Chapter 544 Returning to Everglow Again

An hour later, Ethan popped up at the top of Stone Mountain, fresh outta the secret realm of Celestia Vale. He didn't snag any clues about those secret realms from Raymond, but hey, he leveled up to master.

Ethan didn't sweat it. He knew he'd break through eventually, and getting there early wasn't a bad deal. Plus, he got to spar with Raymond, a grandmaster, so the trip was totally worth it.

By the time Ethan got back from Celestia Vale to Novaria, it was already noon the next day. He was munching on lunch with Jessie at the villa when his phone buzzed. It was Norman from Everglow.

"What's up?" Ethan had a hunch Norman was calling about the Grail.

Norman chuckled, "You know why I'm calling. You did the country a solid again. Why didn't you come back with Angela? Haven't seen you in ages."

Ethan grinned, "Just lending a hand, no biggie. What do you need?"

Norman cut to the chase, "Angela brought back the Grail, but we can't figure out what it's for. She said you might know how to use it, right?"

"Norman, if you guys don't know how to use it, why go through all that hassle to get it? And can't you ask Phoenix with your connections?" Ethan had been running around for days and wanted to chill with Chloe and the gang in Novaria. He wasn't keen on heading to Everglow.

"You don't wanna come see me, huh? Phoenix is here with me, but he's stumped too. Angela said you can make the Grail bigger, but Phoenix can't. Can you come over?" Norman's tone was a bit annoyed.

"I was planning to kick back at home for a few days. But since you asked, how can I say no?" Ethan rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed.

Ethan was surprised Phoenix couldn't figure out the Grail either. He didn't ask much over the phone, figuring he'd find out when he got there.

After hanging up with Norman, Ethan filled Jessie in on the situation.

Jessie, used to Ethan's constant absences, just sighed and told him to come back ASAP.

After promising Jessie, Ethan left the villa and headed to the airport, catching the next flight to Everglow.

As soon as he stepped out of Everglow airport, there was Angela.

Ethan walked up with a grin, "Didn't expect you to pick me up yourself."

"Like I had a choice. Besides Phoenix, it's just Remington and Bennit with Norman. If I didn't show up, who would?" Angela rolled her eyes.

"Oh, so you're not even grateful! I did help you finish the mission, right?" Ethan raised an eyebrow, a bit miffed.

"We had a fair trade," Angela shot back, giving him a serious look.

"Alright, alright, your kiss was really something," Ethan chuckled, feeling both amused and exasperated.

Once in the car, Angela drove straight to Fragrant Garden.

Even though Norman's health was fine now, he had retired and usually hung out at Fragrant Garden to chill.

Lately, more and more politicians had been dropping by Fragrant Garden. Even though Norman was retired, no one dared to underestimate him. When tough or big decisions came up, they often sought his advice, showing just how important Norman was in Vexa.

Returning to Fragrant Garden, Ethan wasn't feeling the novelty anymore. Following Angela, he headed straight to Norman's reception room, where he saw some familiar faces.

Besides Norman, Phoenix, Remington, and Bennit all turned to look at Ethan as he walked in.

Ethan asked, puzzled, "Haven't seen you guys in a while. Do you not recognize me?"

"Do you notice he seems different?" Norman stared at Ethan for a few seconds, then asked Remington and Bennit.

"I do feel that way, but I can't put my finger on it," Remington nodded.

Phoenix grinned, "Ethan's broken through to the master level, so of course, he's different."

Everyone was surprised, even Angela, who had come with Ethan, looked shocked.

"You broke through to the master level? When did that happen?" Angela's eyes widened, remembering it had been less than two days since she last saw Ethan.

"It happened today. I haven't told anyone yet," Ethan rubbed his nose, feeling a bit awkward. Besides the folks in Celestia Vale, he hadn't told anyone, not even Jessie.

"I knew you could become a master level," Norman laughed heartily, slapping his thigh.

Ethan couldn't help but twitch his mouth, wondering if Norman was praising or mocking him. Becoming a master level was natural for him.

"Ethan, do you really know how to use this Grail?" Phoenix, holding the Grail, asked curiously.

"Well, I know a little. I just had a sudden idea and tried it, and it worked," Ethan felt a bit guilty. It wasn't a sudden idea; Angela had told him.

"Oh, then why don't you show us how to use it?" Phoenix's eyes lit up as he handed the Grail to Ethan.

"Alright, but the space here is too small. Let's go outside," Ethan knew he couldn't dodge this and took the Grail, leading the way out of the reception room.
