Chapter 666 Can Only Be Anxious

The next morning, Ethan took Angela and left Novaria, heading straight for Everglow City.

This time, it was just him and Angela; even Orla was left behind at the villa.

Before leaving, he instructed Chloe and the others, including Camila, to stay at the villa and not go out casually. Any issues should be dealt with after his return.

What Ethan didn't know was that just as he and Angela got off the plane, a young man appeared outside Everglow City airport.

"He really is a handful, just like his dad. But it's not bad to take a trip to Everglow City; I guess I have him to thank for that!" Watching Ethan and Angela get into a taxi and drive away, the young man looked around and smiled.

After getting in the car, Angela couldn't help but ask Ethan. "You've been quiet the whole way. What are you thinking about?"

"I can't say for sure, but I feel like someone is watching me!" Ethan shook his head uncertainly.

As soon as he said this, Angela's expression also became tense.

"Are you sure? Could it be that someone is targeting us again?" Angela clutched Ethan's arm, frowning as she asked softly.

Ethan didn't answer, just slowly shook his head. "Can you feel it too?"

In the Sea of Consciousness, Maeve also shook her head at Ethan.

From the moment they left Novaria, Maeve had been keeping an eye on their surroundings at Ethan's request, but hadn't noticed anything unusual.

Maybe he was just overthinking it?

Since Maeve said there was no problem, Ethan didn't dwell on it.

After all, if there really was such a formidable person watching him that even Maeve couldn't detect, there seemed to be no point in taking precautions unless he immediately ran back to Tiger Mount to hide.

And surely no top-notch expert would be so bored as to follow him all the way from Novaria to Everglow City without doing anything, right?

Ethan couldn't have imagined that there really was such a bored expert who followed him all the way from Novaria to Everglow City and then went straight into the nightlife to enjoy the pleasures of life!

Soon, the feeling of being watched disappeared, making Ethan think it was just his imagination, so he didn't give it another thought.

Ethan and Angela took the taxi to Angela's home to visit her parents.

In front of her parents, the two wisely avoided saying anything that would worry them.

Afterward, Angela drove Ethan to the Fragrant Garden's No. 1 courtyard.

Norman and Remington, who were walking in the small garden, were surprised to see Ethan and Angela suddenly appear.

"Aren't you two lovebirds supposed to be inseparable in Novaria? How come you're back so soon?" Remington asked Ethan suspiciously.

"I bet Angela couldn't sit still and wanted to come back to report in, right?" Norman said with a smile.

"This time, you're wrong. I originally planned to come to Everglow City alone to tell you something and then leave. Angela just came back to visit her parents." Ethan explained seriously.

Seeing Ethan's serious expression, Norman frowned and asked. "What happened?"

"Let's go inside and talk."

Norman and Remington exchanged glances, both feeling a sense of foreboding.

A moment later, the group went to Norman's reception room and sat down.

"Can you tell us now? Is it good news or bad news?" Norman asked, staring at Ethan.

"Bad news!" Ethan said straightforwardly.

Norman and Remington both frowned.

Ethan then briefly explained what had happened in the past few days, emphasizing the potential upcoming upheaval.

If they couldn't handle the awakening of the alien leader, it would be a disaster for the world, not just the Vexa family, but global stability.

"Is there really such a thing? Can't Celestia Vale handle it?" Norman's face turned grim. As the former highest leader of this land, he had always loved the land and its people deeply. How could he bear to see them face such a crisis?

"There are ways, but I can't explain them to you right now. There are too many variables and responses to consider. But there's another matter that requires your immediate attention." Ethan then mentioned the potential chaos among the hidden sects.

Norman and Remington looked at each other, seeing the shock in each other's eyes!

"These damn cultivators, instead of uniting against the alien invasion, they just want to fight among themselves!" Remington said through gritted teeth.

"Don't get angry. Think about how to deal with the upcoming changes. I'm here to inform you so you can be prepared. Things might not be as bad as I say. At least their primary target is me, which might be the best news for you!" Ethan said with a smile.

"You can still smile? Are you confident in dealing with so many hidden sects coming after you?" Remington glared at Ethan.

"What else can I do? I have to face it! If I die, their goal is achieved, and they might not trouble others." Ethan said nonchalantly.

"Ethan, you don't need to say such things. I just want to know if there's any way we can help you." Norman asked seriously.

"No need. I can handle my own affairs. You and Remington should focus on stabilizing the situation that might arise. Leave the rest to me!" Ethan shook his head and refused.

It wasn't that he was being pretentious; they really couldn't help with his matters.

"Why do I feel so uneasy? I must be getting old!" Remington said, stomping his foot in frustration.

"Forget it. Don't worry about me. Just focus on dealing with the upcoming situation. Angela and I will take our leave now." Ethan stood up and said.

"Leaving so soon?" Norman frowned and asked.

"There are many things to handle, and trouble will soon find me. Wherever I go, I might be a ticking time bomb. If you're not worried, I am. I don't want to drag you into this. You wouldn't want anything to go wrong here, right?" Ethan stood up and reminded them seriously.

Hearing this, Norman and Remington fell silent, feeling helpless.
