Chapter 416 It Was All Part of God's Plan

Wade was holed up in a small motel with Angela and two serious-looking intelligence officers.

"Why haven't we heard from him yet? Almost every agent in the city is looking for Mr. Grant. If we don't find the hard drive soon, we need to evacuate!" one officer said, frowning at Angela.

"We have to trust him. If we don't hear from him by tonight, you two will escort Mr. Grant back tomorrow. I'll stay and keep searching for the hard drive," Angela sighed after a long pause. It was the best plan she could come up with.

Just then, Angela's phone rang. Seeing it was Ethan, she perked up.

"Finally, you're calling. Got any news?" Angela asked quickly.

"Why don't you come downstairs? You might be in for a surprise," Ethan's laughter came through the phone.

Angela rushed to the window and saw Ethan standing at the motel entrance, grinning.

"You guys stay with Mr. Grant. I'm going down to check," Angela said, then dashed out the door.

She reached the entrance and saw Ethan smiling broadly.

"What surprise?" Angela asked, panting.

"Does a hard drive count?" Ethan said, pulling out a black leather bag and waving it.

"A hard drive? Give it to me!" Angela's eyes lit up as she grabbed the bag.

Inside was a black external hard drive.

"Is this Mr. Grant's hard drive?" Angela asked, almost not believing it.

"Why don't you take it up to him and find out? I wouldn't joke about this," Ethan said seriously.

"How did you manage this?" Angela asked, wide-eyed.

"Got lucky and made a deal with Arnold. Don't worry about the details. Just get the hard drive to Wade and get him back ASAP," Ethan said, refocusing on the task.

"Let's go!" Angela nodded and ran back inside.

Wade confirmed the hard drive was his, and Angela finally felt relieved.

She hadn't expected Ethan to pull this off and had even considered him an outsider. But he turned things around all by himself and got the hard drive back!

"So, thinking about how to thank me?" Ethan asked with a smile.

Angela, about to thank him, rolled her eyes instead. Ethan's smug look made her grit her teeth.

"This was your mission from the start. I'll put in a good word for you when we get back. Don't worry, I won't steal your credit!" Angela huffed.

"Forget it. I don't need the credit. I'm not really part of your military, just an honorary outsider. The credit might be more useful to you," Ethan said seriously.

Angela was taken aback. She hadn't expected Ethan to be so considerate.

"Is this why so many girls chase after you?" Angela asked suddenly.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Just remember, even if you don't see me as your mentor, I still see you as my student. What kind of mentor competes with their student for credit?" Ethan said earnestly.

Angela fell silent.

"Don't just stand there. Mr. Grant and the hard drive are safe now. The most important thing is to get Mr. Grant back. I've already booked the last flight in two hours. Let's get moving!" Ethan reminded her.

"That saves us some trouble!" Angela said awkwardly, then called the two intelligence officers to pack up and prepare to escort Wade out.

With Ethan escorting them, the trip to the airport was smooth.

However, upon arriving at the airport, Ethan noticed many suspicious individuals inside.

It was clear these people were agents from various countries looking for Wade.

"Don't go through the main hall. We'll board the plane from the work area," Ethan said. He had anticipated this and arranged for Alice to contact Ryan to coordinate with the airport.

Although the royal family had declined, Ryan was still a national symbol, and this small favor was within his power.

"Aren't you coming with us?" Angela asked, surprised that Ethan had no intention of boarding the plane.

"Even though we have the hard drive, there are still a few things to sort out. Otherwise, I might really not be able to leave," Ethan sighed.

He could leave, but what about the issues between the royal family and the Winston family? What about Spencer?

Alice would return to Vexa with him, but Eric had to stay in Norway to continue managing the business. Eric might end up being hunted by the Winston family.

"Is it that troublesome? Should I stay and help you?" Angela frowned, considering staying to help.

"No need. You wouldn't be able to handle my issues anyway," Ethan said bluntly, not caring about Angela's pride.

"You're right. With your skills, you don't need my help," Angela huffed and turned to board the plane.

"Wait!" Ethan suddenly called out to Angela.
