen to her? Stop overthinking.” After listening to Ethan, Sarah was silent for a bit and replied disdainfully.
Ethan rolled his eyes and asked, “I'm not joking right now; I just feel like something’s not right with her! You two are best friends, haven't you noticed anything unusual?”
“You're the one who’s unusual right. Always being so suspicious, I'm done talking to you!” she lightly snorted and ended the call.
Seeing the call being closed, Ethan's expression became even more peculiar.
Not only did he suspect Chloe had a problem, but even Sarah's reaction was off. What were these two women up to?
When Sharon woke up early in the morning, she couldn’t find Gabriella anywhere.
The suite had two rooms in total. Besides the master bedroom, there was also a maid's room. Sharon called out several times, but there was no response, which left her frowning.
Just then, someone knocked on the door. Sharon opened it and saw Andrew and Gabriella standing there.
Although confused, she still greeted Andrew. Little did she know her own mother had spent the night with him in the neighboring suite!
Gabriella urged her daughter, “Sharon, I just went downstairs for breakfast and happened to run into Mr. Johnson. He said there's a jewelry exhibition today, and he wants to bring us to see it! Quickly get ready; we’ll be leaving soon.”
Sharon felt like something was off about Gabriella at that moment, but she didn't think too much about it.
“People in the industry are saying that this one company’s female CEO spent a night with Beckett. In return, he agreed to use his jade that was carved into a fairy to help her company gain fame at the exhibition. Otherwise, how would a small company like that get their hands on such a precious thing?”
“I wonder if I can get a jade fairy worth over one billion dollars as well?” Andrew mocked, contempt in his tone.
Hearing this, Gabriella was intrigued. She thought that if she knew this Beckett, wouldn't she become wealthy?
Unbeknownst to Hannah and Beckett, some people were secretly plotting against them. Early in the morning, they arrived at the exhibition site with their company employees to set up their booth. The jade fairy was locked in a safe and guarded by armed men.
After everything was arrange, it was 9 o’clock and time for the exhibition to begin.
Many citizens and industry professionals waiting outside the site rushed into the venue. Hannah's booth was the center of attention, shining the brightest and attracting the most people.
Anyone who heard about the jade, be it media reporters, competitors, or ordinary people, wouldn't miss the chance to see it up close.
“Thank goodness we arranged over 20 in advance. Otherwise, it would’ve been chaotic here!”
Seeing how 8 staff members were needed just to maintain order around the jade fairy display, Hannah couldn't help but shake her head wryly albeit her eyes were filled with excitement.
She knew that after today, her company would definitely gain a prominent reputation within the industry. A period of rapid development was about to come!
“Where’s Mr. Wilson? Is he not coming on such an important day?” Beckett frowned, not seeing Ethan anywhere.
Hannah replied with a wry smile, “I invited him last night, but he told me he had matters today and might not make it.”
Beckett said regretfully, “Is that so? He asked me to find someone to determine that blue bead’s origins for him. My senior colleague just arrived in Novaria a few days, and he asked me to introduce them to each other.”
“I'll inform him later. He should contact you on his own!” Hannah's heart skipped a beat as she knew how important that bead was to Ethan. Obviously, she wouldn't dismiss Beckett's words.
“I want that jade fairy!” Suddenly, a man's cold and arrogant voice rang out in front of the display booth, causing an uproar in the crowd.
“I'm sorry, Sir. However, the jade fairy is only for display purposes,” the female staff member in charge of the display hurriedly explained, reacting just a moment later.
“It may not be sale for other people, but who can refuse if I, Andrew Johnson, want it? Call your boss out; I want to negotiate a price right now!” The man's voice grew even more arrogant and disdainful.
