Chapter 481 Logan's Acting Skills
After lunch, Ethan accompanied Chloe and the others, along with Camila, to play in the small courtyard of the Shadow Gang. During this time, no one from the branch families came to disturb them because everyone looking for Ethan was invited to the main hall by Beverly.
Zephyr and Dashiell had rushed back together from Everglow City. Upon arriving at the Wilson Villa, they went straight to Brady's place. The three of them engaged in a lengthy conversation that lasted over two hours, emerging only in the afternoon.
"It seems Brady is determined to make Ethan the head of the family. Should we still contact those people as planned?" Just after leaving Brady's place, Dashiell frowned and asked Zephyr when they reached a secluded spot.
"Even if the position of head is given to him, he’s just a useless puppet. Do you really think the branch families will listen to him?" Zephyr sneered dismissively.
"But delay isn't a solution either. Ethan has clearly set a timeline. From the first day he takes over as head, all the Wilson family’s assets and shares must be handed over to him within a week, and they will be directly acquired by the Cloud Group," Dashiell reminded Zephyr again, somewhat worried.
"The law doesn't punish the masses. If only one or two people delay, it won't work. If Ethan is ruthless enough, he will make an example out of someone. But what if most of the branch families find various excuses to delay? After all, transferring shares is a big deal, and not every family will be satisfied with the price, right?" Zephyr sneered sinisterly.
"Alright, I heard Ethan is meeting all the branch family heads in the main hall this afternoon. I need to talk to them beforehand so we can all be on the same page. That way, Ethan won't have a chance to make trouble." Dashiell nodded in agreement.
"I'd love to see the look on Ethan's face then." Zephyr sneered confidently.
"But won't this make Brady unhappy? He just asked us to cooperate with Ethan's reforms. If we pretend to comply but secretly oppose, he will definitely see through it." Dashiell glanced back at the Elders' Council and suddenly changed his tone, a hint of worry in his voice.
"Are you scared?" Zephyr asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course I am. Aren't you afraid he'll come after you? Oh, right, you’ll run off to Celestia Vale after this. Even if Brady wants to find you, he won't be able to. The blame will be on me." Dashiell rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Don't worry. Your role is irreplaceable for now. As long as you hold the top seat in the branch families, you can rally support. Brady won't dare do anything to you. And if he does, it will give Ethan an excuse to go after him." Zephyr reminded him dismissively.
Dashiell fell into deep thought upon hearing this, then nodded in agreement. "You're right. I almost forgot about Ethan. As long as the two of them are at odds, we won't be in too much danger. You've planned this all along."
"You are my most important partner. How could I harm you? Without you, I would be isolated in the Wilson family. " Zephyr nodded seriously.
"Just make sure you keep your word. When you go to Celestia Vale, you must find the Wilson family members there. If you can get their support, we can even stand up to Ethan. As for Brady, he won't be a problem then." Dashiell got excited at the thought of the benefits Zephyr would bring from Celestia Vale.
Being an ambitious individual, he grasped the principle of seeking opportunities in times of danger. The only people who could help them balance Ethan and Brady were those Wilson family members who had entered Celestia Vale.
Strangely, although those sent to Celestia Vale were still considered top members of the Wilson family, none had returned over the years, as if they had completely severed ties with the family.
However, Dashiell wasn't concerned that Zephyr would never return like the others, as both Elmer and Brady had come back from Celestia Vale.
Moreover, Zephyr was extremely ambitious. His goal had always been to become the head of the Wilson family.
If Elmer and Brady knew what they were thinking, they would be speechless. If given a choice, nobody would want to leave Celestia Vale and return to the Wilson Villa.
There were just too many things Zephyr and Dashiell didn't know.
At that moment, Zephyr's expression changed as he turned to look at the road. He saw Logan walking towards them with a nervous look, waving for him to come over.
Logan's anxious demeanor left Zephyr and Dashiell puzzled.
"What’s he up to now?" Dashiell asked suspiciously, frowning.
"How should I know? Let's go see what he has to say." Zephyr walked towards Logan.
Logan pulled Zephyr and Dashiell to a corner of a building, confirmed no one else was around, and then whispered, complaining, "Why were you in Brady's courtyard for so long? I've been waiting for you."
"Why were you waiting for us?" Zephyr asked, frowning in suspicion.
"I have something important to tell you. Are you planning to go to Celestia Vale after Ethan becomes the head?" Logan asked urgently, as if it were a big deal.
"How do you know when I'm going to Celestia Vale? Why are you asking?" Logan's heart skipped a beat, and his expression turned serious.
"I'm trying to save you. If it weren't for our close relationship, I wouldn't risk telling you this. If Brady finds out what I'm about to say, I'll be in big trouble. Don't betray me," Logan warned nervously.
"What's going on? Spit it out!" Zephyr had a bad feeling and impulsively grabbed Logan's shoulder, squeezing so hard that Logan's face turned pale with pain.
"It hurts! Let go, or I can't talk!" Logan cursed Zephyr inwardly but maintained a facade of affection.
Realizing he was too rough, Zephyr let go, and Logan immediately explained seriously, "You can't go to Celestia Vale. Brady has already betrayed you. He wants to reconcile with Ethan and plans to use you to gain Ethan's trust."
"What did you say? Explain yourself." Zephyr's face darkened, and even Dashiell looked shocked.
