Chapter 429 Fruit
"Didn't pass the test, huh?" Ethan asked, thinking it over.
"Yeah, the cultivator set a rule: three tries max. Fail the third time, and you're dead," Asura Bloodhand said with a bitter smile.
"So, after failing twice, you didn't risk a third try?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.
"Exactly. But I didn't leave empty-handed. I got a fruit!" Asura Bloodhand shifted the topic.
"What kind of fruit?" Ethan asked.
"A round red one, in a box. It just appeared. I didn't know what it was, but it felt special. Eating it would definitely help me!" Asura Bloodhand explained, shaking his head.
"So you ate it and jumped to grandmaster level, even surpassing Phoenix and Francis," Ethan's heart raced.
He was tempted. If such a fruit existed, it was worth a shot. Maybe he could get one too. Even if he didn't reach grandmaster level, becoming a master seemed likely.
"Yeah. Now, I'm the only one who knows the entrance to this secret realm, so you can't kill me!" Asura Bloodhand returned to the main point.
"Cut the crap. Where's the entrance? Tell me, and I might spare you!" Ethan warned.
Asura Bloodhand thought he could negotiate, which was laughable.
"If I tell you, you might kill me right after. Promise not to kill me, and I'll tell you!" This was his only bargaining chip.
"If you don't tell me, I'll still kill you. Do you think I'm bluffing? I can find that place without you. Plenty of people in Celestia Vale know where you were ambushed. I'll find out!" Ethan sneered.
Ethan's words made Asura Bloodhand pause. He hadn't expected Ethan to be so sharp. It might take time, but Ethan could definitely find it.
"It's in Infinite Mountain, two hundred miles southwest of Novaria," Asura Bloodhand finally gave in. He hoped Ethan would keep his word; otherwise, he might really kill him.
"Infinite Mountain? I've heard of it. Two hundred miles isn't too far; I can check it out," Ethan mused.
"Take me with you. There are many intricacies I haven't explained. There will be dangers. With me, I can ensure your safety and help you avoid many detours," Asura Bloodhand quickly added.
"Just trying to save your own skin, huh?" Ethan chuckled, seeing through him.
"Think what you want, but I'm not lying. Taking me will help you," Asura Bloodhand sighed.
"Fine, since you gave me a good lead, I'll spare you for now. But if I find out you lied, you'll regret it," Ethan warned, then cut off the connection with the bottle, silencing Asura Bloodhand.
A Jeep was already parked outside the villa gate. It had to be Angela.
The sun wasn't even up yet, and she was here so early!
Ethan left a note in the living room saying he was out, then got into Angela's car.
"I was about to call you. How'd you know I was here?" Angela asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Your car's pretty loud. I heard you as soon as you stopped," Ethan shrugged.
Angela started the car and drove off. "Can you help the elite troops open their Sea of Energy today?"
"Opening the Sea of Energy is quick. Bring all two thousand, and I'll handle it. But don't expect me to transfer super energy. You saw how draining it was last time. A few more, and I'd pass out," Ethan reminded her seriously.
Angela's eyes lit up. She thought getting Ethan to help one battalion was the plan. Handling all two thousand was beyond expectations!
As for the super energy, she knew it was impossible to transfer it to everyone. Ethan's abilities had limits. Plus, she considered herself different from the soldiers.
"You said it, so I'll have all the soldiers gather later!" Angela quickly confirmed, worried Ethan might change his mind.
"Anything else you need me to do at the camp today?" Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow. He was still thinking about checking out Infinite Mountain.
"Busy? If not, shouldn't you teach me the complete instructions?" Angela raised her eyebrows, sounding dissatisfied.
"Is that how you ask your master to teach you martial arts?" Ethan widened his eyes. Angela really didn't respect anyone!
"Who said I was asking you? You're not a competent master," Angela muttered, turning her head, feeling guilty.
"Incompetent? Why are you so ungrateful?" Ethan instinctively glanced at Angela's chest and smacked his lips.
"Where are you looking?" Angela noticed his wandering eyes and almost drove the car into a ditch.
