Chapter58 Unexpected Awakening
Infuriated by Chloe's repeated interruption, James was furious and threatened in a low voice, “If you keep blocking me, don't blame me for being rude!”
“No matter what you say, I won't let you in. What do you want? If you dare to lay a finger on me, I promise you'll regret it!” Chloe stared at James without yielding an inch.
“You forced me into this! Do you really think I won't lay a hand on you?” Feeling proud and arrogant, James thought his Harris family was more prestigious.
As he lost patience, James angrily raised his hand, ready to slap Chloe.
“Stop!” Just then, the room door suddenly opened from inside.
Ethan was standing in front of the door, staring at James indifferently.
“If you lay a hand on her, I'll show you what regret truly means.”
James' hand froze mid-air when saw Ethan's intense gaze. He began feeling uneasy, making him hesitate!
“Ethan, how is everything?” Seeing Ethan come out, Chloe was the first to ask with concern.
“I’ve neutralized the poison in Old Master Harris’s body,” Ethan nodded, explaining to Chloe.
It was only then that James snapped out of his shock under Ethan's intimidating gaze. He realized that Ethan had suppressed him, making his face turn red with embarrassment along with the frustration he felt!
Hearing Ethan say that he had already removed Clarence’s poison, James was skeptical. “Impossible! So many experts couldn't do anything, how could you? I have to go in and see Grandpa. If there’s anything wrong with him, you're dead!”
Saying this, James hurriedly rushed into Clarence’s room. He had to confirm Ethan's words!
Inside, Alan and Sarah were observing Clarence’s complexion.
After Ethan's treatment, the dark and lifeless aura enveloping the old man had mysteriously vanished. It was replaced with a healthier, rosier complexion, even better than when he was healthy!
However, when Sarah tried to softly call out to Clarence, there was still no response.
“What's wrong with Grandpa?”
James rushed in with anxiety, shouting loudly upon hearing Sarah call for Clarence, as if afraid of any turmoil.
“Grandpa’s fine, of course! Just like recovering from any serious illness, his body needs time to heal. He'll wake up after a while!” As Ethan and Chloe entered from outside, he smiled sarcastically while speaking to James.
Hearing this, Sarah let out a sigh of relief and gratefully looked at Ethan.
Grandpa Clarence had always doted on her, so she naturally hoped that he would recover as soon as possible!
“Ethan, thank you so much!” she said excitedly. She originally had a try-it-out mentality, but he truly surprised her. It was simply unbelievable!
“Impossible! Don't exaggerate and try to stall. Unless Grandpa really wakes up, you're just deceiving us and avoiding responsibility!” James scoffed, his face full of disbelief. If Ethan really cured Clarence, it would mean that he really had to face the consequences of his actions.
However, how could he kneel and apologize?
Ethan replied confidently with a sneer, “I've said it before; your grandpa will wake up soon. I don't make false claims, you know. We will know soon enough! And I assure you, I always keep my word, especially with so many witnesses! I just hope Mr. Harris wouldn't go back on his word.”
After completely absorbing the poison in Clarence’s body, Ethan realized that the old man’s body was affected from the previous toxins. Thus, he wanted to see if he could use the cool sensation to repair Clarence’s damaged internal organs.
After all, it definitely had healing abilities, considering how it healed his own injuries before!
Ethan slowly flowed the cold air into Clarence's body. It felt like opening the door to a new world, discovering that under his control, it could actually check the patient’s physical condition.
As he had suspected, Clarence's organs were corroded by the toxins, and it probably wouldn't be long before some of them completely failed. Even God couldn't save him at that point!
What surprised Ethan even more was that the cold air not only quickly repaired the dead organs, but it was also much faster than when it healed him before this.
In other words, not only could he check other people’s bodies, but also treat the problem once he found it!
This was truly an unexpected blessing, and Ethan marveled at this cold air’s astonishing power.
What his mother, Jessie, left him could no longer be described as a treasure; it was simply a miracle.
With this, Ethan naturally had full confidence that Clarence would soon wake up.
James frowned and coldly snorted, “Let's wait for Grandpa to wake up and then we'll talk. However, we don't have time to waste with you with so many people! Who knows how long your 'soon' will be?”
“Be quiet! Who's kicking up such a fuss here?”
At that moment, a dissatisfied voice echoed, making everyone's gaze shift after the initial shock.
Wasn't that Clarence’s voice?
Sure enough, Clarence sat up from the bed with a disgruntled look. He was surprised to see so many people in his room, clearly unaware of what had happened.
“ You're awake, Dad?” Alan’s eyes widened as he quickly walked over to ask.
“What nonsense! Have I died? Why are so many people in my room?” Clarence glared at Alan and asked in an annoyed tone. His voice was strong, not sounding the least bit unwell.
“Grandpa... You're really okay! This is great. I was so worried for the past two days!” Sarah directly jumped into Clarence's arms, sobbing with excitement.
At this moment, Chloe had a shimmering gaze, looking at Ethan with an indescribable light in her eyes.
What Ethan brought to her wasn’t just shock anymore. He actually did it, but how?
“Sarah, why are you crying? I'm perfectly fine, aren't I? Tell Grandpa what happened!” Clarence couldn't bear to see his precious granddaughter in tears and, asking skeptically while trying to comfort her.
Sarah managed to stop crying, recalling when he was suddenly poisoned, numerous doctors being helpless, and Ethan coming to the rescue.
“I was poisoned?” Clarence's face instantly darkened. Apparently, he didn’t know what happened after he fainted from the poisoning.
Come to think of it, if it weren’t for Ethan, he wouldn't even know how he died.
