Chapter 419 A Scapegoat

Blair stared at Spencer for a moment, then suddenly smiled.

"What's your problem?" Spencer snapped, feeling like Blair was mocking him.

"It's rare to see you so messed up. I can't figure out Ethan. If you want to keep your director position, you better talk to him," Blair said seriously.

"Me? Talk to him?" Spencer couldn't believe his ears.

Blair actually suggested he talk to Ethan!

"Yep. He's in the café across the street, alone. I doubt he's there for the view," Blair pointed out.

Spencer's eyes widened, and he rushed to the window to look at the café.

"Don't bother; you won't see anything. You shouldn't keep him waiting. He's already getting impatient," Blair said.

Blair thought, 'You think you can see what's happening in the café from here? No way.'

If Blair hadn't sensed Ethan earlier, he might not have noticed him at all.

Ethan had intentionally let them know he was there.

"Aren't you coming with me?" Spencer asked, clearly worried Ethan might harm him. He had asked Blair for help with Ethan.

"No need. If he wants to kill you, I can't stop him," Blair shrugged.

Spencer's face darkened.

He hadn't expected the always arrogant Blair to admit defeat, especially to a young guy from Vexa!

They hadn't even fought yet, and Blair's words already acknowledged Ethan's superior strength.

Spencer snorted and stopped talking to Blair. He feared Ethan would get impatient and cause chaos like last time.

A few minutes later, Spencer met Ethan, who was drinking coffee in the café.

"Mr. Wilson, we meet again!" Spencer tried to smile warmly.

"Sit down. What do you want to drink?" Ethan gestured to the sofa opposite him.

"No need. I just want to say a few words," Spencer shook his head, bracing himself.

"What do you want to say?" Ethan raised an eyebrow, looking interested.

"Did you cripple Herong?" Spencer asked quietly.

"Don't make baseless accusations. That's beyond my abilities. Besides, I heard someone saw Herong by the river this morning, getting into a car with some Madryd people. They should be your people, right?" Ethan responded ambiguously.

"Even if you don't admit it, I know you did it. And you let him die at my place. Are you trying to frame me?" Spencer was furious but helpless as Ethan played dumb.

"You're sharp. What did you think I came here for? Just chit-chat?" Ethan said, snapping his fingers.

"Impossible. I won't admit it. I'll reveal the truth to the public!" Spencer shook his head.

"Sorry, that's not up to you," Ethan sighed, giving Spencer a helpless look.

"What do you mean? Are you threatening me?" Spencer frowned.

"I hate betrayal and deceit. Yes, I'm threatening you. Who told you to lie to me? If I hadn't reacted quickly, Arnold might have been killed by you!" Ethan put down his coffee cup, smiled, and patted Spencer's face.

Spencer turned pale, cold sweat forming on his forehead.

He knew if Ethan wanted to kill him, it would be over in seconds, and he wouldn't stand a chance.

"I'm not asking for your life. Consider it a punishment for deceiving me. Of course, you can choose not to listen, but let's see if you have the guts," Ethan said, placing a hundred-dollar bill on the table and walking out without looking back.

Spencer sat there, stunned, unable to recover.

He knew Ethan wasn't joking. If he didn't comply, Ethan would definitely retaliate. Being targeted by a Half-Step Grandmaster was no joke.

Ethan knew his visit had the desired effect. If Spencer was smart, he wouldn't go against him. If he listened, everything would be fine.

The only variable was Blair.

But so far, Blair hadn't shown any intention of fighting him and hadn't even appeared.

With Herong as an example, who would dare think Ethan was easy to control?

That night, news of Herong's death hit the front page, catching the entire Winston family off guard.

According to the police, Herong had been kidnapped by unknown individuals and later found dead by the roadside.

As for who the kidnappers were, only God knew.

This was the official story to fool the public, but the Winston family wasn't buying it. No one believed this conclusion.

The royal family became the prime suspect, and Ryan received several calls the next morning, all asking about Herong's death.

Photos began circulating online, showing Herong being taken away by the river.

Spencer picked out one unfortunate person as a scapegoat. After making a few harmless statements about punishing the culprits, the matter was covered up.

"Finally settled. When are you planning to go back?" Alice asked, turning off the TV that was still broadcasting the news. She knew Ethan had to leave.
