Chapter 386 Awaken
"I'm so mad! My dad dragged me back just to set me up with Harry!" Alice fumed, yanking white roses from the garden as she vented to Ethan.
"I think he's pretty handsome. Not even a little interested?" Ethan teased, watching her rage.
"Do you want me to be?" Alice snapped, staring at Ethan intently.
Just then, a loud, awkward scream from Harry echoed nearby, making Alice and Ethan exchange surprised looks.
"Well, doesn't matter now. He’s out of the running!" Ethan shrugged.
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be rushing to marry Alice off! Even if Harry's not great, he's still a prince, better than you with no status!" Eric's angry voice came from behind them.
"You're desperate!" Ethan shot Eric a helpless look.
Eric approached, eyeing them suspiciously.
"Why are you looking at us like that? Can't you recognize your own daughter and me?" Ethan frowned, confused.
"What exactly is your relationship now?" Eric finally asked.
"He's my man. Isn't that clear?" Alice clung to Ethan's arm, challenging Eric.
"Have you slept together?" Eric's question made Ethan's face darken.
"If you want that, I can make it happen tonight!" Ethan gritted his teeth.
"No need to wait; we can go to my room right now!" Alice was even fiercer.
"No, I don't agree with you two being together!" Eric quickly blocked his daughter, serious.
"Why did you throw Harry out then?" Alice scoffed.
"I don't think Harry's good enough, but Ethan isn't much better! I'll find someone else!" Eric fumed.
"You're pushing me to sleep with your daughter right now!" Ethan raised an eyebrow, openly threatening.
"Don't you dare!" Eric's eyes widened.
"If you dare, I support you!" Alice gave Ethan a thumbs-up.
"Think I won't?" Ethan stared defiantly at Eric.
"Alright! I know you'll do anything. I give up, okay? What do you want to let my daughter go?" Eric asked helplessly.
"It's too late. I'm already his!" Alice clung tighter to Ethan's arm.
"I want you to say it!" Eric glared at Ethan, ignoring Alice.
"There's nothing to say. I keep my word and I'll do what I promised her!" Ethan shook his head.
"Fine, if that's your choice, I'll respect it. But if you hurt Alice, don't expect me to remember our friendship!" Eric leaned in, whispering a warning to Ethan.
"What are you talking about? Get out of here and stop bothering us!" Alice snapped at Eric.
"Alice, just don't regret it later!" Eric sighed and walked away.
"Wasn't that a bit harsh?" Ethan watched Eric leave, feeling uneasy.
"Aren't you overreacting?" Alice pouted.
"Ethan, remember our bet? I thought I lost, but I actually won!" Eric's loud laughter echoed from afar.
Ethan's eyes widened. "You schemed against me!"
"It's not scheming. I didn't force you to be with Alice. When you got married, I suggested Alice, but you chose Sharon. I told you you'd regret it! And I was right!" Eric's voice came from a safe distance, probably to avoid Ethan's wrath.
"Come here, and I'll kick your ass!" Ethan moved to rush over, but Alice held him back.
"Isn't it good now? Let him be happy for a bit. Why fight? He's still my dad; show him some respect!" Alice tried to calm Ethan down.
"Did you and your dad plan this to trick me? No wonder he was always against you finding me. You were expecting me to fall." Ethan looked at Alice, more convinced of his suspicion.
"So what are you going to do now? I'll make it up to you!" Alice looked at Ethan pitifully.
"That depends on how you plan to make it up! Eric schemed against me; I'll get it all back from you!" Ethan snorted.
"How about I go back to the room, clean up, and make it up to you in bed?" Alice wrapped her arms around Ethan's neck, whispering in his ear.
Ethan shivered. He hadn't been intimate with Sarah and Chloe for days, and Alice's seduction was too much to resist.
"Alice, do you believe I'll make it so you can't get out of bed?" Ethan grabbed Alice's waist, threatening.
"As long as you like, you can break me apart!" Alice giggled seductively.
Ethan felt his mouth go dry and couldn't resist kissing Alice's red lips.
"Alice, why do you do this?" Eric sighed helplessly from the castle window, watching them kiss passionately below.
Just as Ethan and Alice were getting carried away, Ethan's phone rang.
Ethan jolted, quickly letting go of Alice. He checked his phone, looking helpless.
Sure enough, it was a call from Norman.
"I have some business to attend to. Don't make a sound!" Ethan warned Alice before stepping aside to answer.
"What the hell is going on? Explain!" Norman's frustrated voice came through the phone.
