Chapter 483 Brady's Schemes

In the Shadow Gang's council hall, Ethan sat in Elmer's seat, leisurely drinking tea with a confident demeanor. Elmer, who had just walked in, looked at Ethan and reminded him, "You seem quite relaxed. Zephyr is currently fuming with frustration."

"Back so soon? Looks like everything went smoothly?" Ethan squinted his eyes and smiled.

"It did go smoothly. I didn't realize Logan could be so useful. He might make a good actor in the future," Elmer said jokingly.

"With your help, it's hard for Zephyr not to believe it. But he won't go to Brady himself to verify it; he will definitely believe it!" Ethan's smile grew even brighter, but to Elmer, it seemed somewhat sinister.

"If Brady knew you were scheming against him, he'd probably be furious! But what Zephyr is thinking right now, only he knows. Are you that confident?" Elmer reminded him.

"If he's smart, he should know who to choose at this moment. I've always thought he was an ambitious person. If he still wants to get into Celestia Vale, he has no other choice but to seek my help," Ethan said with a smile.

"You've really seen through him!" Elmer nodded.

At this moment, a figure walked in from outside. It was Trevor, who had previously left the Wilson family and had now returned.

"I didn't think you would be back until tonight. You came back pretty quickly!" Ethan raised an eyebrow and smiled at the travel-worn Trevor.

"Raymond agreed to your request without even thinking about it. He even personally instructed the elders of the foreign affairs hall to modify the roster. It didn't take much time at all," Trevor explained with a speechless expression, looking at the smiling Ethan.

He really couldn't understand why Raymond, who had always been dutiful, would break Celestia Vale's rules just because of a word from Ethan.

"You don't get it?" Ethan looked at Trevor's frustrated expression and laughed even more joyfully.

"What's so funny? Should I get it? What kind of riddle are you playing?" Trevor looked even more puzzled and frustrated, feeling like a fool.

"That's the difference between a master and a disciple because he knows what I want to do," Ethan reminded him with a chuckle.

"So what exactly do you want to do?" Trevor couldn't help but frown.

"You'll find out soon enough. Just wait and watch the fun. Isn't it more interesting to see the answer revealed?" Ethan refused to say more, making Trevor roll his eyes several times.

At this moment, Ethan's phone suddenly rang.

Beverly had already gathered all the main leaders of the branch families in the Wilson family's main hall. Most of the people had already arrived, and she called to inform Ethan to come over immediately.

Ethan agreed and hung up the phone.

"Let's go." Ethan stood up and smiled at Trevor.

"They're all Wilson family members. Why should I go?" Trevor asked, puzzled.

"Aren't you a Wilson family member?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.

"That depends on whether others think so!" Trevor shrugged noncommittally.

"Alright, even if you're not a Wilson family member, Beverly is there, and don't you want to have a talk with her?" Ethan chuckled and winked at Trevor.

"What do I have to talk to her about?" Trevor immediately blushed, and he had an urge to run away.

"She asked me about you as soon as she arrived today, wondering where you went. It seems she cares much about you," Ethan smirked and reminded him.

"She asked about me?" Trevor's heart skipped a beat.

"Yes, she seemed eager to see you. But you don't seem interested. So, forget it. I'll tell her you're busy," Ethan said seriously and walked out.

"Wait. When did I say I was busy? Don't say that." Trevor was stunned for a moment, then realized something was wrong and quickly chased after Ethan.

"You've even won over Trevor. Ethan, you really surprise me!" Watching their departing figures, Elmer smiled playfully.

In the Elder's Courtyard, Herman looked at Brady, who was still drinking tea, with a frown.

"Brady, the Wilson family people have all gathered in the main hall. Ethan said he wanted to meet them. Do you think something will happen?" Herman's tone carried a hint of unease. The branch families were not entirely under their control and could be considered a separate faction led by Dashiell.

If things weren't handled properly and a conflict with Ethan erupted before the family head's succession ceremony, it could cause a big mess!

"Don't worry. Just have someone keep an eye on the main hall. We don't need to show up." Brady seemed completely unconcerned.

"What if they can't reach an agreement? Shouldn't we step in?" Herman hesitated and asked.

"Favor is something that becomes less valuable if you offer it too eagerly. I don't mind doing him a favor, but my favor isn't that cheap." Brady chuckled.

Herman immediately understood Brady's intention. He wanted Ethan to face some setbacks first, so Ethan would have to come begging for help.

Although Brady had bestowed upon Ethan the position of family head, if he couldn't fully take charge, it would be like being a puppet. In the end, he might even become a joke.

"You're right. Let's keep him waiting. Even if we help him, it should be after the family head's succession ceremony!" Herman, understanding Brady's intention, also breathed a sigh of relief.

Since Brady wanted to see Ethan have conflicts with the branch families first, they would go along with it. Besides, Brady's reasoning made sense.

Ethan had already brought Trevor to the entrance of the Wilson family's main hall and saw Beverly waiting outside.

When she saw Trevor, Beverly's beautiful eyes clearly lit up, which Ethan noticed, further confirming his previous suspicions that she had feelings for Trevor.

And judging by Trevor's earlier reaction, he seemed to care about Beverly. It seemed Ethan's previous arrangements were not in vain.

"You finally arrived. Everyone is already inside, just waiting for you!" Beverly quickly came up to them, and while talking to Ethan, her beautiful eyes kept glancing at Trevor.

"The task I gave you is still ongoing. I'll leave Beverly to you." Ethan winked at Trevor and chuckled before walking into the main hall.

Beverly immediately blushed. She didn't dare to look at Trevor again and quickly followed Ethan into the main hall.

Trevor touched his bald head, hesitated for a long time, and finally followed them in. He had no choice; after all, this was a task given to him by Ethan.

Trevor hadn't learned much about human relationships yet, but he had already learned to deceive himself.
