Chapter 113 A Lost Dog
Before Beckett could reply, Hannah stopped him. She didn’t want him charging ahead. After all, she still needed him to carve and design more jewelry for her in the future.
She calmly explained, “You want this jade fairy, right? To be honest, Mr. Beckett carved it and we’re keeping it, we’re not its actual owners! If you want it, I can call the owner over. However, whether they will sell it to you or not is your own issue!”
She wasn’t afraid of compromising with Andrew, but she really couldn't make the final decision in this matter.
Moreover, if she offended the Johnsons, it wouldn’t be funny. Moreover, her company's relationship with Ethan was important, so she couldn’t hide this from him!
“Oh? Sure; bring the owner out, then. I want to see who has the audacity to look down on the Johnson family,” Andrew chuckled, not taking her seriously after a two-second pause.
“Mr. Johnson, have you forgotten the lesson from last time? Do you want to go through it again today?”
Just then, a disdainful voice came from outside the crowd.
Everyone turned their heads, seeing a young man in ordinary clothing. He leisurely walked toward them from outside the crowd. If it wasn't Ethan, who else could it be?
“You... How are you here?”
Andrew and Sharon never expected Ethan to suddenly appear, their faces filled with surprise.
Andrew still remembered how Ethan brutally humiliated him at Cloud Group's party. He harbored a deep hatred toward Ethan, mixed with slight instinctive fear.
Beckett and Hannah exchanged looks, both relieved and curious upon Ethan's timely arrival.
Unexpectedly, Ethan didn’t expect this encounter. Last night, he had been pondering what was happening to Chloe. But no matter how he asked, she refused to say anything. That was why he planned to meet Sarah today, hoping to get some answers.
Coincidentally, the Harris family also had a jewelry business in Novaria. Sarah was at her booth today, which led to her unexpected encounter with the three of them.
“You said you wanted to meet me and buy this jade fairy. Now that I’m here, you’re questioning me? Did you hit your head on the door, or did you get water in your brain while showering last night?” Ethan walked up to Hannah and Beckett, looking down on Andrew arrogantly as he taunted.
During that whole time, he never even looked at Sharon and Gabriella, completely ignoring them.
This made the two women’s faces turn exceedingly ugly.
“Who the hell is he? He dares to confront Andrew face-to-face?”
“I remembered now; he’s the man who previously offered an exorbitant price for the jade stone!”
“It's really him? Even if he is, he's just a wealthy commoner. How was he so brazen to speak to Andrew like that?”
“If he dares to offend Andrew, he'll definitely suffer!”
The spectators began to discuss Ethan's sudden appearance fervently. Obviously, in this confrontation between the two men, not a single person favored Ethan.
After all, the Johnson family was deeply rooted in Novaria. How could a wealthy commoner who just got a jade dare to provoke them?
“Ethan, who do you think you are? What rights do you have to talk to Mr. Johnson like this? Do you still think you're the Wilson family’s young master and Cloud Group’s chairman? You're nothing more than a waste who relies on women! I initially thought you only relied on Chloe, but I never expected you to rely on this woman as well!”
When Gabriella realized the situation, she pointed at Ethan and started berating, fully displaying her nasty attitude.
“Slap!”
Furrowing his eyebrows, Ethan didn't hesitate to directly slap her, knocking her to the ground with a highly-swollen cheek.
“You dare to hit me?” Gabriella couldn't believe that he’d dare hit her in front of Andrew, her eyes widening with resentment.
“You asked for it.” Ethan coldly huffed, showing no mercy.
Sharon finally reacted, hurriedly helping Gabriella up as she angrily glared at him. “You even hit my mother? What sort of man are you?”
“Mr. Johnson, will you leave on your own, or do you need my help?” Ethan asked, ignoring Sharon and staring at Andrew with a cold smile.
“Ethan, you've gone too far, even touching my people. Do you still think you're Cloud Group’s chairman? You’re nothing more than a stray dog now, so what rights do you have to talk to me like this? If you dare touch me today, I promise I’ll make sure you can never rest, even in death!” Andrew's mouth kept twitching, clearly showing that Ethan deeply angered him.
Andrew even made threats after his mocking remarks, showing his inherent fear of Ethan. Ethan's previous actions had clearly traumatized him.
Ethan sneered disdainfully, “Really? Even if I'm nothing now, I can still insult you and the Johnson family!”
Listening to this, the crowd erupted.
Nobody expected that Ethan was actually Cloud Group’s ex-chairman!
“No wonder he’s so brazen; turns out he’s the Ethan who made waves in Novaria some time ago.”
“But that was in the past, and he’s nothing now. Without Cloud Group, what can he do against the Johnsons? I think he's just asking for death!”
“A mere stray dog, but he still wants to oppose the formidable Johnson family?”
Those mocking Ethan didn't bother to hide their voices, saying it loud and clear.
“Mr. Wilson, you were Cloud Group’s chairman. Rest assured, I will support you no matter! I’m sure Miss Collins also feels the same!” Beckett stepped forward and publicly declared his stance to Ethan.
He wanted everyone to know that even without Cloud Group, Ethan still had supporters.
