Chapter43 The box Mother left behind
"Ever since Brady threw me to Novaria three years ago, I’ve been preparing for any possible mishaps. Do you remember the largest partner company we had overseas?“ Ethan nodded, asking in return.
“Do you mean that offshore investment company?” Jayden seemed to have guessed something and was surprised.
Ethan explained while smiling, “Yes, that's my Plan B! Almost all of Cloud Group’s investments in the past three years were established through that company. As a third-party and the largest investor in all those projects, they can withdraw funds at any time and leave the mess to Cloud Group!”
“Back then, I never understood why you insisted on collaborating with such a shady foreign company. I didn't expect it to be yours!” Jayden had now understood Ethan's plan.
Once this company withdrew all of its investments, Cloud Group would face defaults and enormous losses. It wouldn’t be impossible for it to collapse within a short time. Moreover, the pile-up of bad debts and legal suits from partnerships will make Cloud Group panic.
Jayden knew Ethan had a backup plan, but he didn't expect it to be so big and decisive!

Ethan's words shocked Jayden even more.
His plan wasn't just aimed at Cloud Group, but at the Wilson family’s entire business empire!
Once Cloud Group collapsed or even went bankrupt, it would be a huge blow to the entire family, even affecting their work with other businesses. Their total assets would fall by at least 5 to 10 percent!

“I'm sorry, Sir! I merely followed Madam's orders, and I never wanted to keep this from you! I won’t complain if you're angry or want to scold me!”
Jayden immediately kneeled on the ground, resolutely apologizing.
This instantly diminished Ethan's anger by half. He also knew that since this his mother specially requested this, Jayden wasn’t the one at fault.
“Alright, get up and tell me what exactly happened. When did my mother give you this box, and what did she say?“
Ethan waved his hand, urgently asking.
After so many years, he finally received some news about her. However, he never thought she’d left him something!
“It was just a few days before the car accident. At that time, Madam suddenly called for me and gave me this small box.”
Jayden slowly began to explain.
“I didn't think much of it at the time since she was still…”
“Anyway, I agreed to do it. I never expected that she’d be in a car accident later, and only then did I realize that she probably sensed that she was in danger. Therefore, she carved a way out for you! However, I can't understand why Madam, who has always been with the Wilsons and didn’t contact the outside world much, would do such a thing.“

Shortly after, he returned while holding a dark box that had a palm-sized eagle pattern.
“Is this the box?” Ethan accepted the box and carefully examined it.
However, after looking at it for a while, he noticed that it couldn't be opened at all. One side of it had a keyhole, clearly indicating that it needed a key to open.
“What’s inside? Where’s the key? “Ethan asked.
“I'm sorry, Sir. I also don't know what's inside since I've never opened it before. When Madam gave me this, she never gave me the key. She said that she already gave it to you!” Jayden shook his head and explained while staring at Ethan.
“She already gave it to me?” Ethan was taken aback by the news.
A memory of a conversation with his mother suddenly flashed in his mind. Ethan's gaze fell on his chest, on an amber stone pendant his mother gave him years ago, instructing him to keep it safe. Turns out it was a key to unlocking a treasure!
Afterward, he thought that his mother was probably joking around.
After realizing this, Ethan immediately took out the amber stone from his chest and fiercely smashed it on the ground, cracking it open and revealing a thin and long metal object inside.
